  1. Is it the same part number for FWD and AWD? If so, the "American version" probably fits both too...
  2. Sure... I don't think you'll find a direct replacement, but with an adapter plate there are a number of options available.
  3. Assuming I am correct about the OEM leather being Katzkin, here is what they recommend. Note: Some cleaners will void your warranty as it removes the protective layer they apply to the leather during manufacture (I wonder if this is the cause of some of these issues?). I have followed these guidelines in the past and never had any issues. http://www.katzkin.com/katzkin-leather-care
  4. I would agree with bramfrank... Sounds like after you turned the ESP off you may have been hitting the gas a little too aggressively. The DJ is not truly and AWD vehicle in that it only applies power to the rear wheels when it anticipates that it is needed. Next time turn it off as you are coming up to the hill and apply nice even pressure to the throttle. No need to park before turning it off, just hit the button. And try not to hit the throttle hard like you were used to in your Exploder as 4x4 is VERY different in how it behaves compared the the AWD system in the DJ. Good luck and let us know how it goes next time.
  5. Aren't the "OEM" covers made by Katzkin??? They are a very good company with quality products (I have installed them on previous vehicles and found them to be very high quality), surprises me that there would be issues. Perhaps it is the seat design? Or maybe an imperfect installation at the factory? Odd...
  6. Looks great... Sounds like a lot of work!
  7. Let us know what the new dealer thinks... Hopefully it is not one of the crappy ones.
  8. Sorry, was confusing this thread with another one...
  9. Yeah, I don't think that when they calculate "city" mileage they consider 20 miles of stop and go daily... typically there are some breaks in true "city" driving.
  10. I'd be more worried about the fact that the dealer is so incompetent that they just replace it instead of figuring out what the issue is. Makes me glad I got the lifetime bumper to bumper warranty... Good luck with your new unit; how long do you have to wait for one to arrive?
  11. If it was doing it before you changed the plugs it would have been pretty obvious when you pulled them then...
  12. That manual is useless... Go here and download the full manual. http://www.dodge.com/en/owners/manuals/
  13. I'm not frustrated, just trying to help you navigate a little better... I would have put this in the "Interior" section or the "Glass, Lenses, Lighting and Mirrors" section... Not everyone looks in the "Lounge" or "Articles..." sections. You will get a lot more traffic in your thread (and better answers) if you try and place it in the higher traffic areas. Welcome to the forum.
  14. I believe he said it has done this since day one... I know winter is long in Canada, but it's not that long! There is definitely an issue beyond long warm ups and city driving. 8mpg is INSANE...
  15. Throttle position sensors can usually be checked with a meter... You'd have to get the exact values from a service manual, but there are members on the board that could get you that info. Does it feel like when you are running out of gas? Possibly something in the fuel delivery system like a clogged injector or pump on the way out??? Just throwing out guesses at this point. Curious to hear if it happens when shifting manually...
  16. My advice would be that the TIPM (fuse box) controls a lot of functions in the vehicle and is somewhat more complicated than your typical automobile fuse box. The cost of replacement on one is near the $1,000 (US) if something gets messed up. I'm not saying you're not qualified to perform the task or anything like that, but I don't think that the risk is worth the reward. That is my two cents...
  17. Nowadays they typically use a common harness in the same model vehicles, regardless of trim. The only harnesses that would be missing would be ones that are not part of some other system. The sunlight sensor should be in all of the DJ as it is part of the main harness behind the dash.
  18. Your posts would get more attention if you put them in the correct forum. Also, posting the same question numerous times is annoying at best. The door lights are controlled on the dash dimmer switch. Lights must be on in order to observe dimming adjustment. This is spelled out very clearly in the manual... Page 231 states, "Dimmer Controls The dimmer control is part of the headlight switch and is located on the left side of the instrument panel. Rotating the dimmer control upward with the parking lights or headlights on will increase the brightness of the instrument panel lights, door map pockets and cupholders (if equipped)."
  19. @Defender007: Remote start definitely hurts mine... I am in the 18-19 mpg during the winter. There are only a few things that really affect mileage (or whatever it is called in the metric system) besides driving habits. I would assume that you have checked all of those? Mine got significantly better around the 8,000 mi mark, but you've more than doubled that already.
  20. what did the independent shop say was the issue, or did they just say that the tranny was fine??
  21. No idea... I just used the jumper post and wire loomed them to existing wires in the engine bay so that they were hidden.
