  1. I'm not as old as you (ha!), but I have always done this as well... It's a cold climate thing and your explanation is perfect. Even parking a garage it gets cold enough that I need to do this.
  2. There are a lot of Dodge Chargers here in the States that are used as police interceptors, so I would assume that they are available. Unfortunately, that is all I can add, as I have never seen them being sold anywhere. Have you tried searching the internet?
  3. I have used Coopers on previous vehicles with great success. Same thing with the Yokohamas. That being said, I wouldn't say that just because your current set lasted that long that ALL Yokohamas will last that long. It all depends on the type of tire and the rubber compounds that are used in it's construction...
  4. Damn it! Can't see the pics... they must be on one of those damn photo hosting sites that I can't access from work. Glad you got it worked out.
  5. Buy a Toyota or a Honda! They are PERFECT and NOTHING ever goes wrong with them... any of them.
  6. This... Unless you want to do a full upgrade, this is going to be your best bet. Watch out for impostors... Silverstars are junk, I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
  7. Oh man!!! Are those available again??!! I want some. Damn...
  8. The short answer, is yes, this will shorten the life of your HIDs... Will the amount of time it shaves off of their life be noticeable?? Hard to say. I don't have auto lights, but if I did I wouldn't leave them on as this is a pretty standard issue for HID lights (the one not coming back on as you described). I have seen this pretty consistently on auto-on lamps on all different makes and models. Also, your specific HID set may play a role in this. Do you use a switched harness to power your HIDs? You can get add-ons from several manufacturers that are supposed to help with this issue, but I can't speak to their effectiveness. Good luck and report back with results.
  9. Are there pics up and I just don't see them??? Or are you slacking?? Review?
  10. You can't navigate through the screens when you are on the phone?? I could swear I have done this before...
  11. Location of the fob shouldn't matter once the vehicle is running...
  12. Looks like you made it into the driveway at least!
  13. Had to do the math real quick... at 7,000km you are at about 4,300 miles. You will likely start to see better mileage as you close in on the 8,000mi mark (~13,000km). I have seen this on my last two new vehicles (both Dodges).
  14. I've noticed! Ha! Lots of oldies popping up lately with your name all over them! At least you are adding to the conversation and posting useful information... some people do this and don't add anything. They say something like, "yeah, me too." and then we have to look through 80 posts with nothing useful added to them. Way to buck the trend!
  15. What's that? Allowing the car to continue to run until shut off?? I would disagree with that... What if your battery went dead in your FOB while you were driving, or your crazy girlfriend threw it out the window because she found out you were cheating on her with her sister?? I could think of a bunch of reasons why you wouldn't want the vehicle to shut off as soon as the FOB leaves the vicinity. Seems to me like they actually thought it out and this is a safety feature by design. I work in the medical device industry and, much like the automotive industry, we need to consider anything that could go wrong and design in some sort of control to mitigate the risk to an acceptable level. This is likely one of those types of design outputs on the DJ.
  16. Best description I've seen so far... I just say accelerate a little faster. Same concept and the outcome is smoother shifting. She already has a lawyer though, so clearly she isn't interested in any sort of normal resolution of a minor issue... SUE THEIR PANTS OFF!!!! WOOT!!!
  17. Yeah, don't be silly... NO ONE reads the manual... From what I can tell it is easier for most to come online, ask the question while complaining a little bit, and then wait days for an answer that they could have located very quickly had they looked at their manuals. To save money, manufacturers should ask if people want them before delivery. Since 80% of them don't look at them anyways, why print them??
  18. I will third the wiring... You may want to find another dealer too. While I understand that they need to be able to replicate the issue in order to solve it, they should also be able to use their heads for something besides holding their ears apart. Sounds like lazy idiots that won't even attempt to THINK in order to troubleshoot. These are the worst kind of mechanics... "If the answer is not written down somewhere or there is not a code then I can't do anything about it..." Very annoying.
  19. Just someone who came on here to complain. Literally their only post. They show up from time to time and bitch about the most ridiculous things. Mechanical things will fail from time to time, some people are too busy bitching about everything to realize that they sound like idiots.
  20. It's not a true AWD system. The vehicle decides when you need AWD and activates it for your. There is definitely a lot of interaction with all of the control modules in the vehicle in order for it to operate. Are you have difficulty with FWD? A lot of our Canadian members use the FWD and are very vocal in letting us know that it handles great... Perhaps winter tires are your cheapest option if you are having troubles?
  21. If you are ever able to make the wife happy then you sir are a magician...
  22. The vehicle was not remote started, she got out and left it running... These vehicles will run until the first time you shut it off, even with out the key in the vehicle. There will be an annoying chiming the entire time, but the vehicle will remain running.
  23. Looks like the OP hit it and quit it on this one... only 2 posts and they are both in here.
