Possibly this paint has an acidic quality to it which would allow it to stick. I silk screened the front and back panels of Tokheim Gas Pumps before the company was sold to a French company and moved. We always had to slightly roughen the paint, so the silk screened logos would stick. Either fine sand paper, steel wool or liquid etch.

One of the pistons in the caliper may not be letting the pads fully retract. Are there any circular marks on the discs?

HVAC backlighting bulb number?
dhh3 replied to jimmyk's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
I'm not sure what you mean by the square buttons, but if the 3 big round ones are like the Nitro they are small bulbs soldered onto the circuit board. -
1 month in Vegas is way too long for me!

You may have to slightly roughen the surface, with a fine grit sandpaper, to get the paint to "bite" into the surface of the aluminum, to keep it from chipping. I do not believe that the Crossroad wheels cost $500 ea: $250 seems more reasonable to me.

Question about rear turn signal tailights
dhh3 replied to DJfan's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
I sent an email to diodedynamics to see if they make a gizmo so that the inside LEDs can be a brake light too. They are not open on the weekends. I'm going to leave the signal amber Also, need recommendations for a brighter back up bulb. Type and bulb # would be great so I know what I'm looking for. Thank you. -
Curious as to why you want to remove your grill after you installed those good looking SS Wire Mash inserts.

I check mine when I add washer fluid.

Welcome to the forum. You were smart to get the old style dash: you have a better option for radios. The only thing that I really hate about my DJ is the radio. I did get mine undercoated right after I bought it. The battery is located in front of the driver's side front wheel. Check it out, as it is my understanding that the battery tray has a tendency to rust. At least mine is undercoated on the bottom! LOL

Welcome to the forum. I also bought mine in June of last year, but I found the forum within a week of ownership.

Headlight Dip (Traffic Changeover)
dhh3 replied to JG_R's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
The export Nitros had a 3 position switch on the switch panel on the center stack. I was told EU law requires this to change the distance that headlight illumination goes down the road. If I remember correctly, the switch moved the bulb up and down; or maybe the whole housing. Some countries, our driver's side bulb moved; other countries, our passenger side bulb moved - depends on which side of the car the steering wheel is. The export Nitros also had a smaller bulb inside the headlamp housing, but I do not recall what it is for. The bulb was also clear. The whole World needs to come to some common ground on this.- 15 replies

Both Halo Lights on when braking?
dhh3 replied to bigunclejethro's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
There should be 0 volts to the brake lights, unless the brake pedal is pressed. As I already stated, I tied into the 12v tail light wire for my rear fog lights. They get 12v, and their brightness is between the intensity of the LED tail and brake lights. I wish that it was 6v as stated: they would be dimmer - maybe the same intensity of the LED tail lamps. -
Also, purchase a new battery tray as these tend to rust. If you are going to do brakes, replace the front ones with the dual piston calipers (bigger) on the newer models. If you like it, keep it. I got mine undercoated right after I bought it. I skipped the complete rustproofing as this may plug up the drain holes if the tech isn't watching what he is doing.

Mine doesn't, but then I only have around 8500 miles on it. It is still "breaking in". I'll bet that the beauty cover traps heat, unless it is designed to control the flow of air under it.

What he said ^^ Make sure you set your average mpg to 0 before you fill. It does make a difference.

If it is the brake light switch, Note that you only get one try to install it. If you don't get it in correctly the first time, the switch is no good and you will need to purchase another one.

Both Halo Lights on when braking?
dhh3 replied to bigunclejethro's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
When I tested the wires, I got 12v for both the brake and tail light. Both housings are marked 13.5v. I tied my rear fog lights into the 12v going to the taillights; so my rear fog lights come on as soon as I turn on my lights. Too lazy and incapacitated to run wires for a switch! LOL Something weird is going on here! Maybe my brain is dying. -
Both Halo Lights on when braking?
dhh3 replied to bigunclejethro's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
Sorry. I knew that it would be too easy to be true! I removed both driver's side lights, and plugged the inside light into the outside harness. It did not work as a brake light. The 3 pins have me confused. Obviously, the outside housing has something that changes the intensity of the LEDs, but the inside housing does not. I'm curious what the third pin is for. -
My dodge journey suddenly turn off while driving
dhh3 replied to ha_em's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
Welcome to the forum. The TIPM (computer) does control most of every thing, but by being intermittent, I'd be searching for a loose wire. -

Headlight Dip (Traffic Changeover)
dhh3 replied to JG_R's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
Welcome to the forum. Maybe some are made for Eastern Europe, and some for Western where the car might be driven in GB. You Brits need to get in line with the rest of the world: drive on the right side of the road, just as we have to switch to the metric system.- 15 replies
