  1. Nope, though I've seen some valiant efforts. Someone on another forum added all of the required sensors, but Chrysler refused to add the sales code to his car to turn it all on. These vehicles aren't "ours" as much as we'd like to think they are...
  2. If you're thinking about spending $700 to upgrade your radio, you might think about just going for a 8.4 swap. If you buy salvaged parts from car-part.com, you could probably get it all taken care of for a comparable amount of money, especially if you don't care about Nav. You would need either an RB5 (Nav) or RE2 (non-Nav) radio, the 8.4 screen, the 8.4 bezel, and a new climate control panel with the SD card slot.
  3. If you haven't tried installing maps and get the unlock error, it's time for a new radio. Some of them have flakey flash memory in the Garmin module, and they tend to get worse over time. Get it replaced at a dealership. The Cherokee is using the 2nd gen system (assuming you're talking about an 8.4A/8.4AN system) that doesn't use the awful Gracenote onboard database to manage your music. It's much faster, and much better.
  4. If you keep updating the iPod, eventually something is going to go bad. Every iOS update takes it further and further away from how the radio was designed - and you're never going to see a radio update to keep up. As long as your music library contents don't change, the initial plugin should be fast. It should only index if you swap iPods or make changes to the music library.
  5. That's a tough break, but after 9 radios, I'd certainly begin suspecting that something else is wrong, unless the only thing off is the wrong song playing. The radio only does what the car tells it to do, so if it's being fed bad information, it's going to appear to malfunction. If your cable TV signals are bad going to your house, getting new TV's isn't going to solve the problem!
