  1. Good idea... It probably took me 15 minutes to find enough posts to comment on or ask questions in, so it was no big deal. Ha!
  2. Usually the update from AA to AC (or any other higher value) is just a preceding part number. Meaning that the other number is no longer available and they updated the part... Should be the same.
  3. Seems like you could have came up with a useful post or two instead of bloating the thread with nothing....
  4. This... If the next gen looks anything like the concept (drool), it will be worth it. DEAD SEXY. That is all...
  5. Huh... I haven't had mine for that long (since early March) but I don't have that issue yet.
  6. Crawl underneath it... if it is 2WD there will be nothing but suspension on the rear wheels... If there are driveline components back there then you have an AWD.
  7. There's a topic in another sub forum here where one of the members is an employee at a dealer. Give him your VIN and he will have the option added. At that point your dealer can flash the vehicle and they will work... Your dealer can do it too, but it sounds like they are idiots. EDIT: Here is the thread... http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/5428-2014-dodge-journey-daytime-running-lights/
  8. Hmmm... The common denominator here seems to be that you are all Canadian... Coincidence?
  9. Plastidip requires no prep other than a clean and dry surface. I used a little less than a can on my bumper and a little less than a can on my grill, so I would assume 2-3 cans would cover it all. Some important tips for Plastidip: make sure the cans stay warm or you will get texture spray at a 90 degree angle to the surface you are spraying stay 6-8" away from the surface you are spraying the more coats the better - you may get coverage after a couple coats, but it will be a pain in the ass to peel later on, I use 5 coats minimum The first 2-3 coats should be 50 percent coverage, after that lay them down thick If you use tape along any edge that you want clean, you must peel the tape while the dip is still wet or it will peel the dip Check out dipyourcar.com and their forums for a wealth of information.
  10. I did my front bumper with Plastidip. Looks great and was easy to do. Plus, like apellefigliodapollo stated, it is removable if you ever decide you want to remove it. The bumper will look exactly like it does now.
  11. Doubt the coolant is related, but I would take it in and have it looked at as it certainly is not safe... We could help you troubleshoot, but you're going to need to provide a lot more information about the vehicle and what is going on when it happens.
  12. It's worth a look... It should be pretty obvious if it is leaking at the seam. There will be a stain...
  13. Sounds like you got a little worked up over something without doing the research. I'm not sure what happened, but it wasn't the remote start that caused any of your issues. As Journeyman425 stated more eloquently...it is impossible. Either way, sounds like a trip to the dealer is in your future. If you don't have the owners manual for your vehicle I would suggest downloading it online and reading it. Knowing how your car operates seems like something someone would want to know.... Good luck and let us know what they say about the O2 sensor.
  14. If nothing else it gives lots of great ideas to go with my 2014... Doubt I'm buying a new one, ha!
  15. That surprises me... around here they typically don't come with brakes until you hit 2,500lbs (more commonly 3,000lbs). Not that it is a bad idea, I've just never seen it. I used to tow a 30' camper with my Ram and the electric brakes are awfully nice. I did have surge brakes on my boat and these days you can still get the automatic reverse lockout and such on the surges, but I prefer the electric ones for sure. I cannot speak to the presence of brake controller wiring in the DJ, but every other Chrysler product I've owned (that wasn't a car) has had the wiring tucked up under the dash. Usually they are hidden on the back side of a large bundle of wires and are a complete pain in the ass to get to. I'd take a look with an extendable mirror of some sort, it should be fairly obvious if you get in there.
  16. An example table.... http://www.yokohamatire.com/tires_101/customizing/rim_wheel_width/
  17. 235 or 245 is too simplified... It will depend on what aspect ratio you go with (the second number in the tire size). Most (probably all) tire manufacturers should have a table showing what width wheels can be safely used for each tire size they offer. I would look for the tires you want and check the manufacturer's website. Obviously you'll also want to try and keep the same overall rolling diameter of the tire to avoid speedo calibration issues.
  18. Whether or not they stick out will depend on the offset and backspacing. Based on the pic, I would say that it won't stick out much if at all, most of the extra width should be behind the hub mount...
  19. If you look closer you will see that there is a diamond in their logo. Clearly that makes these superior wheels and justifies a 400% increase in price over other comparable wheels... You must not be in marketing
  20. Personally, I don't see the point in the 7-way... The DJ isn't able to tow anything heavy enough to use the trailer brake pin and I see very little need for the power pin (unless maybe you have a tent trailer). Not worth the extra hassle in my opinion. Depending on your dealer, the "flash" for the 4-way may be free, you may want to check on that. I would think that if you recently purchased it and the dealer is one of the good ones they would be up for a freebie. Aftermarket will be your easiest install and should be more than sufficient. That being said, I always prefer to go OEM if the benefit outweighs the cost.
  21. The cutoff is pretty good with the halogens, but the scatter is still really bad in that picture... There is a LOT of light above the cutoff meaning it is in oncoming traffic's eyes.
  22. Probably "Journey Crossover Utility Vehicle"??? Who know, after reading the description I think that is pretty close for these guys. Ha! I guess my thought was if you had a roll you would have a bunch extra for other projects if you wanted. The center cross in the grill is removable, so cutting it fit should be pretty easy theoretically...
