  1. Close, but no cigar! When you are done, you can come over and do mine. No yard work for a month for me! OK; when is a hood not a hood? When it's ajar!
  2. If you are in no hurry, find one with Uconnect installed. Uconnect can come with both the big and small radios, but the camera is only compatible with the big radios. With Uconnect you will have Bluetooth, and you can use your phone for GPS. I do. Works fine. I have started a couple of threads in the Audio section of the Forum. Just adding the right speakers can make the stock radio sound 100% better. I bought a small Alpine Amp, aka brick (because of the shape) or Head Unit Power Pack. I got it for $128.99 @ Best Buy because the box was opened. 45w/ch. It gets installed Thursday, and then I am finally done with my sound. I do not believe that I have spent $800 on everything that I have done. I'm dying to compare my sound to a DJ with the optional sound to see how they compare, but my Dealer does not have one on the lot.
  3. Yes. It seem as though each model has its own distinct wheels. But I'm not sure if they would be available as an accessory.
  4. Yes, it is true. It becomes a proprietary file belonging to Apple, and will only display on Apple Products. But it can be un-encrypted as you said.
  5. I should have mentioned that the camera is right in the middle; just above the licence plate. And, the lens does collect a lot of dirt, just like the rest of the back of the car!
  6. There is an option for antitheft, a more involved one that comes with the DJ. Maybe the hood switch would set off the alarm.
  7. The connecter that ends by the spare tire is not "hot" until it is flashed. I'm trying to do this also, but I posted on the Crossroad Hitch problems thread. What a headache! LOL
  8. I don't remember the name of the card, but it is the same kind I have in my digital camera. I did notice something. When I was loading my CDs onto my computer, a few had no artwork. So I went through iTunes and found art that was close enough. These do not show on the SD card either. All art shows on my iTunes library, my iPhone and my iPod. Infuriating. I loaded most of my CDs onto my RBZ MyGig in my Nitro, and EVERY art displayed. I do not know what Chrysler was thinking when they came out with these new radios. If they are supposed to do something, they better damn well do it! LOL Maybe just bring back the HD. The radio does look like a MyGig, only without the screen. Oh yeah: SansDisc!
  9. Looks awesome. Nice job. The one thing about Plastidip, you can always peel it off if you are not satisfied and start over again. Is it the silver piece under the license plate you want black? That will look good.
  10. No. Everything looks the same, so it appears that a sunroof can be added to mine. They may put the switch on the flat area on the third section of the console. There must be space enough for the glass to slide above the rear Heat/AC controls. Many thanks.
  11. Well, at least I received the correct P/N for the hitch. Is this the correct harness that I need: P/N 68080976AC http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/6988-4-pin-wiring-harness-with-new-pics/ This member has 2 threads going on this harness. This one appears to be a 4 pin flat. He bought it new, but never used it. Or, is the number you gave me for a 7-pin round receptacle? Journeyman425, thank you very much for the help that you have given me. If the above harness is not correct, I will google the number that you gave me and see what I can come up with. Funny, the dealer on ebay lists the correct P/N for the hitch. They must be using an old picture. Is the harness P/N 68080976AC the harness that would come from the factory with a DJ with the Trailer Tow Prep/Group? I want to know what I'm talking about when I go back to my Dealer, because this number is not on the sheet which they gave me! One more question. All I need is the hitch, the harness, adding the Trailer Tow Code with a flash and I am good to go? Thank you again.
  12. Than Thanks for the pictures. In the third section of the overhead, where the switch is, mine is just flat. And hollow. Do you have the rear Heat/AC mounted to the roof?
  13. Took the TSB to my Dealer. We will wait until the weather gets cold again. So far, I have not recalled hearing it.
  14. The rear view camera is integrated into the black piece above the license plate and also holds the license plate lights. If it has one, that's where it will be.
