Rolly, your pointer puts you on Put-in-Bay, one of the islands off the Ohio coast!

If you think of it, could you bring me home a whale?

I had the nerf bars on my Nitro. But, the DJ is too low for them. To my eye, they just don't look right. I had my Dealer install the Mopar Molded Splash Guards for me, and they do a decent job of keeping the sides clean.

2015 Journey Tires w/ 20300 miles and they are crap
dhh3 replied to glwitzel's topic in Wheels & Tires
I can not get my index finger nail between the tire and the bottom spring mount on the front struts. So, I think that this may be the biggest/widest tire that can be installed. Plenty of room in the back. -
2012 Journey Crew 3.6L - battery problems
dhh3 replied to slskene's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
If this is documented by your Dealer while you were under warranty, they should be in a position to get the problem stopped once and for all. They should have fixed it right the first time. -
Pretty cool. We had this on the nitroz forum.

TSB: Idler Pulley Noise 2011-2014 3.6L

Printed out the TSB again. Called and made an appointment to have the idler pulley replaced next Wednesday. -
Add third row speakers
dhh3 replied to bigunclejethro's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
That speaker set up from the Caliber was/is offered on the Jeep Patriot and Compass. When I had my back up camera installed at the Dealer as part of my purchase, the Driver's side rear panel was removed. I believe that is where the Factory sub would be located, but there didn't seem to be much room for anything in there! There must be some sort of difference between the rear panels of the 2-row vs 3-row, because the cargo cover will not fit the 3-row. A speaker might fit behind the fake vents, but I doubt that it could be a 6x9. -
I listened to it; not much to watch! LOL

P255/50R19 Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus. Excellent wet traction, excellent in the snow. Now that I think about it, the traction control has NEVER come on since I had these tires installed! -
my neighbors would kill me!

It looks like water. The coolant would have a tint of color to it.

Can you take out the ads in your video to make it work?

It's either moparpartsonline.com or moparonlineparts.com. They beat dealer prices.

It should be an easy fix to turn the sales code back on. They did it for DRLs.

TSB: Idler Pulley Noise 2011-2014 3.6L
dhh3 replied to Milous's topic in Recalls & Technical Service Bulletins
When I started mine at Church today, a friend walking by the car told me I needed power steering fluid because he could hear the pump howling. I told him that it was the idler pulley bearing! -
The 2.4 has a 4 speed. You will need to know what transmission came with the 3.5.

DVD - Disk error, disk won't eject
dhh3 replied to Billy's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Go over to the Sales side of your Dealership. If you have bought a lot of cars from them, I'm sure they will not want to lose a good customer. -
Sounds good. Can you post one outside where you would not get all of the sound reflection? Thank you.

The Durango is basically a Grand Cherokee with a longer wheelbase and a third row of seats. Maybe they will do the same thing with the DJ: take a Cherokee, add a longer wheelbase and a third row. All this conjecture is fun! Jeep is presently working on a three row SUV, and it will be called Grand Wagoneer, not Commander. This Jeep is supposed to compete with Land Rover/Range Rover, so the Durango may be safe to continue in production.

Welcome to the forum. I purchased and installed the correct switch and light sensor for Auto Lights. Someone at FCA has taken down the Sales Code for Auto Lights, so the Dealer can not activate them. If and when FCA decides to add the Sales Code back, then I am all ready to have them activated. I'm considering a drive to Texas. I need to get away!

Radiator over heating and interior heating
dhh3 replied to MissMindy's topic in Engine & Transmission
The engine sucking the coolant back into the radiator is a sign that it is working properly, but not necessarily a sign that there is no blockage. Can you see any evidence of where the coolant is leaking? As mentioned, the water pump is a good place to start. If it is a blown head gasket, but the leak is towards the inside on the engine block, it may evaporate before you see the leak. And, if it's towards the outside and ends up on an exhaust header, again it may evaporate. If the leak is inside the engine block, then you are burning it and would go out with the exhaust. Does your engine seem to run properly? I agree with the above. It is difficult to be an armchair mechanic!- 16 replies

Aftermarket Amp to factory radio
dhh3 replied to Serg's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
I purchased an Alpine Brick Amp (Power Head Unit Amp) and Best Buy tied it into the speaker wires at the Radio. But, this is a 4 channel amp. If you have speaker inputs to your amp, depending on where you are mounting your amp and sub, I would use either side rear door speaker wire. I did this same type of installation on my Nitro and used the right rear door speaker wires as input. This did not affect my MyGig HU in any way. Of course, I had to run power cables to the battery. I did install an 8" Kicker Sub, mounted under the driver's seat. The sub is mounted in a ported box, similar to a Bose Radio. The tech wired the sub between the radio and the amp. The sub also has its own amp. It is made for single cab pickup trucks. Neither my amp or sub required power cables to the battery, so it was a simple installation. From the size of your amp, it appears you need to run power cables to the battery, but I could be wrong. My DJ is a 3 row, so I had had limited options when it came to a sub. -
Radiator over heating and interior heating
dhh3 replied to MissMindy's topic in Engine & Transmission
I agree with the above. When you are filling the radiator, are you putting it in the overflow tank? If the overflow tank is empty (maybe cracked), when the engine warms up and the thermostat opens, some of the coolant will be pushed out of the hot engine and goes to the overflow tank. When the engine cools, the coolant is then sucked back into the radiator. Look at your owners manual and see what kind of coolant is recommended for your engine. My 3.6 takes a specific kind, and if I add the wrong kind, the owner's manual says to drain all of the coolant and replace with the correct kind. If you do get a flush, I would replace the thermostat.- 16 replies
