Some issues after periodic Maintenance...
dhh3 replied to Mauricio Pelissari's topic in Maintenance & D.Y.I.
It would seem to me that the fuel injectors would be interchangeable. It is an interference engine, so if somehow you have gotten it out of time, the pistons will crush the valves. Read this: http://www.allpar.com/mopar/V6/27.html -
Last I read, Alfa is in the process of introducing a midsize car, bigger that the one that the Cherokee, Dart and 200 are based on. This is a RWD car, with the option of AWD. The next DJ and Avenger will be based on this chassis. This crap changes monthly. I also read where Chrysler keeps the minivan but also gets a X-over. Remember, the Pacifica rode on the minivan chassis, so it is possible that Chrysler can sell both. If this is true, the DJ will be a bad boy little brother to the Durango. Time will tell.

new recall issued today for 2012-2015 journeys

Any info on the US? -
I have one on my 2014 Crossroad. I think it has something to do with the auto HVAC. There is a thread on the forum concerning this thing.

I vote picture #1. But, I do know that the ones in picture #2 are made by Eagle Eyes.

What kind of the phone holder do you use in your DJ?
dhh3 replied to Totemus's topic in Accessories, Modifications
I just found a no name mount for tablets, from China. I have never ordered anything from China. $7.95 including shipping! Arrived in 5 days! Clips to a center vent. Now I can use my iPad Air instead of my iPhone6 for Nav. -
Nice write up. Based on posts on the forum, about two months after I bought mine new, I swapped out the Khumos for a set Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus. I had them on the Nitro that I traded for the DJ. These tires were great in the snow last year. Another reason I'm glad I did not get the Factory NAV. I have never purchased anything from China, but I found a neat mount for a tablet for $7.95 with free shipping! Arrived in 5 days! I have been using my iPhone6 for my Nav: now I can use my iPad Air.

It's not the one in the OP's picture! Things change so fast. Alfa Romeo is just introducing a mid size car. The DJ and the Avenger (yes it is back) will both be based on this car, but not for at least a couple of years. Thus, they will both be RWD as all Dodge's will eventually be RWD. The Charger and 300 presently ride on a modified E Class body, from the Diamler days, but will eventually share Maserati bodies/chassis. If this is really true, Mopar will be the finest American cars; all with Italian Heritage. My Dealer is also a Fiat/Alfa Dealer. They have a white 4C in the showroom. Awesome! They have already sold two Red ones, and a Targa is on its way!

I was thinking along the lines of bad gas, also.

radio frequency from US-> EU
dhh3 replied to thomasch's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
You may have to change the US Uconnect phone module for an EU version that would recognize the cell phone frequencies. -
My insurance co calls my journey a Sport Wagon , not cuv or suv
dhh3 replied to Billy Billy's topic in Owner Impressions
The Jeep GC and the Dodge Durango are both considered SUVs. They have a full frame, but it is welded; not bolted. So they are both a unibody but not a CUV because they are not based on a car. -

Adding Uconnect and navigator
dhh3 replied to edulav1's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Which radio screen; big or small? Uconnect can be added to both, but I'm not sure if Nav can be added to the small screen radio. As long as your definition of Uconnect is phone connection. -

Both Halo Lights on when braking?
dhh3 replied to bigunclejethro's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
This is what I sent them: I have no idea how any of this works! My Dodge Journey has 4 Red LED lights in the rear (Rings of Fire!). The turn signals are an amber incandescent bulb. The outside LED lights serve as brake and tail light. The inside LED lights are tail light only. I want the inside LED lights to be brake also, if this is even possible. The outside lights have 3 wires: brake, tail, and ground. The housings have 3 pins. The inside lights have 2 wires: tail and ground. However, the inside housings also have three pins. I plugged the inside light/housing to the outside harness, and the light still only worked as a tail light. The brake function didn’t work. Thus, the outer LED lights are dual intensity and the inside LEDs are single intensity. I was under the impression that a switchback is for two different colors for the same light. Our switchback module would be something I would suggest you take a look at. http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/catalog/product/view/id/22660/s/s1-switchback-module-pair/category/1448/ The only issue, if you want to call it that, is that you will only be able to choose either the brake or the turn signal for this function. This is just do to only having one high power input available to tap in with. Also you would need to swap the existing tail light bulb out to an LED option. Then it will switchback to the first once the other is removed. Unfortunately this would be a DIY situation so I do not have much else I can share on this installation. Looks like working here only requires the ability to type! -
If it is the viscous coupling, the rear wheels may not be disengaging. Since this is basically a part time system (no center differential, the bang (pop) you are hearing is probably coming form the rear differential because the rear wheels are trying to catch up with the fronts. In a turn, each tire is turning at a slightly different speed. What you are hearing is the system winding up and releasing because without a center differential, there is no way to allow for slippage between the front and rear tires. If you are on a slippery surface, the system will not wind up because the tires can spin freely and catch up.

I had my first about a month ago. I backed into a truck, in a tight parking space. I was so concerned about the Caliber on my left side, I was not watching the truck on my right side. The truck was not in the view of the camera. I didn't realize it was there until I hit it. No damage to the truck, but I flattened the passenger side of my rear bumper! No metal damage. The only thing hurt was my pride. All fixed now. My Dealer did an excellent job matching the color. The first one is always the worst. I may have back up sensors installed; I can't figure why the truck was not in the camera's field of vision. It was not fully in its parking space.

I used Ziebart. I undercoated only, and did not let them talk me into anything else. The only reason I took mine there is that is where my Dealer would have taken it to get undercoated for 2x the price!

Both Halo Lights on when braking?

Let's agree to disagree. My rear fogs are getting 12v. I have sent an email to these guys: contact@diodedynamics.com (314) 205-3033 x223 As the OP asked, I want to know if there is a way to make all 4 LEDs come on as brake lights. -
