  1. Breaks my heart to see all of that Copperhead Pearl scraped off the metal.
  2. It is my understanding that the K&N is less restrictive; so, there might be a slight gain. Now, if the hood was made out of glass, one could see the CAI all the time. A CAI will actually provide a minimal improvement, but the engine needs a less restrictive exhaust to actually realize any measurable gains. And, the CAI needs to have cold air as its source; not hot engine bay air. That defeats the purpose of even installing a CAI. A waste of $ on the DJ, IMHO.
  3. I use my iPhone 6 for NAV. I found a neat mount, made by Insignia, at Best Buy which clips to the center vent. The phone is connected via bluetooth, but if you also plug it into the USB in the console, it will dim the volume on the radio while SIRI calls out navigation points. Being plugged into the USB also charges the phone, and the phone will stay on until the trip is complete. No need to spend extra $. The way I see it, the phone/map is at eye level; you do not have to take your eyes off the road to look at the map. I had a lockpick in my Nitro, but see no reason to get one for my DJ. Dealer installed my rear view camera as part of my purchase agreement.
  4. I saw a white one yesterday. Nice ride.
  5. I'm have been patiently waiting 1 year for the iOS8.xx update! The current limit is iOS7.1. I searched ebay and found an iPod Touch with iOS7.1. Still does not work.
  6. Do Bridgestone Duelers count?
  7. Update. When I went out to look for the lights on with wipers setting, I did not find it. After looking for it, I remembered that there was an auto setting for the dash lights and headlights. I chose not to use it for the reasons stated above. Is the lights on with wipers only on DJs with auto headlights? Or, where is it under settings?
  8. Welcome to the forum. You'd be better off just putting a K&N in the filter box.
  9. Dee, I use the MPG calculator on the small center screen. I rarely go on the freeway. I reset it everytime I fill up. Initially, I was getting 13 - 16. Now, 5,000 later, I get between 17 - 21, depending on the number of red lights. Mine is FWD, 3 rows. You are experiencing torque steer, where it wants to pull the steering wheel out of your hand. This can be easily be solved by both front 1/2 shafts being the same length. The old chassis the DJ is based on may not have allowed for this. I just keep a tight hold on the wheel with my right hand when I know that it's going to do it! If you are experiencing torque steer all of the time, then you are killing your MPGs with your wild take offs from a complete stop. I have read a lot of bad press on the DJ but I am completely satisfied with mine. People look at it all the time. I have even been asked if it was a Jeep!
  10. Welcome to the forum. Maybe greasy fingerprints from the installer? I had Dealer install mine when I purchased my DJ. My view is crystal clear and in focus. I do not know if there is any focus adjustment.
  11. You can not compare an Envoy to a DJ. An Envoy is an SUV build on a truck frame - S10. Full frame. Separate body. The DJ is a crossover, unibody - no frame - based on the Avenger. Dee, aren't you the member that bought the brand new 2013 in 2015? The reason that you are having so many problems is that your DJ might have spent some time under salt water during Sandy. These are not supposed to be resold, but crunched. But, any way to make a buck! You know how the game goes.
  12. Welcome to the forum. Sleek
  13. My daylight is set to 10, nighttime is set to 7. If I want 7, I just rotate the dimmer down 1 notch (click). It is not automatic (I did not know that it was supposed to be), but I like having control over it. Lights on with wipers is a safety issue to me. I always turn my lights on with my wipers. I did not know that there was a setting for this. I'm going out to find it right now!
  14. Odd that third row is standard again. It was when it first came out.
  15. See if you can get a crossover and use them as super tweeters. The huge windshield acts like an enhancer to the highs. Let me know how they fit. The Factory Alpine amp may do the crossover for the dash speakers. In the stock system, the dash speakers are on the same channel as the front doors. The old MyGigs were rated at 66w - 16.5 w/channel. I'm guessing that the 8.4 is as least that! Your Alpine amp may use the radio as a pre-amp, or cut it out entirely.
  16. My insurance, USAA, considers the DJ a Sport Wagon. That may indicate the insurance quotes you are getting. My DJ actually costs more to insure than my 2011 Nitro which I traded!

Welcome to the forum. If you are able, I would recommend getting an extended warranty because of all the electronics.
  18. Welcome to the forum. They are not mandatory in the US. I had to have my Dealer activate mine once journeyman425 added the sales code to my build sheet.
  19. Yeah, they are under water. Maybe they will find Atlantis. If he does mount it, it will have to go up through the hood so he doesn't suck any water into the engine.
  20. Go with the blacked out headlights and tail lights on the Crossroad or Blacktop option. You will not be disappointed!
  21. Instead of pi, can it be a cheesecake?
