Window Vent/Visor/Deflector Recommendations
Lobitz68 replied to ozboy's topic in Accessories, Modifications
Are those the in-channel ones or mounted on the exterior?? I have never had an experience where they add noise. Was is noisier with the windows up or down? -
Sounds like you got your answer, but yes, the powertrain warranty should transfer... Let us know what you find out. A better description of the issue may be beneficial to others in the future as well.
-
Have you seen these installed on a newer DJ? There is very little room between the caliper and wheel on mine. I'm doubting that they would fit in there. May have to just paint them...
-
Where there is a will, there is a way... I don't see why you couldn't add it to the passenger side as well. You'll just want to make sure that any wires that are exposed in order to get them into the cushion are protected sufficiently. Over time they could wear out from opening and closing the seat...
-
Indeed, you are "average"... Ha! I guess my point was that audiophiles (or even audio enthusiasts) usually pick up on small nuances in the staging, clarity and overall sound quality more so than the "average" listener. I wouldn't put myself in either of those categories, but do enjoy upgrades that offer an improved audio experience as I enjoy listening to my music as it was recorded...something you just aren't going to get out of any oem sound system. That being said, it does not sound bad at all.

Yeah, sounds like you are definitely still under warranty, so I would try and make the drive to a reputable dealer. Their response is not only stupid, it is lazy and borderline negligent and I'm sure Chrysler would love to hear about it. As stated, the trickle charger is a band aid for a problem that can be easily fixed. Please check it out and report back with your findings. P.S. - I would avoid installing the charger permanently as you should/will NOT need it once this is fixed.
-
I second these questions! Please share...

Care to elaborate??? When you say no power, was the vehicle running and was sluggish? Did it shut off? Any codes get thrown?

It sounds like her dealer is incompetent at best... But she should definitely get it to a shop and have them look for where the parasitic loss is coming from. Worst case, it points to something proprietary to the dealer...best case, they find it and fix it for her. Either way, I agree she definitely needs to get it to a COMPETENT mechanic.

I guess Minnesota is in the Northern Plains... So, I shall post. What up Northern Plainers??? Cold enough for ya out there?!!
-
To organize get togethers, discuss local events... Meet people in your area who own a DJ. At least that is what they are usually used for...

What kind of trickle charger do you have? A Battery Tender?? Your best bet is to look up the user's manual online if you don't currently have it. If it is designed to be permanently attached then you could absolutely do that... As for where, you'll have to just find a spot that makes sense. There is room in there, but not a lot.
-
Yeah... you could do it either way, but since the battery is a pain to get to you can just use the jumper terminals on the shock tower (that's why they put them there). EDIT: Make sure you are connected positive to positive and negative to negative!! Turn on the unit AFTER it is connected.

Shifting hard/ Possible Buy Back issue
Lobitz68 replied to Denver Alyse's topic in Engine & Transmission
I wouldn't say that mine shifts "smoothly", but it certainly doesn't clunk or surge... Perhaps the way I drive is suited for this transmission?? It is a topic that I see a lot though, so you are not alone. I do occasionally notice a clunk from 2nd to 3rd when driving down my drive to the street... About the time I get ready to apply the brakes, the vehicle is ready to shift into 3rd. Sometimes it will shift up when I am no longer accelerating and give a light "clunk"... It is definitely not something that happens all the time though and I am able to control whether or not it happens. -
I would google your specific model for exact directions, but you basically put the positive wire on the jump (+) terminal and the negative on the negative terminal on the driver's side shock tower. Obviously your heated seats should have nothing do with your dead battery (unless they are aftermarket and were installed wrong), so your "dealer" is clearly full of morons. Take it to a good shop and find out where the parasitic draw is coming from. A reputable shop should be able to hunt it down for you.

Every time I go to that site it is loaded with cheap Chinese garbage... Is it really worth taking another look, or just more of the same?
-
I can't say for sure one way or the other, but he likely has the smaller brakes... Might fit. Might not.

Just ordered! 4 cyl vs V6?
Lobitz68 replied to af3ll's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Competing Products
I am in rush hour traffic both to and from work every day... I would say that I drive approximately 70-80% "city" and I get about 23-24mpg consistently. (just posting for comparison purposes) -
Parking Brake Light Comes On Randomly
Lobitz68 replied to Chad Cole's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
Was going to disagree with your disagreement (ha!), but Webslave beat me to it... Seen it a thousand times. When you change the brakes, siphon out the extra fluid. Done deal. I'm a little late to the party, but I agree with the consensus... Add a little fluid until you have the opportunity to get the brakes checked. -
Mine does not display these characteristics at all... Perhaps someone blew the speakers before you got the vehicle? The satellite is "tinny" sometimes, but I have never heard anything that I would describe as "absolute garbage" come through my speakers (unless the wife is listening to her music, ha!). I have the 8.4 if that matters...

Just ordered! 4 cyl vs V6?
Lobitz68 replied to af3ll's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Competing Products
I agree with everyone else... I have the 4 cylinder in my Avenger and it is sufficient for that, but I have the V6 on the Journey and wouldn't even consider the 4. -
Parking Brake Light Comes On Randomly

Just because it is sealed doesn't mean that the fluid level won't change. It seems premature, but brake pad wear contributes to the fluid level going down...
