  1. Salt Lake City has always been #2 on my list of where I would like to live.
  2. I bought the Kicker sub from 1/2 Price Audio on ebay. List price: $250. I offered $200 and they took it. The smaller one did not allow an offer; only the stated price.
  3. Welcome to the forum. Indications, at least to me, are a bad alternator, because it got so hot. There may be a break in one of the coils. Also, with batteries in this day and age can show to be fully charged and still have a bad cell. These 12v electronic systems in cars may start to do wacky things, even with a slight voltage drop. Do you have a spare battery that you could hook directly to the car? At least, you could shorten you list of possible items before buying an alternator.
  4. I had one on my Nitro. It was the easiest way to install a back up camera. I'm not sure if I need one on my DJ.
  5. Even if he had a 2009, wouldn't there be an ACC position? His current vehicle says 2014.
  6. Odd that it is not optional on the Crossroad. If I go to the Mopar site, the Mopar hitch will not fit my Crossroad. But from Mopar Dealers on ebay, the Mopar hitch will fit my Crossroad. Go figure!
  7. All DJs come with 6 crap paper speakers. The sub is mounted in the left rear interior panel. Hold your ear to it and see if any sound is coming out of there. The only difference between the 2 systems is the external amp, and the sub and 6 upgraded crap paper speakers. BTW, I do not believe that the Dealer lied to you, because he told you that he had never seen anything like this this before. I took delivery of mine way too fast, before checking it out. The salesman pointed out the leather door panels; I figured that with leather seats it would have heated seats! Wrong. So, I added a seat heater to the driver side. There is some sort of sensor on the passenger side that prevents a heater to be installed. Take the $. Install 4 6x9 Alpine 2-way speakers; one in each door. Install 2 Alpine tweeters with inline crossovers in the dash. Install one 8", 150w Kicker underseat sub. Finally, add the Alpine "brick" amp. Done. The 6x9 Alpines improved the sound 100%. I can turn the volume all the way up: no clipping or distortion. The Kicker sub is unbelievable for what it is. The enclosure must be ported like the Bose radios. This unit improved bass 1,000%! Even the tech at Best Buy was in awe. I can vibrate all of the mirrors and my pants legs if they are baggy enough. The sub has a remote gain dial mounted at the top of the center bin, so I can adjust the gain between songs if I have to. Also, the sub runs on a 15a source, just like the radio. The amp is the same way: so, no monster cables to the battery. Those little Alpine tweeters are amazing. The tech swivel mounted them facing the interior of the car, rather than up towards the windshield. There is just enough room for them, under the defroster panel. He could not believe how the highs were being distributed around the interior of the car. All this, and I have not lost any interior space at all. This was my primary goal as I have a 7 seater. My driver's seat is powered; the sub is under there with no fitment issues at all. Kicker makes these for single cab pick ups, but it is awesome in a DJ. The amp gets installed on April 16th. Take the $ and run. I have a couple of threads in the audio section of the forum. I think that I listed the price for each, as I went along. BTW, I have never heard the Premium System in a DJ. My goal is to go to my Dealer and see if he will let me listen to one. Hopefully, he will have 2 DJs side by side, one with and one without the Premium system. It is a good way for me to judge; but I can't really use mine for comparison unless I'm just comparing mine to the Premium System.
  8. If you have your FOB with you, push the Start button until ACC lights up. Done. If you have already done this, why do you want to do it a different way?
  9. I have the wrench/settings also. I have no idea what the + might mean, unless you choose it for something else/
  10. Well, my first Winter is finally over; I can honestly say that I did not miss having AWD. The car did exactly what I expected of it, and my confidence grew daily. Who knows what will happen in the future.
  11. Maybe they are not being installed correctly, which may be causing undue stress.
  12. Once all the dust has settled, what would be the best replacement bulbs for the high and low beams? I do not want to open my housings; just change the bulbs. I think that I could go to one of the Auto Part Chains to have the replaced.
  13. TSB = Technical Service Bulletin. This is something that may need to be done, but it is not an all out recall. If you still have a warranty, the TSB will be covered. If your warranty has expired, you will have to pay for the TSB if you want it performed. The more I reread this post, I am of the opinion to just walk away. If the DJ was at a Dodge Dealer, I might be more inclined to purchase the vehicle. With all of the things listed, you would be in for the fight of your life with a GM Dealer. Ultimately, the decision is yours. Good luck.
  14. The DRL Sales code can now be added, once again, be added by your dealer. That is how I got mine.
  15. On the Nitro 4.0, the optional oil cooler is added between the filter and the block. Is is the same way on the Pentastar? If so, possibly it was not reset properly at the last oil change.
  16. I think that these have been posted before. Nice, but no way would I send that much $ to China. The The projector Halos for my Nitro were only about $250.
  17. FYI. Factory DRLs come on as soon as you put the car in gear (D or R). Mine are my high beams at a lower power. But, I have seen DJs that use their front signal lights as DRLs. Not sure when/why the change came about.
  18. Possibly. When I feel up to it, I will go out and try. I will post a detailed report on my findings.
  19. P255/50R19 Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus. Absolutely no rubbing. Maxed out for diameter because I can not get my index finger between the top of the front tires and the bottom spring plates on the struts. Maybe a little wider, next time.
  20. My bad. I was going to use the USB adaptor under the dash to charge the iPod if I could get it to work, but I think that the USB in the console is the only one that actually communicates with the radio. I took a round file, and filed a 1/2 round hole on the leading edge of the small sliding tray in the console. When the lid is closed, there is enough room not to pinch the USB cable, and the cable does not run across the top of the tray, getting in the way. I just make a big loop from the USB port, guide it through my hole, and just leave the other end in the console bin if I'm not using it. Does'nt seem to get in the way of anything, including the shifter.
  21. I was unaware that the code can not be added. Bummer. I didn't have them on my Nitro, and finally got used to turning them off and on. My 2006 Commander had them. Go figure.
  22. Awsome! Would be nice to have these in the DJ.
