Bluetooth connection
dhh3 replied to mfeel's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Uconnect only supports iOS7.1. If you have more recent software, it may take longer to pair with Uconnect. My iPhone 6s with iOS9.3.2 took 2 times to connect. The first time timed out. I would delete your phone, and try again. My phone sends and receives calls, but not text messages because of Uconnect's lack of support for Apple. When Uconnect comes out with Apple/Android Play, hopefully it will be a software upgrade, or we can install these new radios in our DJs. Then they will all play well together. -
Power Steering Hose investigation

Thanks for the update. -
Sounds in a car can sound like they are coming from one area when actually they come fro another area. Do you have the cross rails on your roof? There are recommended spots to keep the noise to a minimum. Front: 3 detents back. Back: rear most detent. If you don't have the cross rails, forget this jibberish! The detents are marked by a line on the roof rails.

Power Steering Hose investigation

On a 2014? Maybe I'll get a letter! -
There is a recall/TSB for one of the cylinder heads on the Pentastar, but I'm not sure of the model years that are included. Something to look into. It was fixed by 2014.

And again, welcome.

Bad cam phaser? This sounds like the other thread.

uconnect incoming call help
dhh3 replied to Andrew Roy's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Max the volume on your phone. At least on the iPhone, this will increase the volume of the caller. -
Start with a full tank of gas before you get in the desert. And bring water!
-
Ah, but you forgot about the intake vortexes that guide the air to the calipers!

I have holes! Maybe they are the brake cooling ducts!

The cam phasers advance and retard the duration of the valves being opened, for fuel economy and power. All sorts of inputs determine how long the valves should stay open. They rotate the camshafts back and forth to do this, and I believe that they use oil pressure to rotate them back and forth. If the exhaust valves were "stuck" in the wrong position, this could be the outcome that you are describing. If the position the valves are stuck in is for power, then they would be open too long for lower RPMs. Each camshaft (4) has its own phaser.

The front bumper must be more than the rear. My rear was $764.11. They reused the platinum piece, but now the little square piece on the left side won't stay in place. It is held on by a short tether.

2012 Journey Crew 3.6L - battery problems
dhh3 replied to slskene's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
When my old battery was out, I had them spay the entire metal tray with rubberized undercoating. Now I don't have to worry about the battery falling out! LOL Bottom of tray is now double undercoated as I had the vehicle undercoated soon after I purchased it; before its first winter. -
I had a similar instance with my Jeep Commander, except that the engine did not go off/on. It may have been an electronic hiccup with the TIPM. Try disconnecting the negative terminal on your battery for a half hour or so to reset the entire system. Something needing to be reset in the transmission would not cause the engine to shut down and then come back on by itself. Your English is fine.

Welcome to the forum. I have never seen an R/T Blacktop.

2012 Journey Crew 3.6L - battery problems
dhh3 replied to slskene's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
Welcome to the forum. I just replaced the battery on my 2014 with 12,000 miles on it. Didn't even bother going to the Dealer. Just took it to my local friendly Tire Shop! One day good; next day dead. This is the 3rd new car that this has happened to me. Probably a bad cell. $75 labor to swap out the battery. Ouch. If I ever run into the idiot engineer that decided where to place the battery, I have saved my old one for him. And it won't be pretty! -
You could have the transmission reflashed to bring it back to factory specs. Then you drive it for a while and it will "learn" your driving style.

Dodge Journey 2011 rotors.
dhh3 replied to jessicablue78@aol.com's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
I believe that the bigger brakes (calipers) applied only to the fronts; not the backs. -
Welcome to the forum. If you just got it, can't you take it back to the dealer?

CV joints click when they begin to fail. Check the boots for tears. If torn, the oil/grease will leak out, and the CV joint will fail.

It appears that the factory uses Monroe struts. We compared them at the tire store when I was getting my new battery. Not much out there as far as replacement shocks. I'd love to get a set of Bilsteins, but they do not make them for the DJ.

Where do you place you phone with the 8.4 touchscreen
dhh3 replied to mjnb's topic in Accessories, Modifications
Cup holder, or vent mount if I'm using it for Navigation.
