  1. The stock lows are 55w and the highs are 65w That being said, the advantage of HIDs isn't in the power consumption, but rather in the fact that they put out more lumens. A 35w HID will far outperform a 65w high beam halogen. The downside is that without a proper housing (HID projector) the light is scattered everywhere and not focused very well. So, all of those extra lumens are going into the eyes of oncoming traffic rather than being safely directed at the road.
  2. Yeah... that was pretty annoying. Whatever, I guess I know who to ignore now.
  3. Sorry, I haven't tackled this task yet. You should be able to find some installs on the forum. At least that would give you and idea of who to ask...

Wow... There isn't a whole lot of room left in there! I bet that thing hauls ass...
  5. It's not a color things, it's a lumens thing. A 9011 HIR bulb replaces your high beams (9005) and a 9012 HIR bulb replaces your low beams (9006). I believe Phillips is the only company currently manufacturing these bulbs. A stock 9006 bulb (low beam) is 55 watts and puts out approx. 1,006 lumens with a life expectancy of approx. 360 hours. The HIR equivalent bulb (9012) is also 55 watts and puts out approx. 1,875 lumens and has a life expectancy of approx. 1,000 hours. That's a 86% increase in lumens (how bright the light is) and a 178% increase in life of the bulb. A stock 9005 bulb (high beam) is 65 watts and puts out approx. 1,700 lumens with a life expectancy of approx. 350 hours. The HIR equivalent bulb (9011) is also 65 watts and puts out approx. 2,530 lumens and has a life expectancy of approx. 400 hours. That's a 49% increase in lumens (how bright the light is) and a 14% increase in life of the bulb. Instruction for trimming the tab can be seen here: http://store.candlepower.com/mohirbuba.html
  6. I should clarify... My 2014 has the rails, but not the cross supports (what we are talking about here).
  7. Nope. I have a 2014 and it was an add-on... At least in the states it is.
  8. Try reversing the polarity... Or are they working for a long time and then going? You should only need one capacitor on the battery side of the relay... More info on exactly what you are using would be helpful.
  9. Because in the good 'ol US of A we require instant gratification and bigger is always better. Whether or not that is a problem is certainly negotiable, but I would venture to guess that you already knew that.

The Hemi is in the AWD Charger, 300 and Durango... FWD would be tough though...
  11. They have a small plastic tab that needs to be cut off with a razor blade, but other than that they are a direct replacement.
  12. I wouldn't worry about a reputable brake rotor cracking. That being said, I would still go with dimpled and slotted. Also, having tried several different manufacturers and styles of brakes I can say for a fact that the dimpled and slotted rotors do provide better braking. Whether or not it is worth you hard earned dollar is up to you. IMO any improvement to how quickly you can stop a vehicle is nice to have...
  13. I was going to say that my DJ is extremely quiet, but I don't have an aftermarket exhaust either...
  14. they create more of a whirring noise. they aren't squeaky or anything like that... And that is just during non-braking times.

The 3.5 was offered in several vehicles. I'm sure there are the typical upgrades available... I would look for parts for other vehicles with the 3.5, assuming some of it should fit just fine... Not a lot of aftermarket for these vehicles as they aren't really marketed toward your typical enthusiast.
  16. it should absorb vibrations to some extent...
  17. If you don't want to go through the hassle of a projector retrofit and HIDs, then the best bang for your buck will be HIRs... Beware of impostors though!
  18. I believe they are referred to as "war stripes"... Kind of like the paint a Native American would put on their faces before battle... I have not seen them on a DJ but was thinking about putting some flat black ones on my black DJ. If you pull the trigger please post pics.
  19. Not expecting anything, I was just curious... The factory one dims automatically. And, I use my UConnect all of the time... Just curious is all.
  20. Sounds to me like he is asking for any known areas on the Journey where laying some dynamat may help reduce vibrations from the exhaust...
  21. Yeah, that's only about 1/2" bigger in diameter and width. MPH changes from to 61mph when the stockers would have been 60mph and at 90mph the new tires would only be off by 1.6mph (91.6mph)... For your reference: http://tire-size-conversion.com/tire-size-comparison/
  22. I love it when you use British terminology... Bits and bobs! Ha! The company I work for has a plant in Ireland and I love when I get to go there or they come here. The accent and different terminology is a hoot at the bar! Back on topic, care to post a pic?
  23. Yeah, I love the look of those. Once they are fully bedded and broken in they will stop so much nicer. One thing I've noticed (and it mentions it in the install instructions) is that they have a strong odor for the first few hundred miles...almost a sweet coolant type smell. Have you noticed that, or is it still too cold to roll the window down in CT?
