Can you push your light switch in, towards the dash? If so, your switch will work because that is how you turn on the fog lights. Just a thought. I concur that the fog light harness may already be there because of the way that they build cars today.

Remote turn, stop and tail light control
dhh3 replied to Timon's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
If you were to go to a salvage yard, you might be able to get the ends of the harness that plugs into the LED taillights and the one for the signals. For the taillights, the white wire is brake, the white with silver stripe is tail and the black is ground. If you could get these harness plugs, you could make a harness for each side. Then, it would be plug and play when you tow your Journey. -

Dual Mic auto dimming Mirror
dhh3 replied to darthalomus's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
I never knew why these mirrors had a power button, but I did find out with my Nitro. The Nitro had a sunroof, and as soon as I opened it, the mirror would change to black, unless I turned it off. -
iOS 8 & UConnect Issues
dhh3 replied to Armendegga's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
This is what I read also. I have only downloaded 8.0, not 8.01. When I check the phone for updates, it tells me 8.0 is up to date. So, I will wait for my Uconnect update, before I do anything again with my phone. -
iOS 8 & UConnect Issues
dhh3 replied to Armendegga's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
I had the same issue yesterday. I downloaded the installer 3 times, but it never let me go past the downloader to actually get the update. I called Uconnect yesterday. Uconnect gives their OS to all of the phone mfgs, so Apple should be working on a fix. I will try and call Apple today. They were very helpful trying to get all of my Album Artwork to display, But sadly, Uconnect no longer works with Gracenote. I made an appointment for next Thursday to have my Radio updated, since I'm unable to do it myself. The latest upgrade came out in early September. Upgrades are free as long as the vehicle is still under warranty. I'm going to play with my phone again today to see if there is anything I can do concerning music. The phone part works fine. -
True. The front and rear bumpers are different, with the satin chrome pieces. The roof rails are also satin chrome along with a piece under the doors. The headlights and tail lights are blacked out and the grill is black. The mirrors and door handles are body colored. The interior is a cross between the Limited and R/T: silver stitching, black leather with perforated inserts. The wheels are unique, and are blacked chrome. The dash is called Liquid Graphite.. I have never seen another one like it. It was the only one at my Dealer's when I purchased it at the end of June.

Aftermarket. I found them on ebay. I think I searched: dodge journey chrome They are not chrome; more satin silver. I thought that they would match the lower part of my bumper: they come close, but no cigar!

Dual Mic auto dimming Mirror
dhh3 replied to darthalomus's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
I believe the power button turns the auto dimming function on and off. The left green light will be lit when the function is on. The other one is the sensor that reads the intensity of light coming to the mirror, which makes it turn dark. Turn it on, and shine a flash light on the sensor - you will see the mirror turn dark. -
iOS 8 & UConnect Issues
dhh3 replied to Armendegga's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Now I know what happened last night with my music! iPhone5s with all my music on it. Initially, it did not remember the playlist that I started, but it went back to the first song, alphabetically. When I found the song that I wanted, the status bar stayed on the first song and my chosen song stopped playing when the status bar was full. I never gave the iOS a second thought. Now, I know what the issue is and we'll have to wait and see what happens. -
I'm curious how you got the sockets. When I click on the link, it takes me to the Jeep SRT8, and states that you have to send in your corroded sockets in order to get a new set.

I installed mine a while ago, and forgot about this thread! And, I started it! Anyway, as I posted in post #18, I could not find universal sockets. Initially, I was going to tie mine into the rear powerport, but then they would be on all the time. When I figured out the wiring on the left outboard tail light,I was hoping to find dual sockets so I could tie them in with the brake/taillights since the turn signals are amber. But, again, no luck finding sockets. So, I went with the Mopar harness, which included single filament sockets, and modified it to work. Obviously, there are some universal sockets, as "Kevin in MN" found them. But, mine were already done. Mine are wired so that they come on as soon as I turn on my lights. So, here are the pictures that I should have posted in August! I found the Satin Chrome surround on ebay. It comes close to matching the satin chrome piece on the bottom of my bumper. The light did help with the dirt issue on the bumper, but the molded mud guards seem to have almost eliminated it. Taillights on. The Fog Lights are slightly brighter than the LED Taillights. This is more noticeable the darker it gets. Brake Lights on. Here is is evident that these fog light bulbs are brighter than the LED Taillights, but not as bright as the LED Brake Lights. I apologize for not posting these sooner.

I went through hell getting my front bracket. I wanted to mount my front Austria plate correctly. The plate comes with a frame that requires it to be mounted flat. Screwing it to the bumper would not work correctly. I called my Salesman 3 times, leaving a message about getting a front plate bracket. The salesman finally told me that front plate brackets were not available, because Indiana does not require a front plate. I saw a used Journey in the lot with the bracket and asked my Service Manager if I could have it it. He told me no, and we walked into the Parts Department. Parts finally found it and ordered me one. They even installed it when I was having the rear camera installed.

I knew mine was a "hero" even before I read the build sheet. I had my dealer add the back-up camera. It should have shown up, but it didn't.

Thank you for the link. In the "Options" section, it lists 4 springs. I can rest easily now that I know that my car has 4 springs!

Since the Dart and Cherokee share the same chassis, let's hope that they don't add the Journey to the list.

Mine is Copperhead Pearl. As soon as I saw this, I had to have it! My last three trucks were silver, so this was a big change for me.

I think that the sunroof is only available on the R/T. My Crossroad interior seems to be a mix of the R/T and Limited.

Welcome to the forum. What is the difference between the Blacktop and the Crossroad; other than the Satin Chrome?

Is the Crossroad still available for 2015? My 2014 Crossroad came with blacked out headlights, tail lights and grill. It also came with 19" blacked out aluminum wheels; a design different from the other Journeys. I'm not sure what the difference is with the Blacktop package.

Again, thank you for the compliment. So far, I have added the cross bars, a Mopar rubber mat to cover the third row seats, and the S/S door sills. Not much out there for accessories! I will do some research on the tires. As long as all 4 are the same diameter, I don't see any issues, but I could be wrong. Thanks for the heads up. I finally left the Nitro Forum last week. It was my "home" for the past 3 years! LOL

Thank you for the compliment. My last 3 vehicles were silver, so this is not normal for me! This is the first non-4WD drive that I have had in over 20 years. I am considering swapping out the Khumos for a set of Bridgestones, This winter is supposed to be bad again. So much for global warming. Maybe I'll try out the tires for a while, and then decide if I need to change them. I went down to my dealer last week and they had a couple of Crossroads - one exactly like mine; but all were all FWD. Not an AWD to be seen! Thank you for the heads up. Time will tell. My Dealer said that he could install snow tires for around $600, but he wanted to mount 4. Why not just 2 in the front?
