  1. Uconnect only supports Apple up to iOS7.1. I'm guessing that you upgraded the software on your phone. My iPhone 6 has 8.4.1 and the phone pairs, but will not play music the way that it should. I'm patiently waiting for a Uconnect update to fix this. In fact, there was an update and I just had it installed today, but it did not address the Apple issue. Uconnect no longer works with Gracenote. I searched for an iPod with 7.1 and found a new one on ebay. Copied my iTunes Library to it, and no luck. Does not work. There is a workaround, though. The 8.4 screen has an SD slot. I bought a 32 gig SansDisc. You can't just copy your itunes library to the SD card. You have to first copy your iTunes Library to your music folder on your PC. There are directions on the net how to do this. I did not copy them. Then, you copy the new folder onto the SD card. Tried it in the car and still had issues. So, before you try it in the car, you then have to look at all the files on the disk. I found 2 folders that were just code and removed them from the disc. Now, my disc works like my iPod shoud, with one exception. All art files downloaded from iTunes are an Apple Proprietary file and will not display; they will only display on Apple products. All of the art from my CD collection displays, just not anything downloaded from iTunes. I can make my own play lists, or play all my songs and shuffle them. I can pick an album and play it. I can pick all the albums by one artist and play them all, with or without shuffle. Search by artist name, album name. There is an alphanumeric display to do this. It displays the art, artist, song name, album, and year the album came out, and the type of music: rock, etc. When playing a song, say rock, you can click on rock to play similar. I was really pissed off after I got the car home, and found out that Dodge had removed the 30 gig HD from these radios. With my MyGig, all art displayed, no matter where it came from. This is a huge step backwards when you want something to work and it doesn't.
  2. You could always replace them with black vinyl, because that is what they are. Probably need a heat gun.

    UPDATES

I found an update for my radio on the Uconnect site, so I brought my DJ in today. In searching my VIN, two more updates were found: 1. Software Flash for PCM. 2. Software Flash for TPMS. Just an FYI for everyone. Have a great day.
  4. Electronic steps. If you don't lock it with the FOB, it thinks it is being stolen when you unlock it with the FOB.
  5. According to MGP, all you need is a business card width and they will fit. Maybe all the Journeys with the newer big front brakes are an issue. They are giving me a refund, less 15% restocking fee. They also need my VIN. I'll send them back UPS ground today, give them the tracking details and my VIN.

