  1. Mine has a Touring Suspension. On my build sheet, under optional equipment, springs are listed. So maybe I have stiffer springs (?). If it has dual exhaust, then it is a V6. The DJ performs a lot better with the V6. But, the members with the 4 cylinder seem to be comfortable with it, and it will deliver better gas mileage. This is my first FWD car in over 20 years. In that time period, I always drove 4x4s. So, this winter will prove to be interesting. I started a thread on this subject: FWD vs AWD. I was assured I would be fine. I'll update that thread with what I find out. I did put new tires on it, and under SNOW they are rated BETTER. Time will tell. Good luck with your test drive tomorrow. If you notice anything, ask us before you decide to buy it. There are many members more familiar with the DJ than I am. I've only had mine for 5 months! Oh, and take pictures. These guys seem to love pictures!
  2. Katzkin Leather Seats are a Mopar authorized option. The Dealer usually does not do the installation. They would use a local upholstery shop. Ask your local Dealer who they use. They should be able to tell you. I do know that you would need a special crimping tool for the clips that holds the seat covers to the frame.
  3. My rear seats are really hard to move back and forth. It takes a lot of pressure to lift the handle and push the seat. Odd. I just bought it new in June.
  4. Dual exhaust means it has the V6, but you did not mention it on the window sticker. V6 is a stand alone item under optional equipment. I'm getting my information from my 2014 Sales Brochure. Things may have changer for 2015.
  5. Read my last post again. I listed all of the features that are included in the Popular Equipment Group. Like I said, I wish that my Crossroad had these features. I added heated seats myself, and my old garage opener is clipped to my sun visor. Leather Seats seem to be a stand alone option on the SXT. Does the window sticker say SXT Plus, or just SXT?
  6. There are 8 styles of wheels for the DJ. The flex seat option indicates that it is a 7 seater. Popular Equipment: heated front seats and steering wheel, security alarm, remote start, Universal Garage Door Opener, and automatic head lights. I wish that I had gotten that option. I do have 7 seats.
  7. Welcome to the forum. I'm not sure how a "cracked powertrain" is related to tires and tread design. My guess on the grinding noise might be the rack. How many miles are on it?
  8. I don't know what that code is. Do you know the model name?
  9. According to Katzkin and at least one member on this forum, you can not add a heater to the bottom of the passenger front seat, because of some kind of sensor. I just had my local Katzkin dealer install my drivers seat heater. When I initially contacted him, he asked me if I was aware that I could only do the seat back on the passenger side. I told him that I was aware of this because I read it on the forum and told him to do only the drivers side. Mopar did offer a set, but only for the older DJs with old style dashboard. These will not work on the new style DJ. I am fairly new to the DJ, so I do not know what year the major change was. I have no idea what sensor or what it is for. I just edited this because I had back and bottom reversed. Sorry.
  10. Dodge asked me to do a survey report about a month after I got it, but I was never contacted by anyone who rates new car ownerships. I don't believe that CR gets paid to do tests; but, there are no adds and it is hard to believe that they would be able to support themselves with just subscriptions.
  11. Sounds like mine, as far as the options. What does it say on the lower right side of the tailgate? Or, it will state what model on the upper left of the window sticker.
  12. You may be looking at one that has the Blacktop Package. According to my 2014 sales manual, this package adds black !9" gloss black wheels, black headlights like mine, Gloss Black Grill like mine, Gloss Black outside mirrors - mine are body colored, Gloss Black Fascia Applique - mine is Platinum. Look at the tailgate, and see what is says: SXT, Limited or R/T. The base models will not have any badge. The grill is black with Chrome on base, SXT, and Limited. The R/T has a body color surround. I hope that this tells you what you are looking at. Also, the base (AVP or CVP) has a completely different body colored front bumper. My Sales Brochure is an early one, because the Crossroad isn't even listed. So, things may have changed since this was printed. My bottom grill is also black mesh, but it is too dark to see.
  13. I'm not sure what difference there is between the 2013 and 2014 fronts, but here is mine: the grill and headlights are blacked out on the Crossroad.
  14. OP stated that he heard a whine, but never stated that the fluid was low. The whine could be the pump itself is going bad. Just my 2 cents!
  15. CR got caught years ago for rigging tests on the Isuzu Trooper: tip overs. NBC got caught rigging tests on the pre 88 Chevy trucks: gas tank explosions when T-boned. Since then, I refuse to watch any car reports in print or on TV. If they get caught rigging tests once, what is not to say that they will do it again. I go with my gut feeling; not someone else's opinion. One little thing goes wrong, and people hate the car. Is that a fair analysis? I've seen it here on this forum, and every forum I have ever posted on. If you like the car, buy it. Your warranty will fix everything except consumables: tires, wiper blades, etc.
  16. I wouldn't call it bright, but it does change colors in the sun - The Pearl Effect. Because of the Platinum Trim, I think that this is the best color for the Crossroad, IMHO.
  17. My 2014 Crossroad has the same opening. I see the same thing, as in your picture. Something is held in there with the visible screw. Just forward of this hole is a round cap, which gives someone access to whatever is screwed in there. The round cap is visible in your picture also.
  18. I never noticed this because I always keep my foot on the brake. My DJ does not have a Subaru Hill-holder.
  19. I get a slight bounce first thing in the morning. It is more noticeable with the wider tires that I recently installed. I attribute this to premature transmission lockup, so I keep it in 5 until it fully warms up (5 minutes, or so). I am aware of 3 suspensions available on the DJ: my Crossroad has a Touring Suspension. Springs are listed as options on my build sheet, so I'm guessing I have stiffer springs. I'm not sure if anything else is different. I believe that the R/T has a High-Performance Suspension, but I do not know what the changes are. My guess is that all the rest of the DJ line may share the same, softer suspension. Members that have been here longer than I have can correct me I am wrong. I do not know the difference between my Touring Suspension and an R/T's High-Performance Suspension. The 7-seater may get different rear springs when compared to the 5-seater, but I'm just guessing here, because of the added weight that it can carry.
  20. My guess would be with AWD system. Do a search on the forum. I'm fairly new to the forum, and have read a lot of issues with the AWD system. I would guess that the clutch pack would be very expensive to change.
  21. Welcome to the forum. I have not had my DJ long enough to be able to give expert advice; and, I now nothing about Avengers either. Now, ask me a question about the Nitro, and I'd be right on it!
  22. When I had my 2006 Jeep Commander (bought new), this happened to me 2x. One day, everything was fine; next day nothing. Both times the Jeep was still under warranty, so no cost to me; only frustration. Each time, one of the cells failed, even though a battery check showed everything to be fine.
  23. Dealers will use every excuse in the book not to honor your warranty if aftermarket items are installed. Easy to play the blame game. If your dealer does the installation, then you will be covered.
  24. Fort Wayne has Komet Hockey Fever. They put ice on the floor of the Memorial Coliseum. When the second full time ice rink was built, no one thought that it would work. But, it is constantly full; free admission!
