  1. Mine makes a clunk every time I back out of my garage. I was told that it is normal. Part of the Warranty, so I'm not too concerned,.
  2. Welcome to the forum. I trade in my 2011 Nitro, with all of the opions, so it is hard to say what I actually paid for it. There was a special going on the day I went in. A man form Chrysler was there. I qualified and received a $2,000 incentive to buy something. I also received my $500 Military discount. I went in to buy a Cherokee Trailhawk, but the DJ was $5,000 less, so it was a no brainer. I wanted the DJ as soon as I saw it: Copperhead Pearl glistening in the sun. I am curious to see how she does in the snow: FWD
  3. What you said was right, because that is the way I am doing it. I traded a Nitro for the DJ. It had an RBZ mygig, and I had the same issue. There was no rotator for the interior lights. The lights were on the signal light stalk. The RBZ also had an AUTO setting, but I could never get it to work either. I actually had to dim it on the screen; change from With Headlights to Without Headlights. No one on the Nitro forum knew how to do it. There was no mention of it it the manual of either the Nitro or the DJ. I did get a disc with the DJ but the CD player didn't like it, so I will never know if the instructions were on the disc. When I told my salesman about the disc, he told me to down load the manual because it was the same as the disc. I felt like telling him to go (well I can't say that here). No mention of it on the download either. I still find myself turning on the wipers when I actually want the lights! Old habits................
  4. Is the reason it won't come out of park have anything to do with the accident, or them not having a FOB? Maybe you can get a set of black headlights and a black grill. Then we'd be not quite twins, but close.
  5. That silver piece that goes across the dash is called Liquid Graphite in the Crossroad. It actually changes colors: it is light on the ends around the dash vents and gets darker in the middle where the switches are. None of the wood covers this piece. The kit comes with a piece that goes between the speedometer and tachometer, but I'm not going to use it. It will cover the Liquid Graphite! The wood is similar to the carbon fiber but it goes all around the center air vents and covers that flat shiny piece in the middle of the top of the dash.
  6. Out of curiosity, is the Blacktop package offered in black?
  7. I'll tape it to the inside of the window. If he can read it, no need to roll down the window and ask him what he wants!
  8. If it squeaks going over bumps it could be control arm bushings.
  9. Welcome to the forum. I do not that there is much made specifically for the DJ.
  10. Give me a break: I have never owned a CUV, or whatever, before. So, I figured some nimrod @ CR came up with this: Compact Utility Vehicle. The last one of those might have been the CJ5/7.
  11. Is that big black thing laying on the floor part of your DJ?
  12. I promise. I'm still trying to get good photos of my tires; the same size that were on the Red show Crossroad.
  13. What is a CUV? My insurance refers to it as a Sport Wagon.
  14. The Challenger engine sits N/S; our engine sits E/W, so I doubt if there would be enough room to do this. Do you know what transmission the Challenger uses with the 3.6?
  15. I want to keep my screen set to 10, when I have my wipers on during the day. Wipers on = headlights on. Sigh!
  16. The wood does not cover the piece going across the dash. It is called liquid graphite. The wood only coves the black around the screen, the glossy part in the center of the top of the dash and the top of top of the console where the cup holders are. So, it only covers the black areas, nothing else. Since the black is not piano black (highly glossed), the real burl walnut will add a tasteful addition, IMHO.
  17. Do you use itunes? If all your songs were in an itune library, you would have a huge ipod. It will recognize an iPod, so you should be able to use it as a giant ipod, as long as it is not updated to the latest software. Uconnect is not ready for that yet! Uconnect is working on a fix, but I do not, nor do they, know when it will be ready.
  18. I'm not sure if I can make this any clearer. 1. I do not have Auto Head Lights. 2. On Display Settings, With Headlights = 7; Without Headlights = 10. 3. No matter how I change the Display Settings, the Screen will NOT dim automatically. I have to do it manually with the interior rotator switch. 4. I have only 1 dimmer switch.
  19. I usually add a little chrome to my vehicles, but not this one. There is no match for the platinum trim on the outside. I'm adding a few pieces of real walnut burl wood to the interior, and that's it for visual effects.
  20. Universal - made to fit in tight spaces. It will even fit under my powered seat. I'm even thinking about getting a system amp. I think that Alpine makes a small one, but with good power numbers
  21. My screen does not dim when I turn on my lights, even if I put it in the Auto mode. I have to rotate the interior light rotating knob to the right of the light switch down one notch to get the screen to display at 7. I have it set: headlights off: 7; headlights on: 10 When I put it on Auto, the screen never changes by itself As I said, I can not figure out how to make it work in Auto.
  22. And this platform is a stretched and wider Alfa Romeo - good DNA to start with!