    A Tribute to my Wife

Reliving all of this just breaks my heart. God has a plan for each of us; pre-planned and laid out upon conception. I lost my job so that I could be home to take of Sharon. She was with me for my two neck fusions, and when I tore my achilles tendon off of my heel. These last three back surgeries I have had to endure on my own. This is where I miss her the most. She was so giving. I have no idea how I am supposed to put all of this aside, and try and find room for a replacement. Bad terminology, I know. But the sad truth. God Speed on this next journey you are just embarking upon. Use CaringBridge. It is awesome. After the posting stopped, they sent me an email and asked me if I wanted a book of Sharon's personal web site. I could pick and choose what to have printed. I had the whole thing printed. The book sits on the coffee table, and I do read it from time to time. I just can't seem to put this all away, and move on with my life.
  7. If you don't lock your doors with the FOB, you interrupt a series of events that must occur to keep the alarm from going off.
  8. On the Nitro Forum, guys were constantly trying to turn their Nitro into a Jeep. There is something called a pinch weld that had to be bent, and some of the plastic inner fender had to be removed. Not a good idea, IMHO. For a reference, on my stock 19" Crossroad wheels, I'm running P255/50R19. These tires are 5.02" high, 10.04" wide, and 29.04" in diameter. I can not get my index fingernail in between the tire and the lower front spring bracket on the strut. This is probably the widest tires that can be installed. You might need wheels with a different offset to push the tire out. The Crossroad wheels do have a deeper dish, but I do not know by how much, when compared to other DJ wheels.
  9. I just thought of something that can help. Go to: caringbridge.org and start a page for your wife. It is sort of a FB for people with cancer. You and your wife can add anything you want in the Journal Section. All your friends and family can respond to your journal entries. Get the word out. It spreads like a wild fire. No cost, and the printed words are a blessing. Please PM me anytime when you get things sorted out. I am here for you because, as I said, I know exactly how you feel. People will tell you this, but unless they have lost a spouse, they have no idea. Initially, I had no one. Now, you have me. It is a start.
  10. $40 to install! Sadly, the MGP Caliper Covers do not work with the Crossroad Wheels. Not enough clearance in the front, and some sort of interference with the rear caliper and the mounting bracket. So, I'm sending them back. I was assured that these would fit. My mechanic tried for over 2 hours, even with a lift. I did my Nitro in my garage in about an hour!
  11. Tried that too. It may be due to the fact that I use iTunes. According to Uconnect, it is compatible with iOS7.1. My iPod is 7.1, but refuses to work properly. I want my 30 gig HD back. My SD Card finally works like the iPod should, but now I have to figure out how to add music to it. I'll have to get another card to experiment with. I don't want to screw up what I already have!
  12. I concur. Warped rotor, or balance issue. My Crossroad wheel's use paste weights so I constantly check to see if any one has fallen off.
  13. I lost my wife a little over 3 years ago, to breast cancer. She was diagnosed in July, 2011, and passed on Feb 23, 2012. I know exactly what you are going through. I have a Thread on the forum: A Tribute to my Wife. Reading it may bring you comfort. She wanted to see her grandchildren, but God had other plans for her. I find myself much closer to God in her absence. Hospice was awesome. I will pray for you that your wife gets the same kind of care that my wife received. I do not know how the Hospice people do this work. All I can say is that they are Angles. I never received a Bill for anything from Hospice. They even reimbursed me for a 2 week bottle of oxycontin ($500.) I had just purchased for Sharon. You may PM me anytime, because I know right now your head is spinning, and nothing seems right. Your emotions are on a roller coaster ride. I wanted to go outside and scream as loud as I could. I never let Sharon see me cry. Your wife is entitled to SS Disability. Cancer patient's get approved right away, but there still is a 5 month waiting period. Sharon's check was for February, payable in March. She did not live to get it. It would seem to me that you would be entitled to SS Disability, also. + Your children under 18 as long as they are in school. I did not know that I was entitled to it until I went to our local SS office. I was awarded SS Disability, based on my VA Disability. I have been waiting for over 5 years for the VA to put me at 100% because I was awarded SS Disability based on a USAF doctor's screw up. I was awarded SS Disability right away; no appeal; no lawyer taking 1/2 or whatever they charge. The VA is waiting for me to die so they don't have to pay me. At least I would be with Sharon again.
  14. Caliper Covers arrived yesterday. They are being installed today at 3 PM. $40. Not bad! Pictures to follow. In looking at the picture I posted of my Nitro, that is the rear caliper. Both the front and back were the same size. I wonder if the bigger front brakes will fit on the rear?
  15. Welcome to the forum. Did your dealer just fix the brakes or add the bigger front brakes from the newer models? Note: don't park it in Baltimore! Someone may want to use it to roast marshmellows! You actually got to test one before you bought it. I bought mine because of the color; then I test drove it. I should have had my Dealer look around for one in the same color with heated seats and AWD. But, I love it anyway; there is only one thing I absolutely hate about mine. Dodge, in their infinite wisdom, removed the 30 gig HD from the radio. Infuriating. Loading music used to be easy. Now, it is a long, drawn out process that never seems to work. It took me about 3 months to get my SD card to work like an iPod. My iPod refuses to work in this thing!
  16. What engine? I can burn rubber from a standstill with my V6 - depends on how much gas I give it. I have never floored it because the torque steer is horrendous. When they decided to put the Pentastar in the DJ, the engineers should have figured out how to do it with equal length half shafts.
  17. When I bought a Mygig for my Nitro, it was a Dealer Take-out form a Town and Country. When it initially fired up, it had the Chrysler logo, but immediately changed to Dodge.
  18. I buy nothing from Autozone, except name brand items. All of their replacement parts seem to be Chinese junk.
  19. My extended warranty covers oil changes, tire rotations and balance, wiper blades (1 set of front every 12 months) along with the rest of the car, with no deductible. So, I get what my Dealer offers. I finally rolled over 7,000 after a year + 1 month!
  20. You can always upgrade to the bigger front brakes on the newer model years.
  21. If you just started a new subscription, the fault lies with Sirius, providing that the radio worked before. Be aware that their Customer Service is horrible. Keep hanging up until you get someone who speaks English that you can understand. They will probably have you put the car in a clear area (not in the garage, or under a tree). You will need the engine running, and the Sirius Radio on. They will send a refresh signal to your radio. If you are talking on your cell phone, make sure that your phone is NOT connected via bluetooth (causes all sorts of problems!)
  22. I just received one of these tracking devices from The Travelers. I'll make sure to see if my battery is dead in the morning.
  23. Which engine? Check to make sure the oil filter is on tight. And, check your oil level.
