Morimoto MH1 7.0
Lobitz68 replied to vozaday's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
That's kind of my stance too... we'll find out when we get in there. I'm still kicking around going with a quad set up in my head. Of course, then I would have to use the MH1 6.0's that I am currently using, so I'm not sold on it... -
Custom Projector headlights

Personally, I like black more than chrome... The only chrome on my DJ is the high beam reflector bowl.- 20 replies

Even if you got it done on your own dime for inspection, they should cover the repair retroactively.

Morimoto MH1 7.0
Lobitz68 replied to vozaday's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
I went ahead and ordered the mini D2S 3.0's (the square ones) for my next project... I think I am going to go ahead and just build all new lights (i.e., get rid of stock markers, blinkers and highs) and incorporate as much aftermarket stuff as I can into the housing. Thinking switchback halos and a switchback strip for sure. Not entirely sure what I want to do with all of the extra space that will be available if I axe all of the stock lights though. -
People find it strange that I know the Canadian anthem... Hear it so many times during the year, how could I not?!! Those Preds are some dirty little pricks this year. Lead the league in penalties and are taking liberties with everyone. Too bad the era of the tough guy is all but gone; I'd love to see someone take care of those guys and remind them what they should have to endure for being cheap.

Didn't get quite as much as they thought, but it was pretty slick last night. Zero issues so far. I didn't notice the slick roads like usual, so I am guessing they are working quite well. So far we have had 2 small events and they have performed as if the road was wet rather than snow and ice covered.

Gotta love new rubber... the winters I recently installed look mean, wish there were some all season options with the same look.

This could definitely be done, but I doubt that the dealer would do it, as it would likely require an aftermarket solution...

Question about rear turn signal tailights
Lobitz68 replied to DJfan's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
I'm just using the outside lights as turns, not the ones on the hatch... -
Worked great for taping lines on my two-tone stained cornhole boards though. I wasn't very confident that it would work, but I ended up with very crisp lines staining wood with two different shades.

Very noisy when driving through puddles or snow
Lobitz68 replied to ladybug's topic in Exterior & Body
I wouldn't say that it is a loud vehicle, in fact I think it is fairly quiet for what it is... Keep in mind that as temps get colder, sound travels better and everything seems a little louder. -
Custom Projector headlights
Lobitz68 replied to Brandon E Harrington's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
Agreed. If you use the Mini H1's it is SUPER easy... I personally always buy a replacement set to work with, but it is still a lot cheaper than having them built buy a third party.- 20 replies

Question about rear turn signal tailights
Lobitz68 replied to DJfan's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
This should be as simple as adding a jumper wire from the turns to the markers... I love my LED rings as turns. Looks so much better. -
Not questioning the legitimacy of his question, just offering another POV... I wouldn't want to put too much weight behind this either, but I would be fine near 1.000lbs.

I have been meaning to do this since I bought the DJ, but was unsure if it would hold up to the dog... I guess now I will just spend the 30 minutes and get it done. Thanks. Make sure when taping a line with dip that the first coats are lighter towards the edges and that the last coat is very wet and overlaps the tape well. You then need to peel the tape while the dip is wet. You will get a nice crisp line that way.

Safety trumps necessity in my opinion... if that helps him feel safe, I say go for it.

Our 2013 Winterchill Journey Got Severely Backed Into

I understand your frustration, but an automobile warranty is a promise by a manufacturer or dealer that it will repair or replace defects in your vehicle. Unless you can show that this is the result of a defect (which will be pretty difficult as impact is usually pretty obvious and not a claim that would typically be made when unsure) you're kind of SOL. This is very standard across the industry... Have you seen the damage? Seems to me impact would show the damage going into the tank whereas if the tank gave out to pressure the damage would be going out of the tank.

Custom Projector headlights
Lobitz68 replied to Brandon E Harrington's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
worth is really something each person decides for themselves... If you get a starter projector like the Mini H1, it really doesn't require any mechanical inclination to perform. That being said, a properly done retrofit really provides for a nice driving experience and I can't get myself to drive a vehicle for very long without one. If I wasn't mechanically inclined enough to do it, I would seriously consider paying the price tag for a proper set.- 20 replies

Stuck on scan
Lobitz68 replied to Stacey Herperger's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Never heard of it. Try unhooking the negative battery cable for a bit. If that doesn't work, you should have a warranty on a vehicle that new. Use it... -
Hids in the fog lights
Lobitz68 replied to Brandon E Harrington's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
First off, the fog lights throw light EVERYWHERE. Please don't put HIDs in them, they will probably blind pilots in the sky they scatter so much. I have LEDs in mine, but our fogs don't really provide much usable light, so they are really just running lights that match my retrofit in my headlights. The bulbs I got are great quality, but the oem "fog" lights really aren't fog lights at all. If you want something better, I would suggest changing the housing to one designed as a fog light. They are fairly universal and you should be able to find a number of them at different price points.- 17 replies
