  1. No Nav on my radio. I explicitly followed the download instructions. My Dealer will sort it out this AM. At least they have good coffee!
  2. I'm curious as to what the Dealer may find. Weird things do happen on the DJ!
  3. Understood. I did this. Followed the instructions. I even watched the tutorial 3x to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Taking it to the Dealer will check for any and all updates, including Uconnect. Was hoping not to go this route, but, oh well: the die is cast, so to speak! LOL
  4. There is a Member here, ultranuts, that bought a programmer that can get into the DJs electronics. PM him. He might be able to help you. I know little or nothing about the electronics in my DJ. That is why I purchased an extended warranty. I do not even know if it runs on High or Low Speed Bus. My Degree in Electronics can help me trouble shoot something in my mind, as to how a circuit may work, but I need to know what specific parts are on the circuit. I had my Nitro pretty much figured out, but I know nothing about my DJ. Some things may work the same way, between the two vehicles, but so far, I have had no issues with my DJ, so I am not aware of any similarities yet. Sorry.
  5. I keep mine on the Fuel Economy all the time, and there is no delay. There is a little white triangle over what my present MPG is, and as long as I keep the bar at or past this mark, I'm doing good. No delay.
  6. I did not know that. Best Buy gave me little or no help on how this Dell works! Open with IE is grayed out. Windows 10 gives updates at least every other week. I guess that Microsoft is still working on it. I should have bought an iMac! I did try that, and the Radio gave me the message: no usable files. I'm going to the Dealer tomorrow, but I'll try it again. Maybe it will work if I open IE first. No luck. Open with IE is grayed out.
  7. Does anyone know if the Uconnect updates are incompatible with Window 10? I never had an issue with Windows 7. There is an update for my radio, but I get a warning, in Bold Red Type, in both Edge (New name for IE) and Chrome that the Akamai Netsession Interface Installer is not compatible with my browser. I tried the Direct Download Link, insert my stick, and the Update Window did not show. I changed the Source to USB and the Radio gave me the message: No usable files. I called Uconnect, and as usual, they did not have an answer. I was told, that since I am still under Warranty, to bring it in to my Dealer and they could do the update for me. Just curious if this has happened to anyone else. I called Service at my Dealer, and they will plug something into the OBDII port, and it will list any updates available for my DJ. Thanks for reading.
  8. If you had disconnected the positive first, you run the risk of frying the electronics. I'll word it another way. Do you have to push the brake pedal in order to start the car? On my 2011 Nitro and my 2014 DJ I have to push the brake pedal before it will start, even if they were in Park. Is your 2009 DJ like this?
  9. Perfect. Rules out my thought on the possibility. On the 2008, do you have to engage the brake pedal before it will start?
  10. Agreed. But he tried both the old bulb and the new one. Enough said on this issue.
  11. Excuse me. I should have substituted the word "switch - soft key" instead of control. Too many things interconnected with the seat heater circuit, IMHO. Lousy design.
  12. When you swapped the starter, which battery terminal did you disconnect?
  13. 1 size up always works for me.
  14. The differences in the Mopar P/Ns are the different diameters of the sway bars. You would need to know what suspension package came on your car, so you would know which bushing to get.
  15. All that I recall was that the Nitro runs the High Speed Bus, and that the members were doing it with the older model years. The Nitro used a real key with the ignition switch on the steering column. These keys could be reprogrammed. I also forgot to add to make sure that the P/N was the same, including the last two letters, like AC. A higher last letter, like AD would indicate a slight change. If your Dealer is correct, you would have to get your Fobs programmed to it (I do not know if these new style Fobs are even reprogrammable). If this is the case, and you find one on eBay, get the Fobs which are programmed to it, also. If you can get the Fob(s), install the used ECM and see if it will start. If so, I'm not sure why it would have to be programmed, unless this process just makes it recognizable by the Fob. There may be more to the programming process that I am unaware of. A while ago, there was a member from Africa (Ghana?) who could not get his DJ to start. He was trying to get an ECM and a Fob so he could start his car. I was told by my Service Manager that you can't just program an ECM with the Fob. The ECM has to be installed in the car, in the Service Bay in order to program it! This being said, I'd compare the price of a new ECM + programming (+ maybe a new Fob) vs a used one and having your Dealer program it. I think that I read on the forum that these new style Fobs can only be programmed once, but I am not positive on this. Dealers each have their own way of doing things. Some will not deal with self installed used parts. Mine would, but I would be in agreement that if something went wrong, they were not responsible.
  16. We did this on the Nitro forum, so it may work on the DJ. What you will need is the same model year, with roughly the same options as your DJ has. Make sure the donor DJ, at least, has all of your options.
  17. It appears that there are two threads active on adding auto headlights. I have added both the sensor and light switch (posted on the newer thread started by ultranutz), so Journeyman425, please do not forget about me if the sales code ever pops up again. I ask this incase you are not monitoring both threads. Thank you for all of your effort on this forum. Members like you make this all worthwhile.
  18. Welcome from The Fort.
  19. You are lucky to have the old style radio. Go to oemautopartsco.com They specialize in Mopar radios, usually dealer take outs. All of their units are bench tested and if the screen has a scratch, they replace it. They do sell on ebay. You will need to give them the 3 Letter code of your radio. It is silk screened printed in the lower right hand corner of your radio's face plate. Or, you can upgrade to something better. You will have to tell them that you have a Dodge Journey; I do not know if the DJ utilizes a low or high speed bus system.
  20. No. You will need a Sirius antenna. Since the base of the AM/FM antenna is the Sirius antenna, it is possible that there is a Sirius antenna cable behind your 4.3. There will be two antennas that you need to plug into the back of the radio: one for AM/FM and one for Sirius. If there is not an unused antenna cable behind your radio, you will have to buy one: or, rip out your headliner to run the cable back to the antenna. And, it is possible that your base may not even be a Sirius antenna.
  21. You guys must have crappy Dealers. I have no issue at all spending time with my Dealer.
  22. There was a Chevy Truck facing me at a stoplight, in the middle of the day, with one of these dumb-ass things. Must be his DRL, but it was blinding in the daylight!. Some of the these new cars with LED DRLs are way too bright. Cadillac comes to mind. Pure Bling, and ugly to boot.
