Yes, the BBcode Mode icon on the upper left hand side of the posting box. I'll be leaving now: 116..............117....................118........................118.5 Damn, where did I put that phone?

Welcome to the forum. If you can afford it, go with the V6, because of the weight of your family. I am usually by myself, and have to feather the throttle, or I'm constantly breaking the front wheels loose! When I first laid eyes on my DJ, I knew I had to have it! The color blew me away. I was concerned about not having AWD, but did not need it at all. After reading comments on the forum, I put new tires on mine: Bridgestone Duelers. They were excellent in the snow, and I'm not carting the extra weight of AWD. A day may come when I wish I had it. But, so far so good. I'm almost at the one year mark with a little over 5,000 trouble free miles. I love the looks. I think that the Copperhead Pearl should have been exclusive to the Crossroad, IMHO! I have seen a few Crossroads this past year, but they somehow don't look right!

I also like my music to move me - so I can feel the music. My wife was a DJ on a local rock station for 20 years. Yes, I'm the one who replaced my dash speakers. Crutchfield lists no replacement for the dash speakers because of the amount of room under the defroster panel. There is a little more room on the passenger side. Alpine makes two tweeter sets. The only difference is the crossover. The set with the bigger crossover will not fit because of the defroster ducting. I asked the Best Buy tech to mount the top of the tweeter on top of the speaker grill, but he thought that the grill might shatter if he tried drilling it. So, they are under the defroster panel and aimed toward the back of the car. Amazing what they put out. The radio will only go to 38 volume, but there is absolutely no distortion or clipping. I used to listen at 20, but with the amp, 16 is good. The gain on the Kicker can hurt my ears! And, vibrate my jeans if they are baggy enough. I'm really happy the way that it turned out, but I still want to compare mine to a factory upgrade. I have yet to see a DJ at my Dealer with the option. I have seen the factory amp on ebay for $100 or less.

I'm going by what the Best Buy Tech told me when he installed my Alpine "Brick" (Power Head Unit) amp. He told me on the DJ it was 6x9. When I bought my DJ last summer, I made a deal with my Dealer to install the rear view camera. The tech removed all of the interior panels on the driver's side. I took a look back there; there did not appear to be enough room for an 8"sub. And, definitely not enough room to move air!

This is the new Jeep Renegade. It is made in Italy. Built on the same chassis as the Fiat 500x. But, it does have a Trailhawk version. My Dealer has a couple. The Patriot and Compass are still being made, so have no clue what Jeep is up to. This reads like it was written in China. The English is pretty bad!

Your Alpine sub is a one-way 6x9 crap paper speaker. It gets it's power from the factory amp. It is located behind the left rear panel - not much space in there to move air IMHO. I added an alpine amp and a kicker sub to my non-Alpine system with no loss of fade, so I have no idea what he is talking about. If you want to replace the factory amp, call Crutchfield.
-
I upgraded mine to an alpine system, but of my own design: 4-6x9 2-way in each door, tweeters+crossover in the dash, amp behind the radio, and a Kicker sub in a ported enclosure with gain control at the top of the bin in the front part of the console, mounted under my seat. Still have not been able to compare it to a factory Alpine. The factory Alpine is supposed to have a sub in the left rear panel, although it is a one-way 6x9!

I got the premium floor mats, already in place, and the cargo net (it holds plastic bottles so they don't tip over) in a bag, but no front license plate holder. Had to buy it.

That's what we are here for!

He's in Poland. The head appears to be from a 4 cylinder with DOHC, but it is either gas or diesel in Poland. They used Volkswagon diesels in the EU

Ooops - I was thinking touching the wrench to anything metal when removing the positive cable. Been there, done that!

Which engine do you have?

2nd gen DJ parts on a 1st gen?
dhh3 replied to Micheal Ralston's topic in Accessories, Modifications
The incandescent tail lights are still standard on the Low Line DJ. The LEDs are on the ones as you move up the scale. So, yes, they are interchangeable. There is 12v going to the tail lights. The ballast or whatever is required for the LEDs is located in the housings. As a side note, there is a thread on the forum where a member wanted to swap his incandescent tail light bulbs for LEDs. I removed both light assemblies on the left side of the my DJ, and took all kinds of pictures for him, and posted them for him. He never replied! :-( Since there is 12v at the tail lights, I have no reason why trailer wire harnesses come with or without LEDs. Makes no sense to me. -
You touch that positive cable to anything metal and your car is dead!

Playlists, or folders?
dhh3 replied to BrianS's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Yes. The album cover art. Uconnect only supports iOS to 7.1. I searched high and low and found an iPod Touch on ebay with 7.1. Downloaded my iTune Library to it, plugged it into the USB and all I got was a list of songs - that was it. That is why I went to the SD card. The art display is where the generic music note is, just like the MyGigs. I miss my RBZ MyGig! -
Welcome to the forum. We only bash people who complain about having to push a button twice, or taking pictures of the speedometer while going 118 mph!

Welcome to the forum.

NO. Disconnect the negative terminal for at least 30 minutes for radio issues. If you disconnect the positive terminal, you run the risk of frying all of your electronics!

Playlists, or folders?
dhh3 replied to BrianS's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
I did it by putting my iTunes Library into my music folder on my PC. Direction for doing this are on the internet. Pluged my SD card into my computer, and copied the iTunes folder from my music folder onto the SD card. No Art would display. I looked at each sub folder on the card. One folder was just code, so I removed it. All art displays except the ones I downloaded from iTunes(Apple proprietary file). I can select music by an alphabetical list or the titles of the songs, by artist, by album, alphabet key pad. Everything works. I gave up on using the USB. -
Key Fobs Not Working
dhh3 replied to Sarah Peters's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs, Locks & Remote Start
Welcome to the forum. The Fobs are the Transmitter. Since both are doing this, it may be the receiver. -
You can add it. It is a module with a stick on microphone. You will have to find out if the 2009 is a High Speed Bus or Low Speed in order for it to work. You are lucky with the old style radio. Remove the radio and unplug the big gray connector. Plug the harness that comes with the kit into the radio. Then plug the harness that was in the radio into the new harness. Done. Run the microphone wire and stick the microphone wherever you want. The directions may say by the driver, but I put mine in the middle of my Nitro. I do not know where the module mounts on the DJ.

Could the noise be from VVT? Both cams on each side are constantly advancing and retarding as you drive. The VVT gears are in front, so they would be close to the passenger side fire wall on the E/W orientation and both would be in front in the N/S orientation; so, not be as noticeable. Just a guess.

Engine overheated - now have poor gas mileage
dhh3 replied to MNGator's topic in Engine & Transmission
My temp gage has always pointed slightly below 1/2 since new. I don't know the actual temperature because I have never looked at it. I keep my center screen on fuel economy and reset it every time I fill it up. I very rarely drive the interstate but if there are no lights I can get up to 21; a lot of lights and it can drop to 14 - 15. Bought it new not quite one year ago. -
