  1. I have had several newer cars that whistle at the mirrors... are you sure its the film? Mine whistles occasionally and I have no film.
  2. The question was if anyone has done it before and if it worked, not what parts make up the system. The dealer has said they will order the parts, but they want to charge her to install them because they don't know if they will work and don't want to be out the labor. So while it is true that she asked a question, the answer you provided was to a different question...one that she did not post. Regardless, it is good information for someone else if they happen to stumble across this thread in a search...
  3. Because it is mandatory in other countries... I'm glad I don't have them. Toyota is trustworthy company that makes a great car that is well worth the premium you have to pay to own one... Okay, well they make a car that has all kinds of issues and them sweeps them under the rugs for years until people die. Then they have massive recall after massive recall to fix issues they knew about the entire time. But other than that...way more trustworthy than other manufacturers. Ha!
  4. Probably north of $600. The video very clearly states who did them... Sick HIDs. http://www.sickhids.com/ His particular build is on this page... http://www.sickhids.com/#!chrysler/c1015
  5. Generally this is going to be very pricey. Your best bet is to do them yourself if you have any fabrication skills or just like to tinker. It is a very simple task (minus the custom etching, but you can get that done by someone else)...
  6. I don't think that was in question.... To the OP, it has been done successfully numerous times. Tell the dealer that you have found people that have done it and to get the damn thing installed (for free)!
  7. Have to agree with the others... Do you have another dealer in your area that you can try?
  8. There is a huge grommet right next to the strut tower that you can use to run wires. I can't see it taking more that 10 minutes if you take a beer break... This is going to be much more tedious... You can get the aftermarket kit with an aftermarket switch on ebay that will have a housing to fit the opening... personally, I would go this route as the dealer may charge you to enable them and the cost to add all Mopar parts is going to be significantly higher than aftermarket.
  9. I'd like to see pics on the DJ and perhaps the cutoff against a wall if you have time... What type of projectors are you using? Bulbs and Ballast? More info would be great...
  10. The switch in the cab is different for DJ's equipped with auto lights. Are you getting Mopar lights or something else? Are you planning on utilizing the factory switch? If so, you would likely need to replace it. I would just add an aftermarket switch and call it good enough... Should open up your list of options too...
  11. It's actually a South Korean company that has R&D facilities here in the U.S... They have been around since 1960 and have won many awards for the quality of their products over the last 50+ years. They also have a massive production facility in Macon, Georgia that supports a large number of American workers and supplies tires to North America... You should know what you're talking about before posting and spreading misinformation on the site. As jkeaton said, these tires are manufactured to Chrysler's specification and meet all ISO standards for the production of automotive tires. They are also used in luxury brands like Mercedes...
  12. Tough call on this one... You have paperwork (window sticker, email communications, etc.) where they refer to the BT connectivity? If so, sounds like a no-brainer... If not, it's going to be tough. Hopefully the dealer is stand up enough about it to try and make you happy if there was no paperwork, but I wouldn't put a whole lot of faith into it. It is still a business after all...
  13. Agreed. This topic is all over the site. Do as you choose, but following the 12 month or 10k miles recommendation or oil light will not affect your warranty. Some change it sooner because they like wasting money or are stuck in their ways, but there is no harm in waiting for the light. I would check your oil level at least twice a month though...
  14. They only have one post on the forum and it was a while ago... I doubt you will get a response. Generally the dealer would replace the screen given these symptoms.
  15. Seems fairly obvious that they didn't reset the system at this point (to be fair I have NO IDEA is it is even possible to reset it without the light being on). I wouldn't worry about it, just change it in a few thousand miles to ease your mind and carry on from there... done deal.
  16. I recall a post saying it did... however there is a lot more to the swap then just putting the assembly in.
  17. Nope, that would be the gross vehicle weight rating... the tongue weight from what you tow would be included in that number though. Here is an explanation of the terminology that you will likely see in your owners manual. http://www.woodalls.com/articledetails.aspx?articleID=153379
  18. Ha! Yeah... Two inches is just a hassle... Means that I have to go shovel off the pond before we can play hockey on it! What a nuisance.
  19. I have owned 4 Chrysler products (my last 4 vehicles) and they have all been trouble free except for a water pump issue on my old Ram. I also have many friends who have owned them and I have not personally seen any with glaring issues... They did have a reputation for bad transmissions a while back, but I've never even seen an issue with those among people who actually take care of their vehicles. Also, I would put no faith in a company that charges companies for access to their surveys, then charges them more to mention their reviews in their ads AND THEN offers them a consulting service (for even more money) to help ensure that they are reviewed higher in coming years... I much prefer an unbiased review, where the company purchases the vehicle, reviews it, and then makes NO money from the manufacturer...something more like consumer reports. JD Power is a joke IMHO.
  20. Two inches??!!! And you drove in it? Brave...
  21. Yeah, gold works with white, I'm just not a fan. It certainly doesn't look bad.
  22. 3 examples AND a tow truck driver? Sounds legit to me... I'm going to see about trading mine in tomorrow!!
