Welcome to the forum. The transmission may be locking up too early
-
Welcome to the forum. My guess for the steering wheel would be the clock spring because nothing steering wheel related is working. This is the piece of metal that keeps constant contact when you turn the wheel.

New style 200, or old style 200?

The Nitro had a tow/haul switch. By shifting it manually, you did exactly what the tow haul switch does: keeps it out of OD and does not let the transmission lock up. I believe 5 and 6 are both OD gears but I could be wrong on this.

I knew that they made theses for the Nitro, but not the DJ. I like the blacked out effect on the front of mine.

Puddle light installation help
dhh3 replied to SeoulJourney's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
Ford puts them on the bottom of the rearview mirrors; that's why I asked about the doors. -
I'm hoping that it will not be just another redo of the Cherokee, but something entirely different. This will give me choices when I'm ready for something new. I get bored very easily.

They are still trying to get the parts off of the Jeep without anybody noticing.

Ah, but Crutchfield would be able to tell him exactly what f'in harnesses he would need. Ha

I've pushed it to see what happens. Light on the dash comes on until I turn it off. I have not needed it yet.

Puddle light installation help

I have lights on the bottom of the doors. Is this only on the new ones? -
Here is an easy fix. I have my seat all the way up, and it is a PITA to plug the seat belt in with the seat raised. I bought a seat belt extender. It looks just like the end attached to the floor. There are two kinds: one with webbing, one without. I bought the one without webbing on ebay. I plugged it in, and the chime has never come on again. And, the seatbelt is a lot easier to buckle.

Welcome to the forum. Since I'm rather new here, were there wires for the fog lights already tucked up somewhere on each side? If so, just plug them in, but you will have to take it to your dealer to have them activated, maybe.

I have never heard a commercial on sirius unless it is sirius related. -
Call Crutchfield. Tell them what you have, and what you want to do. What you want may or may not be possible. They are my "go to" guys. They have never let me down.

Is there a light, or any kind of indication, that tells you that you are in AWD? I'm slowly beginning to think that I really didn't need it after all.

The way TC works is that it lightly applies the brake to the spinning wheel and thus send more power to the wheel that has traction, sort of like a LSD. If both front wheels are spinning, you do not want the brakes applied, and thus would turn off TC I see that the AWD system shuts down on turns, to prevent binding. This would indicate to me that either the locking clutch or the rear end is not a differential. I'm thinking that the rear end does have a differential and the rear driveshaft becomes just a direct drive to the rear wheels. The 4x4 system was like this in my Nitro; but, I could turn it on or off with a switch. It electrically connected the 2 driveshafts, but the transfer case was not a differential like on a Jeep. I could see where this AWD set up would be handy on a quick start on solid pavement to prevent torque steer. I'm even experiencing a small amount torque steer when I apply the brakes. Indiana is the land of the flat! I happen to be lucky enough to live in the hilliest neighborhood for miles around. So there is one hill that AWD would help me, but so far the DJ has been a trooper, even with the hill was not plowed. I attribute this to the weight of the V6 over the front axles. I have yet to turn the TC off.

Custom firmware
dhh3 replied to zamoon's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
A lock pick will not allow you to change colors. It will let you watch movies while you are driving, and gives you the ability to add 2, possibly 3 monitors and allows you to have 4 cameras. -
Do all of the other buttons on your steering wheel work? If not, could be the clockspring.

It is 10 degrees out to day and I washed mine - I mean the Car Wash washed it for me. I just sat and watched all the colors. -
