This entertains me. Trying to turn a DJ into a Jeep was like trying to turn a Nitro into a Jeep on the nitroforumz. With all the crap that is coming out of Sir Sergio's mouth, my next vehicle will be a Jeep; most likely a GC, as a Cherokee can only tow 2,000 pounds.

Passenger overhead light
dhh3 replied to Medabum's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
Mine has clunked from day one leaving my garage. This is the only time that it clunks. This has been posted numerous times on the forum. I live with my clunk, and look forward to it every morning, or anytime I leave my garage for the first time. It lets me know what kind of mood she will be in for the rest of the day. -
The 3.7 in my Nitro also called for copper plug changes every 30,000 miles. The reason for this: the heat at which the copper plugs burn to keep carbon deposits from forming in the plastic intake manifold. May be the same thing in the 2.4. If the engine calls for copper plugs, that is what I would use. It may run fine now with the iridium plugs, but you are only asking for trouble down the line.

2015 DJ 4.3 radio
dhh3 replied to gizzmo13's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
1. You can not add a camera to a 4.3 unless you purchase a Lockpick. 2. You can swap your 4.3 to an 8.4 and add Nav and a camera. -
ABS is an electronic function of engaging and releasing the brakes at a high rate of speed. The idea came from airplanes landing. I would say it would be in your master cylinder.

I like it. Looks like "Black Chrome".

With a 2,500 max towing capacity that declines as you add passengers and luggage, why do you guys need brakes on your trailers? How big of a trailer are you planning to tow? Seems to me a brake controller on a DJ is a waste of money. My Nitro had the wire for a brake controller, but it could tow 5,000 pounds, with no mention of passenger/luggage. My Lowe Aluminum Bass Boat with a 150 Yamaha. weighed in at about 2,000 pounds.

Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) Display Scratches

The Bausch+Lomb Sight Savers are made for this!. There must have been dust on the screen before I used it! -
I would definitely change the timing belt. The 3.5/4.0 is an odd duck of an engine. There are 24 valves but only SOHC. Most multivalve engines are DOHC. You might want to check and see if this engine is an interference design: if the timing belt breaks, the pistons will hit the valves and bend them. Then, it will be time for a valve job and possible piston replacement. If it is a non-interference design, the pistons and valves will not touch if the timing belt breaks.

Welcome. Do all of the other switches on the steering wheel work w/o hitting them? And, what are you hitting them with?

I finally saw a DJ Crew today. It was silver; hard to read the badge.

Those are the ones I have. They look the best, IMHO.

Swiss cheese with just the right sized holes? -
I wonder who the idiot is that wrote this. Neither the Kia Sportage or the Escape offer a third row, but I like the idea of tinted rear seats. Sterling Heights is where they build the Dart/200. I guess Sir Sergio doesn't want to pay the 35% import fee if Trump gets elected. Nothing in this story indicates anything different, other than the loss of the Limited.

It may take a couple of tries to get the injectors squirting a uniform spray pattern, depending on how much crud is lodged in them.
-
Where are those tips made? I have never heard of them. Can you post a picture of what they look like uninstalled? They appear to be just the thing I need for my Hellcat SRT!
-
Is yours a two row or three row? The car appears lower and sit even, front to back. Mine sits higher in the back than the front, which I like, but maybe it is designed this way to take the weight of people sitting in the third row.

I found it on eBay. Someone totaled their Hellcat. I took the circuit board out of one of my key fobs and put it in this one! Works flawlessly.

I used Bausch+Lomb Sight Savers on both my screens. I have slight marks on the right side of the EVIC screen; no marks on the 8.4. The marks can only be seen in the sun. -

12v outlets only work with accessory?

In my Nitro, the fuse box was right on top of the driver's front wheel well. So easy to get to and change the position of that fuse! -
I would think that the springs for the front might be different, based on the weights of the engines - 4/6 cylinder. I have a Performance Suspension. My build sheet lists 4 springs, so I am thinking they may be stiffer. The R/T may get thicker sway bars.

I did not know that the engines were made in Mexico. All the transmissions are made in Kokomo, Indiana. Huge complex.- 13 replies
