  1. I get an occasional clunk when I move it first thing in the AM; park or reverse. Smooth at all other times.
  2. I have the petrol V6 auto, and there is a noticeable shake until it warms up, but only since the weather got cold. Shake is gone by the time I get to the dealer.
  3. Did you look on ebay? Sometimes you can find painted pieces.
  4. The link is licenceplates.tv. They will make any kind of plate that you want. Since Indiana does not require a front plate, I see a lot of European plates around here, on the front of cars. I have no idea if they are real, or replicas like mine. I have also seen plates from other states - Alaska and Hawaii come to mind. When I was in the AF, I had to go to the A10 school in Tuscon, Arizona. I went to college in Massachusetts, and had my initials on my plates. When I moved to Indiana, I put one of the MA plates on the front - never an issue here in Indiana. But, as soon as I entered Arizona, I was stopped, because I had two different plates. I showed him my registration, and the Trooper made me take the MA front plate off right there before he would let me drive away. It seems that cars are stolen in AZ and taken across the border. What a concept! Sometimes the thief doesn't have time to check the plates! As soon as I left AZ, I put my front plate back on and have never been stopped since.
  5. Welcome to the forum. Do you have the EU version?
  6. I bought the extended warranty also. Maybe your gloves need to be oily before you put them in the glove box! My Nitro had an interior air filter, but it was located under the glove box. And, the Nitro was designed before the DJ - a case of reverse engineering!
  7. Yes, it is from Austria. The W and the Crest are from Vienna ((Wien) and the 23 F are my Indiana Plate Numbers. There is a place in Florida that makes them any way you want; from every country. When I was still working, I had to travel to Austria 2 times to hunt down a new printing press for my Company. I fell in love with the countryside. Around 200 miles SW of Vienna, near Graz.

Do you have any Giant Viking bones buried by your pond?
  9. Welcome to the forum. I don't think that the oil filter is located in the glove box.
  10. Can you post a sound clip when you are done? I like the sound of the engine in my driver's seat, but there is not much sound at the rear.
  11. In the past, every bug deflector that I have used has caused a significant drop in mpgs. Is this the case for the DJ? I installed Weathertech in channel vent shades on my Nitro, and the noise was horrible. Is this so on the DJ?
  12. Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here. 1. What radio issues are you having? More details, please. 2. What is the issue with you DRLs? 3. What upgrades would you like to do? Not much aftermarket stuff specific for the DJ. 4. There is an new, awesome thread going on as we speak. Most of the inside panels on the left side have to be removed, but well worth the effort. The camera works only with the 2-8.4 screens; the camera is not compatible with the 4.3.
  13. Your's look like mine did at the dealer when they installed my camera. As far as the auto climate control, where the fan circle is at the bottom of the screen, when you push the Auto button, the fan logo grays out and there is a capital "A" in the center. You would also need the 3 heat sensors: LF, LR, and Rear. You have a lot more courage than I do. Very good job. The camera is very accurate, and I am very glad that I was able to talk my dealer into it as part of my deal. They paid for the camera; I paid for the labor. The book says 2 hours to install, so all I paid for was 2 hours labor. They had my car 3 days + weekend, and they paid for a rental for me! I have no idea where they got 2 hours! LOL I looked at the space also for the sub. I'm not taking that rear panel off! I found and amplified Kicker sub that will slide under my powered driver's seat!
  14. It does let in more air. I think that the idea is saving money for replacement filters, because you clean the K&N by youself.
  15. Glad to hear this. I bought mine in June. Just crossed 2500 miles! My transmission does clunk occasionally, and my driver's seat headrest keeps moving up by itself. No rattles. Very good, solid car. Now I have something to look forward to. I snagged a set of new cross bars off of ebay, as soon as I got it. Haven't had to use them yet, but at least I know that they are there. Most of my driving is around town. Initially I averaged around 15 - 16. Now I am constantly at 17 - 18. Last I looked: 17.5. Huge improvement over my Nitro. Just received our first snow - about 4"+. I'll see how my FWD takes it. This is the first non 4wd drive truck that I have owned in ovver 20 years.
  16. There is another thread concerning the LED lights. Poster asked me to take pictures of my connectors. I removed my lights on the driver's side and took pictures for him 2 months ago and the thread died. There are 3 wires going to the outside light, 2 going to the inside light, and the plugs appear to be interchangeable. The question would be if the inside unit LEDs are capable of dual intensities. First, take out the inside light. I know that there are 2 wires to the connector. When you take the connector off, see if there are 3 silver pins in the housing where the connector plugs in. If there are 3 pins, they should be able to be used as a brake light too. If there are just two pins, they can not be wired to be used as a brake light. If there are 3 pins, remove the outside light and plug the inside light into its harness, and see what you get. If you are lucky, and it works, you will need to get your hands on a pair of 3-wire connectors. Then you would need to tie a wire into your brake lights from the harness and run it up through the accordion grommet that connects the roof and hatch and run it to each lamp; then re-wire your inner lights with the 3-wire connectors. Simple, huh!
  17. Maybe it is the design of my back bumper, but the resonators are not noticeable. I like my music; the resonators stay!
  18. Possibly fuel tank filter is clogged, of fuel injectors need cleaned. The parking brakes shoes can become rusted inside the rear rotors.
  19. Welcome to the forum. I'll be curious to see if you can pull this off as a heated wheel might be of interest to me.
  20. I have a power port, but it is down at the bottom of that bin behind the cup holders. Hard to get to! Never tried it to see if it works. I just use the USB to charge my phone. I filed a round hole at the leading edge of the sliding tray inside the console, to make a slot for the USB cable. So, I leave my USB cable out all of the time. Doing this still allows the console lid to close properly and it does not pinch the cable. I asked the salesman for a USB cable at Best Buy. Didn't even look at it. When my phone is charging, there is a continuous stream of little blue lights traveling up the cable to the phone! It even lights up when I open a door before I start it! Matches my blue interior lights! Surprises all my friends. I'm curious to see how your music sounds via Bluetooth. Is you DJ still under warranty?
  21. Your CD player is where mine is. I have an SD slot right above the CD slot. My AUX and USB are also in the console Can you try playing music via USB, AUX and Bluetooth and see if it all sounds the same? What is that Plug hanging from the bottom of the dash?
  22. I don't think that it would be loose wiring. If it was loose wiring, I don't think the CD player would play anything. It has to be a bad CD player. We were posting at the same time! With luck, the CD player is a separate unit. Where is your slot for the CD? How are you playing music through your phone: Bluetooth, Aux or USB?
  23. The HU is a silver box, located behind the center stack. The antennas (AM,FM and Sirius) will be plugged into it, along with the plugs for the speaker and power harnesses. On my 8.4, there is a slot for the CD under the round heater/AC control knobs. On the mygigs, the CD player was located behind the screen; thus integrated with the HU. I'm not sure about these new HUs - the CD player might be separate. You can call oemautoparts.com. They are very friendly and helpful. I'd call them before you tear into it. As I said, my HU was just laying on the floor, and I really didn't look at it closely; so I'm not sure if the CD player is built into it. Now you have my curiosity going. I went out and looked at mine. By the contours of the dash and where my CD player is located, the HU may be mounted just behind the screen, which must be very thin; if the CD player is built into the HU. The harness for the BU Camera plugs into the back of the HU, but it only works on the 8.4 HUs. So, I have no idea why the tech at my dealer had my whole dash apart while he was installing the BU camera. So there must be some sort of difference between the HU for the 4.2 and 8.4.
