Hill Start Assist in Uconnect
dhh3 replied to lynne's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
bigtsr, does your Jeep have Start/Stop at traffic lights? This is the first time I have ever heard of Hill Assist on an automatic transmission. Usually, the torque converter stall speed take care of this. -
Has to be a bad converter in the harness. Can you unplug the harness, and plug the tail lights back to the way they were? Do they work properly?

Reflashing the transmission brings it back to factory specs. It will then "learn" your driving habits and shift accordingly. The previous owner probably drove it differently than you. I purchased mine new, and have never had an issue. Usually, I can not feel it shift.

Hill Start Assist in Uconnect

Hill Start Assist, at least in a Subaru, puts the brakes on when you are starting on a hill with a manual transmission. As soon as you give it gas, and release the clutch, the brakes release. Are you saying that you have a manual transmission? This is not offered in the States, so it would not be a function of Uconnect. -
You say you don't want a V6. IMHO, the Pentastar is almost too much engine for my FWD DJ. Torque steer is horrendous. Why could they not come up with equal length half-shafts? I can burn rubber in any instance, even with my oversized tires. I have to keep my hands tightly on the wheel while hard downshifting, but she scoots when necessary.

Might be the lock up clutch for the torque converter if it is only happening between 45 to 55 mph.

NEW AFTERMARKET HEADLIGHTS!
dhh3 replied to mrkick210's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
I can see why. When the mood stirs me, I'll probably just get a set of Silverstars. -
The hatch itself is plastic. The sensor may be built into the light.

For what it is worth, the IP installed halogen projectors just like I put in my Nitro. They look cool, but as stated, light output is horrid! -
Radio Screen went black

Welcome. My choice would be to cut a square hole in the screen and slide an RBZ MyGig into the hole! -
I used the Mopar harness. This harness has a series of Relays wired into it. Does the Curt harness have any relays?

There is a YouTube video where peanut butter is used to clear foggy headlight lenses. Maybe it would work on these. Note: not Chunky.

The DJ is only rated to pull 2,500 pounds, and this amount decreases as you add passengers and luggage. Therefore, the DJ is not set up for a trailer brake controller. Can you change the trailer to surge brakes?

Everyone has a right to his/her own opinion. I only buy from my Dealer. No issues.
-
Yes. Because one would be assured of getting genuine parts, and the installer could stand behind his work.
-
Beware of auto store parts. Autozone sells cheap Chinese junk knockoffs.

SRT4 maybe?

What indication(s) did you get? CEL?

2 years and 13,000 miles with mine with no issues, except two small recalls. For the life of me, I can't figure out why the press is so down and negative on this vehicle.
