Had my Journey 1 1/2 years tire help please. Wide tire photos please

Oh, thought the GC had a different pattern... Wife's car? Are they (wives) ever thrilled? I live by the motto that "it is easier to ask forgiveness than it is to beg for permission"... -
You have to guess and hope you provide accurate information... Duh.

Don't be ridiculous... with the battery in the wheel well it will likely cost thousands to replace. Add to that the fact that the car is less than a year old and you have a recipe for disaster. I think that the OP should try and trade it in on something else as soon as humanly possible. And DEFINITELY check to make sure the battery is easily reached.

Haha! Do it... Should be able to get replicates of the wheels, or use a spacer/adapter to change the bolt pattern. I recall a post where someone had the lowering springs on an AWD, but have been unable to locate it to try and communicate with the poster. I haven't searched the internet very hard to find out, but they are definitely listed as FWD models by the manufacturer. EDIT: Or... buy them for the AWD and if they don't fit, throw 'em on the other DJ!! -
Generally speaking, yes, the tube can be removed. I can't say for sure on this engine, but that has been my experience in the past. I haven't heard of this before on a DJ, but who knows. Can you see it in there, or are you assuming it is there because it's not connected to the handle?

At least 20"... still contemplating 22". I had asked for people's personal experiences in another threas, but most of the replies were opinions about how it would look etc. Very little actual feedback from people who have made the switch. It is also unclear to me if the HHR lowering kit fits the AWD models... If so, I would be open to that. -
Puddle light installation help

Milous may be able to help... Or Journeyman425. They seem to be able to get a hold of the diagrams. -
Was another post on here saying their's didn't shut off either... Interesting. What does the manual say about turning off the ESC?
-
No. Should be able to push it whenever...
-
I used EBC slotted and dimpled rotors and green stuff pads on my Dakota and Ram (both undersized OEM brakes IMO) and the difference was unbelievable... I would strongly recommend them.

Which Garmin?

Ha! Maybe I'll give it another try... Just for the voices though. -
Sirius Radio Subscription

Does the art only display when using USB, or with BT as well? -
Is this a do it once thing, or every time you get in the car?? Seems like quite the procedure.

Sirius Radio Subscription

Interesting... So you would recommend All Access then? You can download the songs?? Do they "disappear" when you stop paying for the subscription? Does art display on your screen with that service? -

Nice DJ. I haven't upgraded yet, but plan on doing so in the near future... I will be doing more than tires though. -
Turn off ESC. Then it will be engaged all the time... Just because your front tires are spinning doesn't mean it isn't working. The ESC cuts power to the wheels that are slipping, if all 4 wheels are slipping you will sit still. As far as the service light on, it is usually triggered by worn tires (not likely your case with only 11,000 miles) or because someone freaked out and hit the gas so hard that the wheels started spinning at different rates. The vehicle shuts off AWD at that point to avoid damaging the drive train. Not sure what the amount of time you have been driving in the winter has to do with your issue? No light... You didn't NEED it, but it is nice to have if you understand how it operates and use it within its limitations. I would not classify this AWD in the same category as true AWD. It is simply there to assist as needed.

I used to use this, but it is too interactive for me... I found myself touching the screen a lot while I was driving. Very illegal and not all that safe... -
Different lower from different model
Lobitz68 replied to zamoon's topic in Accessories, Modifications
Per my post above, all controls soft and hard are retained with the Metra kit. It just needs a couple of wiring harnesses... -
Sounds like from his post that the sensor broke and fell into the wheel, at least that is what I gathered... Also, he is in Canada and the road conditions there are quite different from California.
-
Your manual details reasons for this light to activate... How are you determining that you don't have all wheel drive if there is no light? AWD is not always active as the car attempts to decide when you need it and when you don't. In most operating conditions it will be FWD... There is a post that Journeyman425 made recently that describes the operation of the AWD system and may clear up your confusion... EDIT: See posts #49 and #51 http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/6074-fwd-vs-awd-in-snow/page-3

According to Ducky's post, a blowout and spin out was EXACTLY what happened. That would be more than enough motivation for me to spend $100 on new sensors...

According to Metra's website it retains the factory screen... Should work. There are a couple of harnesses you will need to buy as well. Post up your results.
