But when you open the hood of the DJ, you can't even see the engine! LOL

Do you realize that when Mobil 1 came out, it would last over 100,000 miles, in their testing, with minimal deterioration! The talking heads at Mobil figured that the buying public would never believe this, so the reduced the life expectancy; probably to sell more oil!

Shifting hard/ Possible Buy Back issue
dhh3 replied to Denver Alyse's topic in Engine & Transmission
Just as an FYI, according to my window sticker, the transmission is made in the USA (Kokomo, IN.) and the engine is made in Mexico. I will be watching the engine more closely than the transmission. When I removed the plastic engine cover, I found a sombrero! -
I received a hard copy owner's manual in the glove box, and as I posted before, no disc. I mentioned this to my salesman and he told me that I could download what was on the disc; as a PDF. so, I'm fine until my POS HP crashes again! There is more information in the PDF than the Book! My window sticker says 5 year/100,000 powertrain warranty, if that helps you.

No disc with my DJ, but I received one with my 2011 Nitro.

2010 dodge journey key stuck

Isn't this like the GM recall? Does GM and Mopar use the same ignition switch? -
Katzkin dealer confirmed that only the back can be installed on the passenger seat. Driver's seat (mine) gets done next Wednesday.

Check and see if your cabin filter is damp.

Shifting hard/ Possible Buy Back issue
dhh3 replied to Denver Alyse's topic in Engine & Transmission
After the initial clunk (BTW, this does not happen very often - I should have been more clear in my post), once the 1 - 2 shift has occurred, I do not feel it shift at all, and do not even feel the the "lock-up". Initial start of the day, I try to give it enough time to get all of the juices flowing. Occasional clunk going into R if I run in and out of a store, but after reading all the posts, I am not concerned, and if an issue develops, my warranty will cover it. What? Me Worry? -
Hate to admit this, but I very rarely check my oil. The extended warranty that I bought gives me free oil changes and tire rotations every 4,250 miles. I would love to know where they came up with that number.

Can't Unlock Maps

Try this: for radio issues, disconnect the negative terminal on your battery for at least 1/2 hour. The radio has a small battery so you won't lose your presets. Let us know what you get. These cars have minds of their own, and sometimes you have to punish them! -
When I fill mine, I put the filler handle on the slowest fill point. When it automatically stops, it never spurts out any gas. Then I hand fill for a few more gallons. When it clicks off constantly, I just round out the cost. The needle goes way past "F" and I can drive it for at least 3 days before the needle has moved down to "F".

2010 dodge journey key stuck
dhh3 replied to Jeremiah Joines's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs, Locks & Remote Start
Welcome to the forum. I would start by replacing the ignition switch. -
What did he adjust to make the front ones fit? I really want the red because of the color of my wheels.
-
No troubles yet. Just curious. Forgot about the electronics. I did read that when the front wheels slip, the rear will engage. Must some kind of clutch pack with jelly in in. When there is slippage, the jelly gets hot and locks the clutch plates together. I'll just jack it up, and slide a Wrangler Unlimited Chassis under it.

engine shuts off while driving.
dhh3 replied to Jody Aistrop Slater's topic in Engine & Transmission
Maybe the ground connection on the TIPM is loose or corroded -
Does anyone know it the transmission on the FWD is the same as the transmission on the AWD? If so, is there a way to bolt on the transfer case to the FWD transmission? Then, all I would need is the drive shaft, rear 1/2 shafts and rear differential. Does this sound doable; it would be a lot cheaper than trading in my 2014.

I always keep my EVIC set to the fuel economy display. Driving the loop around Columbus, OH, last July, with less than 1,000 miles on the odometer, two people on board, no luggage, cruise set for 75 mph, it read a constant 36.5 and would go up and down a little, depending on the terrain.

Where is your camera located? On my 2014, it is integrated in the black strip that contains the license plate lights. It does seem to collect dirt. The tailgate is made of plastic. Maybe a change for 2014? Do you have the button to the left of the rear plate that unlocks it? Powered folding mirrors are just something else to go wrong later on in life. Just push them in and pull them out. Signal Mirror, made by Muth Co. will make a set of mirrors with the chevrons in them. You can choose between red or amber, Sub is in left rear panel. There doesn't seem to be enough room back there for a decent sounding sub. Kicker makes an amplified sub that will slide under the front seats. How are you opening the 2nd row for access to the third row? Use the handle that looks like it should be for reclining the backrest; the top side of the seat. Pulling this handle far enough will release the seat bottom, and allow it to rotate up. Then push the whole seat forward. It took me a while to figure this out! Lots of room to get in and out.

Undercoating and does it quiet the interior noise
dhh3 replied to adelorme's topic in Accessories, Modifications
I had mine for about three months, and had it undercoated by Ziebart. No noticeable difference related to noise. I did it to keep the road salt out of crevices. It still stinks every time I get out it after I have driven a distance. -
strut and bearing replacement, floaty steering
dhh3 replied to dodgejourney2012's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
Get the front end aligned. This will determine if you need new tie rods/ends. Also check the rack for worn/loose items. -
SOP for most forums. OP asks a question, then fixes it himself, and never re-posts the fix.