  15. I, too, am trying to install a Mopar hitch on my 2014 Crossroad. If I go to the Dodge web site, and go to Owners; then Accessories, it say that the Mopar hitch will not fit any Crossroad. The part number for the hitch is 82213561. I googled this P/N, and a whole bunch of Dealers popped up. Each one said this hitch will fit the Crossroad; 2014 and 2015. My Dealer says that the Mopar hitch will fit, but they cut out a piece of the lower bumper and install a black nasell that also has the 7 pin round connector attached, to give it a finished look. Just like on my Nitro. Journeyman425 just posted a picture, on another thread, of his DJ with the Mopar hitch, and the receiver is below the bottom of the bumper. So now I am really confused. On ebay, I searched Dodge Journey Mopar Hitch and one of the Dealers actually has a picture as the guys at my dealership described; the hitch is up in the bottom section of the bumper with a 7 pin round receptacle. http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRAILER-HITCH-RECEIVER-09-15-DODGE-JOURNEY-OEM-BRAND-NEW-/181694950403?fits=Make%3ADodge%7CModel%3AJourney&hash=item2a4ddcec03&vxp=mtr I asked the parts guy what harness I would need, and 4 P/N came up, but with no illustration: 82209 771AB Wiring Trailer Tow 82204 645AB Bracket Kit Trailer Tow 56038 138AA Harness Wiring 601 5756 Strap Tie I have the oil cooler and the harness which terminates behind the spare tire. I think that the only harness I would need is the harness that plugs into the receptacle by the spare tire. Is this correct? Is this the same harness that comes with the DJs from the factory with the trailer tow package? If so, does anyone know the part number of this harness? I left Parts, and went over to my Service Advisor. Going by my VIN and Build Sheet, they can add the sales code and activate the harness which I already have; the one that terminates by the spare tire. At least this part is good news. Does anyone know what the 4 P/Ns are? Do I need them? I do know that I need at least one harness. OMG. This is nuts. Just to install a hitch
  16. There was a set for sale on the forum, but I'm not sure if he ever sold them.
  17. Last night I was looking on the driver's side, but I now realize that it is on the passenger side. I have the exact same connector. Nothing is plugged into it. Weird.
  18. Were the 4 cylinders always rated @ 1,000 pounds from the beginning?
  19. Yes, I got every Album Art, except for 4 new ones that I had just bought on iTunes. I can not explain this. After many hours on the phone with both Apple and Uconnect, they can not explain it either. I am patiently waiting waiting for the Uconnect upgrade to iOS8.2. Maybe then I can get the iPod to work correctly. The SD card now works flawlessly. It totally integrates with the radio as it should. I can pick songs from a list, search by using the alphanumeric keys, repeat or shuffle between 1 or more albums, or just the whole list. I just downloaded a new album from iTunes, but I have no idea how to play it. It was up in the top, under "recents" but it does not show up on the card. I can live with this!
  20. I wanted to add some Signal Mirrors, but the service department at my dealer gave me a lot of crap about how hard it would be. There is a wire loom that runs down both sides of the car, usually accessible by removing the plastic door sills and pushing back the carpet. The wire for the rear turn signals would be in this. All one would have to do is find the correct wire, and tie into it. With the Signal Mirrors, it would be more labor intensive: pop off the old mirror, and install the new one and hook up the wire. A fender mounted light would be a lot easier. Maybe it could be mounted under the mirror. Anyone on the Forum with a Service Manual would be able to tell us the color of the wire. Or, remove the outboard lights and see what color the wires are to the light!

    Hi from NZ

I was just thinking that the export DJs might not say AWD on them, since the model nomenclature is different. Good idea, though.
  22. There were many, many members on the Nitro forum that used Plastidip, and it never seemed to chip off. But, you can just pull it off if you want. I wish that I could be of more help to get your grill off. I'm sure that there are other members who have removed their grill.
  23. Nice color! Awesome! LOL. And, I finally get to see a DJ with a hitch! Looks good. Does any of the lower bumper need to be cut, or is it just close? I thought that a lot more of the hitch would be exposed. Is that the Mopar hitch? And if it is, is there a 7 pin round connector or just a flat 4 pin? Thanks.
