  1. I'm thinking that if you slid a plastic panel removal tool on the rear edge it would disengage from the bottom, and then rotate up - back to front.. I just went out and looked. I'd try it for you but it is too cold: the plastic might crack
  2. You are welcome. This is what this forum is all about: fellow DJ owners helping each other out.
  3. Aluminum is also lighter than steel = less unsprung weight!
  4. The early Dodge Nitros suffered this same thing. Dodge finally earned enough mad customers that a recall was put out for a whole gas tank replacement. Whatever the problem was, it was not an easy fix; so, the whole tank was replaced. Good luck to you. My 2014 has never shown signs of this.
  5. If you read the post carefully, I did not put the name of the beer down, because I hate it! Now, if you read my signature, you'll see that I am addicted to Angry Orchard Red Apple Hard Cider. I have not found an apple in a bottle yet; so is this considered a girly drink? If so, then I guess that I am guilty as charged.
  6. Before buying the ball mount, you need to have your hitch in place and then measure if you need a 2" rise, or 2" drop, etc. You need to have your DJ and trailer on a flat, level surface, and you need a level to determine how the trailer sits. Then measure the distance between the center of the square hole in the hitch to the ground and the inside of the ball on your trailer to the ground. This will determine if you need a rise or drop with the ball mount. I see trailers all the time where the trailer hitch is either too high or too low. Makes for bad handling. When I'm ready for a hitch, I am going to let my Dealer do the installation so I can use the built in trailer anti sway electronics.
  7. OK, where is the beer with the lime stuffed into to neck of the bottle?

    New here! 2011 Lux

Welcome to the forum. Mine is FWD, so I am going to find out tonight how she performs in snow.
  9. And the Limited has aluminum wheels with Chrome Cladding glued on them. Maybe these should have a lock.
  10. Welcome to the forum. I bought a 2014 new, and I am not too concerned about battery life at this time. Some day in the future, I will go out and try and start it. If it doesn't start, I'll charge it and then go buy a new one. All this is based upon the fact if I still own the car when the battery takes a dump.
  11. Is the Jeep part of the fix? Nice parts there!
  12. I agree with disconnecting the negative wire to the battery. Radio issues take at least 1/2 hour, but the radio has a small battery to keep all of your presets. If this does not work, there may be loose/corroded contacts on the TIPM, or the TIPM itself has failed. These kind of things began happening on the Nitro forum, just as the warranty had expired. Since you are so close, maybe the dealer will slit 1/2 for you.
  13. This is an indication that it is in "limp mode". Get that baby to a Mopar Dealer pronto.
  14. You have to click on the picture. 1 member installed these, that I know of. Around $600. From China. Not plug and play, but a maze of wires. Not for me. I wish that someone here in the states made something for the DJ. I had them on my Nitro with CFL rings.
  15. Maybe they should think about Supercharging the Pentastar. The Hellcats have this on the Hemi: 700 HP+. I was just reading a story about Volvo coming out with all new engines. The low lines get a turbo; the high lines get a supercharger.
  16. Old habits are hard to die. Like me still putting in a quart of STP every time the oil is changed, whether I do it or the dealer does it. I have been doing this since I was a kid with my first car. No problems ever. Maybe I am wasting my money but I will continue to do it until there is a block on my head in the shape of and STP bottle, that reads "RIP".
  17. With my extended warranty, I get my oil changed and tires rotated every 4,250 miles. So, the dealer can do it for me.
  18. I think it is time that the US goes metric so that I could understand this!
  19. When I was in the Air Force, stationed @ Eglin AFB, there was a bay down there called Boggy Bayou. All the 4x4s were jacked up so high you needed a few plastic milk boxes or a small step ladder just to get in the damn things. Us Yankees referred to them as Boggy Boy Trucks. Maybe that was an honor. BTW, does the Avenger have the same wheel base as the DJ?
  20. Definitely the right front strut on mine but the service tech said everything is normal. What? Me worry!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. You are correct that your 94 GC is a unibody, as was the Cherokee that was downsized around 1984. However, your 97 Explorer definitely had a frame. I had a 2003 Eddie Bauer and a 96 Sport and they both had frames. In fact, all Explorers had frames until they came out with that ugly thing based on a Taurus which is based on a Volvo S90, back when Ford owned Volvo. Whew! The Taurus X should have been called an Explorer. There is my 2 cents!
  22. As long as your DJ is at the garage that you trust you will be fine. I know that this is easy for me to say. When I had my 2006 Jeep Commander, one of the employees got pissed about something, and backed into my Jeep going about 40 mph! They had to put it on a machine to pull out the support between the doors, a new front door and skin for the rear door. Took almost 3 weeks before I got it back.
  23. For what it is worth, the DJ has 12v going to the tail/brake lights. The ballast for the LEDs is located inside the housing.
