Both Halo Lights on when braking?
dhh3 replied to bigunclejethro's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
No, I have had both my inner and outer lights off, when I was trying to hook up my rear fog lights. The outer light receives 12v. The 3 wires are: brake, tail, and ground. The resistor, or whatever you call it to run the LEDs is built into the light housing. I wired my rear fog lights into the outside 12v wire going to the tail light. If the thing inside the housing is what controls the brake (bright) and tail (dim), then this would also have to be installed in the inside lamp housing. If memory serves me correctly, there are only 2 wires going to the inside lights: tail and ground. If the socket on the inside housing has three pins for the plug, then all you would need would be a set of out side plugs (3 holes and 3 wires) and run a wire from the brake wire on either side and connect. I never looked at the inside of the socket on the inside light housings. Some moron on the forum, last fall, wanted to change his incandescent bulbs to LED's. I took both my lights off on the driver's side, and posted pictures and he never responded! Well, I just answered my own question. As you can see, both the inner and outer housings have 3 pins. So, the inside lights can be made to be brake lights also, by getting a pair of 3-wire plugs and running a wire from either side brake wire and tie it into both inside lights. The reason, at least for me, is that incandescent bulbs are still offered on the lower priced DJs. I did not think that Dodge would run 2 completely different wire harnesses to the rear for each type of light. So, there is 12v going to all of the lights. The "thing" inside the housing converts the 12v to whatever the LEDs require. Time to go to a salvage yard and find a pair of 3-wire plugs! Then, all 4 of my LEDs will be be both tail and brake. -
So far, I have been through one salty winter. No visible rust. This is odd because the only time that area is exposed is when the hatch is open.

Yes. And I installed it myself. For you guys in Michagan, there is an Air Refueling Track (restricted air space) over the Mackinac Bridge. Awesome sight to see the towns lit up, the outlines of The Lakes. We would fly in a great big oval waiting for our customers. I refueled F-16s from Selfridge AFB. Awesome.

Successful BIG BRAKE upgrade on 2011 Crew
dhh3 replied to FROGBOX's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
Good deal. Wish I needed brakes. 1/2 way for me would probably Colorado! -
I had my DJ undercoated right after I purchased it. I'm guessing they spayed the goop on the bottom of the tray, but if the battery should leak, I guess that I would be SOL!

I guess I'm in that category too!

New magnaflow exhaust!!!!

Looks like this is becoming an expensive endeavor. I could hear the drone in the original sound post. For me, if I could get a set of mufflers off of a 1986 Pontiac 6000 STE, that would be awesome. Same engine as all the GM models, but a sound so sweet for a V6. They have probably all hit the junk yard by now! -
Low beam and high beam on together?
dhh3 replied to Brian J Savoir's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
Fog lights are supposed to be used only in the fog. Growing up on the end of Long Island, NY, the fog would get so thick that I could barely see the end of the hood! Fog lights used to be yellow for better visibility in the fog Once they became standard or optional, they put clear bulbs in them and people just drive with them on all the time. The reflector for the low beam is made so you can see far down the road. The fog light reflector is made so you can see what is in front of you in dense fog. Next time you guys get into a thick fog, try only your fog lights and then compare them to your low beams and you will see the difference in how the light is spread out. I put Nokya Hyper Yellow 2500_24w in my fogs; a direct replacement for the PSX24W standard bulb. -
It is a KC-135 Air Refueling Tanker. You can see the "wings" on the end of the Boom. It looks exactly like a 707, but they share no parts. If you know Boeing's numbering system, the KC-135 is the missing number: 717. The passenger planes are 707, 727, 737, 747, etc. I was the Boom Operator. Greatest job on earth; lay on my belly and pass gas!

Try one and see. See if your tire dealer will let you mount one. Do it in the front. The front strut spring mounts is where you will find the interference. No problem in the back. My 255/50R19s are the size that Dodge mounted on the Red Show DJ when the Crossroad edition was being introduced. I think that Dodge would have mounted the largest tire possible for the "right" look, even though they eventually did not sell the Crossroad this way.

You are happy in a bus, but mean behind your DJ? What's up with that? I now see that your DJ is black, not blue! LOL

I believe that Silverstars would be whiter (maybe brighter) than stock, but I just read a thread where we shouldn't use HIRs (maybe HIDs). It's all Greek to me. Eventually, I'm installing Silverstars as long as I can get the store to do it for me! Doesn't appear to be a lot of room to do this. With all my back issues I can't be bent over that long! -

Little background: I have not used snow tires in over 20 years! All seasons work great for me.

Backup Camera Stopped Working

I have seen the cameras on ebay for around $250. The whole piece with the licence plate lights has to be replaced.
