  1. If there is a change in the letters, it is a minor upgrade, and will work. If there is a change in the last number, it is a major upgrade, and may not work.
  2. Both the Fiat 500 and DJ are assembled in Mexico. I would assume the Freemont is too.
  3. Correct switch ordered. They will allow me to return the other one, even though it is an electrical part. So, good deal for me. I'll install the sensor when the new switch arrives. Then patiently wait for the Sales Code to reappear!
  4. My Dealer would never do something like this. I go in to talk about Auto Headlights, and they offer to do the Recall as long as I was there. Took less than the 2 hours stated.
  5. The Sales Code for Auto headlights disappeared off of Chrysler's list. Hopefully, they will add it back on, just like the DRLs. Hopefully, he can get around this with the gizmo that he ordered.
  6. Somehow you got your pictures of the switches reversed. I just pulled mine out: 68072001AC: No Auto, with Fog, just as he stated in his reply to me. So, I actually ordered the switch that I already have. I'm working with the ebay seller to see if he will exchange the switch for me.
  7. This is the reply that I received from the seller on ebay: per the catalog part number 68072001ac is for foglights no auto lamps: this is already installed in my DJ! part number 4602890ac is for auto lamps part number 56046258ac is for auto lamps with fog lamps: this is the one that I need. Kind Regards, Matthew Maybe it is because yours is a 2016 and mine is a 2014.
  8. I just received the sensor and switch. The sensor is correct: it has 4 pins, where my original has three. However, the switch is identical to the switch in the car. I'll have to message the seller on ebay, to see what is going on. P/N on new switch: 68072001AC. Something weird is going on.
  9. Curious as to why you think that Jeeps are rolling trashcans? The Australian members on the nitroforumz were saying the same thing about their Nitros when Chrysler pulled out of Australia. And now you are driving a Dodge? The new Grand Cherokee was designed when Diamler owned Chrysler. The new Mercedes M Series is based on the Grand Cherokee. The Cherokee is based on an Alfa Romeo. Can't get better DNA than this.
  10. The full line means full. The measurement is marked to take into account that the oil will slightly expand when hot. Do not fill past the full mark, because then the crank shaft can start slinging the oil around the inside of the engine block, causing air bubbles which is not healthy for the rest of the engine.
  11. I am curious how you will do this as Chrysler has removed the code for auto headlights. Again: do your headlights work normal in the other positions? You said that they came on as soon as you started it: was the light switch in auto position? I want to go ahead and install the switch when it comes today, along with the sensor, but not if the headlights will always be on.
  12. Just out of curiosity, where did you purchase the battery and alternator?
  13. I have always been told to test the oil when cold and parked on a level surface, and fill to the full mark. Transmission: hot, in N, on a level surface.
  14. The only thing coming out of these mufflers is what is supposed to:
  15. Just received my second notice saying that the parts are in! 3 days late as I had my done last Wednesday! They also have to check the headlight harness, besides fix the ABS ground. The notice says that the fix can take up to 2 hours.
  16. It just may be frozen condensation from humidity inside the car, if it is covering the whole glass. Open the cover before you park it for the night and see what happens.
  17. Before you do this, check out the Kicker under seat 8" sub, made for single cab pick up trucks. It is mounted in a ported box, similar to a Bose Radio. I could not believe what this little sucker puts out. It even came with a remote gain. I can vibrate all my mirrors, hurt my ears and move my baggy jeans when I am wearing them. I had Best Buy install it. No oversize cables to the battery. It was installed on the output side of the radio, between the radio and amp. And, it fits under my seat, even if I run the seat all the way down. Since I went to the trouble of installing an 8" sub and amp in my Nitro, I had reservations on how this would sound. It is a 100 times better. It must be the ported enclosure. I installed the sub in the factory box in my Nitro. When my Dealer was installing my BU camera as part of my deal to purchase my DJ, they removed the left rear panel of the third row. I looked in where the factory sub would mount, and there is not enough room to move any air, IMHO. Members with the factory Alpine sub refer to it as "muddy". That is why I chose the simple route, and ended up with a much better sound.
  18. Welcome to the forum. My DJ is still to new to be experiencing any troubles (Note: knocking on wood!)
  19. The Infinity System was still offered in the 2011 Nitros. It is probably still available in the Wrangler and minivans because they still use the old style radios.
  20. Since I was wrong with the battery, there still may be an open short in one of the electronic components in the Start Circuit. It could be a bad solder joint on a PC Board. When you try to start the car, the electrons begin to flow which cause these components to heat up. This small amount of heat may be just the right amount to close the circuit and allow the car to start. See if you can get your hands on the starting circuit and then you can trace out all of the components. Or, it could be a bad crank position sensor. The "brain" has to know the position of the crank shaft before it will start. These have been known to fail., and I am not sure if it would show up in the starting circuit.
  21. Let us know how it works. The Auto Headlight Code has been removed again from the Dealer's list. This is why they can not activate them. The same thing for DRLs happened last year. The Code disappeared but mysteriously reappeared. So, I had my DRLs turned on. I am going to install the switch and sensor when they arrive, and patiently wait for the Code to reappear. When you say that your lights come on with the ignition, is the switch in the Auto position? Do the lights still work as normal in the other positions?
  22. That leaves me free and clear!
  23. The Infinity System has a separate amp from the radio. I would also check that.
