2010 Journey SXT engine stall during operation
Lobitz68 replied to tkinok74's topic in Engine & Transmission
Sounds like time well spent. Nice job. -
Nav Screen 2009

Yeah, it's not going to be cheap... I would check scrap yards. -
Frustrating... Who smelled it, the service adviser? Any way to get them to get a couple of noses in there to give it a whiff?

Wipers Always On, no turn signals, etc...

I agree with dhh3... Have you gotten a second opinion? Have they detailed how/why the cluster is suspect? That's an expensive repair if they are just guessing... -
BTW, your retro looks great! The amber halos are really growing on me lately... Care to share info about the project?? Also, I think I already asked you this somewhere else, but didn't see a reply. What are you planning on throwing in the fogs??

This is fairly exclusive to the 2.4, not the 3.6 that you have. My wife's Avenger does this and every 2.4 I've ever heard has done this. I believe it is related to the oil draining back and how long it takes (when cold) to get oil back up there, which wouldn't be resolved by a thickener...maybe by something that keeps things lubed up there even after the drain back would help, but I don't know that it is worth it.

I agree with Powerz69, even if they are, they shouldn't tough to get open given their size.

Sounds like you need a new head unit or screen... -
True... Of course, I will still use my brake because that is how I was taught to drive and it makes sense.

Projector Retrofit Started (finally)
Lobitz68 replied to Lobitz68's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
The projector doesn't seem too small, I would just get a bigger shroud. As Powerz69 stated, I am contemplating changing out my shroud. Mostly, just because I want it to be deeper, not necessarily larger in diameter. Although it will have to get larger in diameter to get a deeper one in there (due to what is available). Are there better projectors than the MH1? Sure there are, but the output on these things is far better than any aftermarket option and better than a lot of oem projectors. Add to that the ease of the install, and it is a winner for very little $. I see you asked about the fogs... throwing matchboxes in there?? I am seriously contemplating it at the moment. -
Yeah... That's what I was getting at when I said it doesn't seem to like to lock with the door open. Wondering if that is the issue. Does it when my kid takes his sweet time getting out and I lock it before he closes the door... I generally us the outside handle to lock the car after the door shuts. No issues and no honks that way.

I would guess that they aren't, but that is just a guess... If you open them up, let us know!

Should be VERY similar to any other Dodge. I replaced the upholstery on 2 of my last 4 with Katzkins leather and it was extremely easy. Seat bolts to the floor (easy to see). Unclip any electrical connectors before trying to remove the seat. Upholstery clips to the bottom of the frame with little plastic clips. Going into it blind should be no worse than going into it with years of experience. They are very basic. Good luck, and if you do make a video, post a link! EDIT... Probably need to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes or so before you start. There are airbags in the seats.

I would personally go late 2012 or later...

Everything below the paint on the front bumper is different on the Crossroad. Even the fog light surrounds are different molds...

2012 Journey - Factory Wiring found by spare tire - how to use?
Lobitz68 replied to AaronC's topic in Hauling & Towing
Why not just put some felt or other soft fabric under the magnet lights? They are strong enough that they would still stick... Seems a lot easier. -
My retrofitted headlights arrived
Lobitz68 replied to Totemus's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
Bad info, I was thinking about my Avenger headlights... The DJ has no lip. I am considering opening my retro up and changing the shroud out for something a little bigger (hence the PM I sent you), so I am considering an LED strip while I have the lights out... If you have the hockey stick ones, then they are not flexible, correct? Maybe around the fog housing, or in the corners where totemus mounted his?? There is a gap under the hood in the front, and a flexible LED strip could mount anywhere on the outside of the headlight housing and be seen (would have to be the side emitting LED strips). The headlights aren't difficult to remove, but it is time consuming. You need to loosen the bumper and remove the grill to get them out. Even doing that, it is still very tight and will take some patience to get them out and back in. Put it this way, it will take you longer to get them out and back in than it will to install and wire the lights. -
Is it normal to sit at a stop sign on a hill without your foot on the brake? No, it is not... All cars will roll back to some degree on a hill. The DJ idles very low, presumably for fuel efficiency, hence it may roll back more than a vehicle with a higher idle. I bet you don't notice it at all with a cold engine (and thus higher idle).

I agree, there is a parasitic draw on the battery from something. They can easily test for that if they are competent mechanics. It should be easy to narrow down what is drawing power from the battery by isolating the circuits. Once the problem is found it should be pretty easy to remedy.

You have??? I can't recall a single post about AWD troubles??? I bought the lifetime bumper to bumper warranty. I plan on driving this thing until my youngest is of age and then letting him drive it. The warranty will pay for the repairs until the cost of repair is greater than the value of the vehicle... Should get well past 100,000 miles.
