  1. That's not going to be easy either... You could always add another stereo in addition to the OEM one... Don't know where you would put it though...
  2. Nope... Different models have different colors and options (i.e., Chrysler vs Dodge vs Jeep, etc.), but that is about as far as you can go as far as customization. The "stereo" runs so much of the vehicle that I would be afraid to mess with it personally.
  3. There are numerous pics on the site of DJ's with 22's... There is plenty of side wall on them. None of them looks gaudy or ugly to me and I am not typically the guy that likes that type of thing either. At the moment I found a set of 20" wheels that I like a lot (Savini Black Di Forza BM8's). Still curious to hear people's real world experiences with a change that drastic (opinions are like buttholes, so I am ignoring those). EDIT: It would appear that for a 20" wheel I would have to use a 245/45/20 tire which has a side wall height of 110mm or about 4.3"... That is still a lot of side wall. For a 22" wheel it looks like a 255/35/20 which has a side wall height of about 89mm or 3.5". It's not like it would be riding on rubber bands or anything drastic like that... 3.5" is still a decent amount of side wall.
  4. It would likely help... The car takes away power from slipping wheels, so it makes sense that you would lose power. Try it and see.

Oh!!! On the ends... that makes more sense. I was picturing them along the length of the trim. DEFINITELY skip paying for that install...
  6. I am considering 20" wheels as well, just looking for personal experiences. Our roads aren't perfect here in MN, but better than Detroit... My concern with the 20" wheel is that there is still a lot of side wall. From the pics I have seen of 20" and 22" wheels on the site, I think that the 22" wheels match the vehicle a little bit better. I haven't done enough research at this point to see how large the side wall on the tires would be if keeping the stock tire/wheel height, but I imagine there should still be plenty of rubber. I am going from 17" wheels, so either way I anticipate a visually noticeable difference, but I don't want to spend a bunch of money on wheels and tires only to be disappointed. Thanks for you feedback, it has given me things to consider and is appreciated.
  7. No recalls yet. I have heard some dealers are having hoses made that are a little beefier, while other are switching to a full synthetic fluid rather then a ATF+4 blend that is normally used. Note that changing fluids will void that part of the warranty if you still have one. Agreed. They should be replaced whenever you get new tires. Also, I highly doubt that something like this would be "Journey specific" as they use the same valve stems for all of their vehicles. I would be more inclined to believe that they were replaced last time the tires were replaced and whoever did it, screwed it up. I would take what you heard with a grain of salt and just have them all replaced for piece of mind (I would also have it done by a mechanic that doesn't gossip like a high school girl).
  8. We were close to that for a while here in the States... It has come down significantly over the past year or so.
  9. If it ever becomes a recall, they would pay you back for the expenses. Ughh...
  10. ATF+4 is not a full synthetic, I believe it is a blend. @longhorm... I hope you don't have any issues, as using unapproved fluids will void the warranty on your power steering components. Have you experienced issues with the hose bursting on yours?
  11. Ha! Interesting perspective! With all of the free music available and all of the different options for listening available in the DJ I will probably let mine go when it expires... I used it a lot right away, but honestly haven't used it in quite some time. I guess it depends on how much it costs for what I would actually use. I figured when the trial is over they will likely offer me a "deal" to stay aboard. I'll see what the offer is and decide then.
  12. I am seriously considering increasing the size of my wheels this summer to 22" and looking for insight and personal experiences from those who have been there... My areas of interest include: Ride - how does the ride "suffer" from the decrease in sidewall? Other useful information may be the quality of your roads and what wheel size you had originally... Braking - Is the braking affected seriously by this upgrade? I have the large brakes on my '14 and they stop great the way it is... Acceleration - Not sure if this really matters to me as I am past my days of driving like an ass, but if it makes it feel like I'm driving a 2.4, that would be a problem. I also plan on doing some light towing once in a while. Mileage - How did your gas mileage change? Again, useful information here would be what wheel size you had originally as well as how your typical commute breaks down (% city vs % highway). Any words of advice from people who have done this are appreciated. Thanks guys!
  13. Yeah, I think they are a part of the hub... you know, so they can charge an arm and a leg should they ever fail. At least your dealer is competent enough to make the diagnosis and repair. With all of the horror stories you hear, I sometimes wonder if I am just really lucky to have 2 good dealers withing 20 miles of my home.
  14. Ha! I hear you. I generally just stay home on these days as well, or take the back roads. We are a hockey family though and hockey goes on regardless of the weather, so there are many times I need to get out there even if I don't want to. Since the tires I would buy, given the scenario of upgrading my wheels, would likely be summer oriented, I will need something for winter...may as well be a winter specific tire.

This has always been my experience... Seems stupid that they would pin them down. I think the dealer may be misinformed or trying to screw you over... Have you tried pulling up on them to see what happens? I bet they come right out.

huh... maybe that has something to do with the waviness... Seems that something that is affected by the weather would be free to shrink and expand, but with it screwed down that isn't going to happen. Regardless, it isn't a difficult task to take off the door panel. Certainly not worth that install rate...
  17. Ha! I was just going to express my sympathies... BUT, looks like all is well. Thanks for the report!

Doubt the interior needs to be removed... Usually you just need to roll the window down. Not positive for the DJ, but that has been my experience on other vehicles... EDIT: Not under warranty any longer?
  19. I haven't had any "issues" with mine, but I've had better tires before... I have also never owned a snow tire, so I am not sure how they compare. Drive to the conditions and they should suffice... But, if it really concerns you then there are tires that are better equipped for the snow that are available. I am hoping to upgrade my wheels/tires this summer, so I may invest in some winter tires next year for the first time... Curious to see what all of the hype is about.
  20. "Best" is probably in the eye of the beholder (especially with something like this), but this would be a pretty sweet set up...
  21. Paid $1.85 a gallon to fill up yesterday. Less that $35 for a full tank with the gas light on for a while. Woot!!
  22. Looking at the replies, maybe it only works in 2014's and newer? Pretty sure it works in mine (wife has an iPhone)... EDIT: Just realized the OP has a 2015. I will try and check when I get home tonight to verify...
  23. I'm picturing you listening on your stereo in the DJ while driving aggressively to the sound of the exhaust... Ha!
