I disagree 1000%. My retro was much less than the cost of these lights and the output is much better than any HIR bulb will ever provide. OP, I say do the retro yourself. Sounds like you have many of the components already and just need (i.e. want) LED DRL's. The retro is not difficult at all and you will save a ton of cash with better results. The projectors in that unit are low quality and designed for halogens.

Interesting... I didn't realize that is ever warmed up... I mean, I guess it got to like 10 degrees F yesterday for just long enough to cause a shitty afternoon commute, but with 25 mph winds it sure didn't feel warm and it quickly got back below zero so we didn't get too used to it.

I have never noticed it on a "slight" incline... Slight to one person could be extreme to another though. The one time I noticed it I was parked on the side of a road facing downhill. The guy in front of me was too close to get around, so I had to reverse up the hill. As stated above, after applying enough gas, the shudder (or however you want to describe it) went away. Didn't seem alarming to me, but we all have our own ideas of how a vehicle should act.

Haha! That's a great name for a window... Daylight opening, ha!

A torque converter in an automatic performs the same job as a clutch in a manual transmission...transferring power to the wheels. There is typically some slippage in a torque converter which sacrifices mileage. A "lock-up" torque converter limits that slippage by using an increased pulse of pressure around the 45-50 mph mark.

You'll have to forgive him... He is a bit upset at the moment. My old man works at Mercedes and they have plenty of issues as well. But, until you have troubles with a brand you tend to be blindly loyal.

I wouldn't give up totally on Corporate... You may have just gotten someone that was a bit of a dick. As annoying as it may be, sometimes you need to be a pest. Is this the dealer you described in your other post that was being very helpful? Sounds like a dealer issue to me. I don't see why, especially when there is an MIL on, they would not troubleshoot and fix the issue the first time. On my wife's car there was a very small amount of oil staining on top of the alternator and the dealer replaced every gasket above that point in the engine, even though they couldn't determine where the leak was originating. This is the kind of service I expect from my dealer and I would accept nothing less. Vancouver is a pretty populated area, surely there are other dealers you could try, no? Regardless, good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I have noticed this on mine before, but assumed it was the scenario your dealer described. It makes sense and is a very logical conclusion. If there were other symptoms that went along with it I may be more concerned, but there are none.

What was wrong with them that they were determined to be "defective"? Symptoms?

Looks great. Thanks for taking the time to post pics!

$14 for drop-in hockey??!!! Ha!!! That is down right hilarious...

I take the lack of picture to mean you did not remember? Ha! If you do, it would be great! Thanks!

Ha! I've heard of this so called hockey rink in Honolulu... Kind of like Sasquatch, I'll believe it when I see it! We typically go the Mexico route as it is cheaper, but yes...a well placed escape makes winter seem a little quicker.

Exhaust muffler journey 3.6 2013

You're going to get answers all over the place on this one... I agree that magnaflows sound the best after having tried a few of the major brands on other vehicles. Blowmasters are raspy and cause a lot of resonance in the cabin in my experience. There is no direct replacement listed, but if you crawl under your DJ you should be able to get measurements that will help you find the correct model to fit with the least amount of fabrication... Or, just go to an exhaust shop and pay someone else to do the leg work. Good luck. -
Pretty common these days to have a single gear too... Not me!! Too many damn elevation changes for that!

I have a buddy who has one... Real hardcore bicyclist... They aren't bad at all. No slower or heavier from what I could tell, though I don't have a very nice bike and his was several thousand dollars, so it may have just been lighter than what I am used to.

I'm curious if this happens at all gas stations, or if it is limited to a single station (or maybe a handful of stations)... I don't have the issue on my 14, but from time to time it will happen when I use a certain shaped nozzle at a gas station I don't typically visit. Even then though, I can get it to fill, I just need to fidget with it a bit to find the right angle. I think it has something to do with the angle of the nozzle in relation to the filler tube...

Yep... Those things are all over MN right now. Real bicyclists don't give a damn that it is snowy and cold out... They just keep on trucking. I have to admit, I admire that people do it, but you'll never see me doing it!! Ha!!

My wife complains about winter every year... I simply tell her to remember when she was a kid. Why did we love winter then and hate it now?? Because when we were kids we didn't give a damn and we went outside and had fun. As adults we sit in the house and complain that it is too cold to go outside... Winter has very unique activities that can't typically be enjoyed in the other 6 months of the year (winter is long in MN ). Get outside and have fun; that way winter doesn't seem so long and it can be enjoyed for the unique opportunities it provides! Winter also helps to put summer into perspective. No one who lives where there is no real winter can have the same appreciation for the spring and summer months as those of us who deal with real winter weather. Personally, I love it and wouldn't trade it in for the world. Maybe when I'm a bit older and unable to enjoy it I will change my tune, but not before then!

Care to post a pic of them? Especially where they line up with the plastic trim by the door? I have a set in the wife's Avenger and am considering them for the DJ, but the Weathertech ones look a lot nicer than the Husky mats in the Avenger...

I'm thinking that the list of things right above your post was the diagnosis of a mechanic... I was thinking the same thing though and agree.

Ahh... this is sounding familiar, but for a different issue... Was the wiring binding in the door jamb??
