strut and bearing replacement, floaty steering
Lobitz68 replied to dodgejourney2012's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
Another buyer of a used vehicle with issues who has decided it is a brand issue... such a ridiculous concept that I am surprised I read it so often. Sell it and go buy a Toyota. I heard they never have any issues, even on their used vehicles. -
Undercoating and does it quiet the interior noise
Lobitz68 replied to adelorme's topic in Accessories, Modifications
Bringing back posts from the dead all over the place, ha! At least you have something to add though... I think that the original post was referring more to the undercarriage and specifically to road noise (though my DJ is damn near silent, so I'm not sure what the issue was on his). I've seen the comparisons in composition, price, etc before... Any idea on the weight trade-off between the two products? I would assume the asphalt is heavier, but have never used either product in a capacity that would allow a factual comparison. -
I'm pretty sure this is not the same 2.4l as the older Neons etc.

Back pressure does not exist... Exhaust improvements create improved velocity of the exhaust gases which is what creates the additional horsepower. There is a pressure differential within a vehicle's exhaust system, but no "back pressure." As far as CAI's go, I agree with you completely in that the vehicle already has a CAI. If you remove the stock system and put a short ram (let's be honest, that is what most people use) intake in you will without a doubt see losses as the warm air will not be as dense and therefore you can not get as much air into the engine. The stock system is a nice compromise in that it is a CAI and is quiet. If one wanted to gain a couple horsepower and a little torque (likely unnoticeable without further modification of the intake and exhaust) they would be better off adding smoother tubing to the factory box. It's not that the the engine and computer will compensate for the CAI, it is that they are already tuned quite well and in order to realize any gains you are going to have to put in a LOT of work. Much more than a CAI or an exhaust.

Looks like you answered most of the questions I just asked in your other post... Curious to see if you like this one better after you get som more seat time...

A Crossroad eh? Pics? How do you like the new one? Night and day better than the old? Curious if your opinions align with others that have owned both...

Shifting hard/ Possible Buy Back issue
Lobitz68 replied to Denver Alyse's topic in Engine & Transmission
Ha! For the shifting to be bad enough for me to involve a lawyer it would have to be pretty bad. I don't know how Dodge could say that shifting THAT bad was normal. Honestly, people are too eager to sue these days. The "issue" sounds to me from the description to be exactly what the dealership suggests. To say that only one person should drive the car is dumb (doubt that was actually said with a straight face), but if the people driving the vehicle have 2 very different driving styles and they are swapping back and forth often, I could see how it may act that way. I'd bet my lunch that if driven a tad bit more aggressively, the "issue" would go away. -
How to remove headlights from my journey
Lobitz68 replied to Cody Chornobey Powley's topic in Accessories, Modifications
I had to do this as well... No way in hell they are coming out otherwise. -
Never seen a Durango that looks even remotely like a minivan... Our DJ's look more like a miniature minivan than a Durango (EASILY the best looking SUV out at the moment).
-
This... Although I would paint it off of the car. Tape should do the trick if you take your time and do a good job.

No. There are several that will fit, like the Avenger 3.6L one... Or, you could make your own. Personally, I think that the scoop in front is getting plenty of cold air in. If anything, I would just replace the tubing with something less turbulent to create smoother air flow. I doubt that you will get any benefit out of a CAI without a complete intake and exhaust build.

I haven't seen your plates, but you've peaked my curiosity... Are these plates legal, or since you don't need a front plate in Indiana, they just don't care? Have a link to the company in Florida?

An axle replacement? Do tell...

Nope, but I bet the bottom is lined with vulcanized rubber... (hockey pucks)

Trailer Tow FLASH (2014 Journey Crossroad)
Lobitz68 replied to sharkbait8574's topic in Hauling & Towing
Hmmm.... I received no such harness. Everything else you mentioned was already installed when I bought it. -
Lately I have been noticing some VERY low profile deflectors on vehicles in my area... not sure who is the manufacturer as I tend to see them on the freeway, but the writing looks like it may be lund... I HATE bug deflectors, but these ones are hardly noticeable,

Resonator delete 3.6 2013
Lobitz68 replied to Emmanuelsxt6blacktop's topic in Accessories, Modifications
Best bet is to crawl under and measure the stock unit and note where the pipes exit the muffler (or go to an exhaust shop and have them do it)... They will have one that fits. -
Perhaps the most recent cold spell has something to do with it? I agree though, it has something to do with venting.
-
Ha! Maybe a little bit of both!! Who says I forgot??? Maybe I intentionally left that info out because it didn't help my argument... Ha! Regardless, it's way to early in the year to be this damn cold!! Although my pond is ready for hockey, so I guess there is a silver lining...

-20C is only -4F... Don't let there silly measurements north of the border fool you.

If you swim across it, then it doesn't count!!

Actually, according to Chrysler, they are imported from Detroit! But, that is damn near America at this point. If it doesn't travel over seas then it can't be a quality product...

Trailer Tow FLASH (2014 Journey Crossroad)
Lobitz68 replied to sharkbait8574's topic in Hauling & Towing
I supposedly have the towing package, but did not receive any sort of harness... Does it coming with the towing package or is it somehow separate? If separate, what package does it come with? For clarification purposes, I do not have the receiver installed, just the tow package... -
definitely something you can live without... until you've had them.
