A simple $1.28 Modification that is very helpful
dhh3 replied to Billy Billy's topic in Accessories, Modifications
Under your avater, it doesn't show where you live. Cool idea, but my stuff would freeze in winter! -
My key has been through the washer 2x and still sees the button.

My Nitro was like this. It was basically RWD. All of the front end components were always spinning. There was an electrically operated sing speed transfer case which would engage the front drive sfat and lock it to the rear drive shaft 50/50 torque split. It was part time - no center differential, so it could only be used on slipper surfaces.

recommend thule/yakima roof top carrier...
dhh3 replied to crossroad's topic in Accessories, Modifications
I ordered a set of Thule ski/board mounts to attach to my Mopar crossbars. No keys were in the box. They are sending me a replacement kit and a return label to ship the first set back. I'm hoping that I can use them for fishing poles. -
On the AWD DJs, is the rear drive shaft, rear differential and rear 1/2 shafts always turning, whether AWD is engaged or not?

I don't understand why you used a card that was closed. Need more information When I bought my Lockpick for my Nitro, I bought it on ebay from a Factory Authorized Coastal Dealer. After about 2 months, the Lockpick stopped looking. He asked me to send it back to him. Then, he would send it to Coastal for them to test it. Someone at Coastal signed for it, but it was lost in their shop! So, they just sent me a new one. It still was working when I traded my Nitro for my DJ. The only reason I bought a Lockpick is because Mopar never offered a Camera Kit for the Nitro. The image showed on the Mygig screen. Remember, if you already have an 8.4 screen, Nav or non-Nav, you can get the Mopar Kit and the image will show on your screen. My 8.4 is non-Nav, and I had my Dealer add the camera as part of my deal when I purchased my DJ. The small screen radios (4.2), I believe, are not camera ready. There are members on the forum who have swapped out their 4.2 for an 8.4 and then added the camera. If you have a 4.2, a Lockpick should show the image on the screen. I am not up to speed with these new radios. In fact, the only thing I hate in my DJ is the radio. I wish that I could swap the 8.4 for a RBZ Mygig, v50, with the 30 gig HD. The older DJs used a Mygig or that size radio.

Thank you for the compliment. I actually bought it for the color! It had leather seats so I assumed it had heated seats. Not! I had a local Car Accessory Shop do the install. Next summer I may add a sunroof. This shop uses the same sunroof as the factory.

KEY FOB SENSOR
dhh3 replied to Tito Mon's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs, Locks & Remote Start
I put key fob and keys in the ruler pocket of my jeans. The fob has now been cleaned 2x in the washer with Arm and Hammer detergent and Downey softener. Still works fine! I need to stop doing this! -
When the Dealer Tech installed my camera, he had the third row drivers side seat out sitting on the floor, the inside panel for the liftgate off, the left rear interior panel off, the 8.4 screen, radio and all the related parts to the dash to remove them! He ran the cables under the door sills.

Push it twice. It will happen.

They are listed on Tire Racks list of tires that will fit. I went with 255/50R19 Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus. I had these mounted around 4 months after I bought mine new. Performed flawlessly with my FWD in winter. So, no need to carry around the extra weight of AWD! I can barely my index finger nail between the tire and the front strut lower spring mount, so I'm guessing that this is the largest 19" tire we can mount on the 19" wheels. These tires are ,15" higher on the sidewall, .30" larger in diameter and 1.18" wider. These tires are actually quieter that the factory Khumos and have an 80,000 mile tread warranty.

It is practically impossible to obtain parts for the export models in the US. The only way to obtain them would be to find someone in another country willing to buy the parts and ship them to you. The parts may even be made in the US but you will not be able to purchase them from a US Dealer.

Both Halo Lights on when braking?
dhh3 replied to bigunclejethro's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
Ideally, I would like 4 brake lights, and keep the amber signal light. Do you think the switchback would work for this? -
I would have to search, so I will leave that up to you!
-
The US mirrors have detents that hold them open. Any motor would have to overcome the detent, in order for it to fold in.

The old interior got the better radios: MYGIGs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing I really dislike about my DJ is the radio.

Some issues after periodic Maintenance...
dhh3 replied to Mauricio Pelissari's topic in Maintenance & D.Y.I.
When those tree lights on the dash all come on at the same time, usually it is a bad wheel sensor. It could be a loose connection, or the connector is corroded. Happy to see that the fuel injectors are working again. -
I do not need a blue pill. If you care to drive to Indiana, I will show you. There is a reason for this. Anything Windows sucks. Windows phones will probably go the way of the Blackberry. Too bad. Blackberry had a good OS, made for business use. Adding a lockpick and any camera will display the image on any radio screen. + it gives you the option of up to 4 cameras, and unlocks the features that you can't use while the vehicle is moving. Some people put a camera inside the vehicle to monitor a baby car seat. You could put one in the front, or mount them to the rear view mirrors to monitor the blind spots. Lot of options. The 8.4 radios are camera ready from the factory with the factory camera. I had the factory camera added to mine as part of the deal when I purchased my DJ new last summer. Either way, you have to run the video cable and power wires from the camera either to the lockpick or the factory radio. I would recommend getting a camera that displays the distance that you are from an object. The factory camera does this with colored lines. The field of vision is not wide enough, at least for me. I may get the back up sensors installed.

My reminder has yet to come on. My extended warranty pays for my oil changes every 3,750 miles, or 4 months, whichever comes first.

Some issues after periodic Maintenance...

From that story, it was available in the original LX cars: Intrepid, Eagle and Concorde. DOHC, 24v, all aluminum with steel sleeves. It is not like the odd duck 3.5/4.0 with 24v, but only SOHC. At one time, Chrysler had a slew of V6s. Two 4.0: one in the Wrangler (not an OHC design) and the 4.0 based on the 3.5. There was also the 3.7 SOHC used only in trucks. In fact, the Nitro was the only truck to get the 4.0. -

They are an OEM manufacturer for many brands, and they also make replacements, like the ones in the picture. I had a halo/projector set on my Nitro and never had an issue. But, they cost around $250; not $750+ like these. The cost will come down if they sell more, but I'm not paying that for a set of lights. Besides, I think they look tacky, like all the LED DRLs on the new Cadillacs. TACKY! They are are a reputable brand, that's all.
