  1. My iPhone 6 with iOS8 works perfectly as a phone with Uconnect; phonebook, everything. However, music is another story if you have music on your phone. Just an alphabetical listing of songs, in album title alphabetical order. Uconnect is working on a fix for iOS8, but they wouldn't say when it will be ready.
  2. A while ago, end of summer or early fall last year, someone on the forum wanted to install the LED tail lights. I went to the trouble of removing both left side lights, taking pictures and posting everything for him. He never answered my post. Anyway, the lowest priced 2014 DJ still has the non-LED tail lamps. Not sure about the 2015s. I did not think that Dodge would make 2 different wire harnesses for the rear lights. If you unplug the harness from the LED taillight, there is 12v going to the light. The converter for the LEDs is built into the housing. Just an FYI if anyone was losing sleep over this!
  3. And, if you do find a used unit, Sirius will think that you are driving the vehicle type the unit came from. When I had my 2011 Nitro, I swapped out my radio w/Sirius 2x. First time, they thought I was driving a Jeep; second time I was driving a 2014 Town and Country. It was a dealer take out because someone wanted Nav. You should have listened in on the conversation when I called them to drop the subscription on my "minivan", because I traded it for the DJ. Since it was a new radio, and I had extended the subscription, they had to add that to the DJ. I think I'm paid up for not quite 2 years, but I confused the poor girl at Sirius because she couldn't figure out why I traded a 2014 T&C for a 2014 DJ. She was so confused, that she had to get 2 or 3 more people on the line. Finally got it all sorted out after about 1.5 hours! Then, I received a bill for $2.15 that is not due until August 2015.
  4. As stated, you will need the external Uconnect module. These are very easy to install as they come with a harness that piggybacks onto the grey connector on the back of your radio. They come with a microphone that you can stick anywhere. The instructions say to put it on the driver's side A pillar, but I put it in the middle, by my rear view mirror, on my Nitro, so everyone can join in the conversation. Since you have the old style dash, you have real easy access to your radio. They are held in with 4 screws, behind the dash overlay. I am not familiar with how to remove your dash overlay. It took me about 1/2 hour to install it in my Nitro. But, once installed, you will have to bring it into your dealer to have it activated and added to your sales code. When I added mine to my Nitro, back in 2011, the units ran around $250. I see them all the time on ebay. Search: dodge journey uconnect
  5. All 4 doors are 6x9. There are no replacement speakers for the dash because of their odd shape. I put Alpines in my doors, A Kicker underseat enclosure/sub (8") under my seat and am adding Alpine tweeters to my dash next week. These tweeters have an inline crossover. Can't wait to hear them.
  6. There is a silver box that sits behind the dash. It looks like a MyGig without a screen. I believe that this is the radio. You would need one of these that has the Navigation installed. As far as the icons on your screen, they may display with the new unit. And you would need a GPS antenna. I have never wanted Navigation incorporated with the radio in any of my vehicles. If one part fails, you lose the whole unit. Usually, I get a Garmin. Mopar used to sell Garmin units that had mounts/enclosures that were vehicle specific. But, no more. Now, I just use my iPhone for Navigation. When I plug in a route, the phone, via Bluetooth, stays on for the duration of the trip, and silences the radio when instructions are called out. And, plugging the phone into the USB charges it while I am using it for Nav. I have an Insignia mount that clips onto my middle vent. This puts my phone at eye level, where God intended all Navigation units to be.
  7. Nice job. I have never seen these before. Does each one have its' own CD/DVD drive? There is an extra rear view mirror on the dash! Does this have anything to do with the installation?
  8. I have actually never seen a DJ with a hitch. More than likely, the Mopar is probably made by one of the well known hitch makers, but there have been a few posts on here where the OP gets the hitch installed someplace other than the dealer and then can not get the lights to work. So, I am going to play it safe. I will pay more, but will be included under my Warranty.
  9. Kicker sub has been installed. Even the tech was surprised on what it puts out. With the remote gain control, I can not turn it between 1/2 or my ears hurt. Simply amazing for something so small. I decided to replace the dash speakers with a set of Alpine tweeters. They have an inline crossover. They will be installed a week from today. I am no expert when it comes to sound. For me, it either sounds good or bad.
  10. For 6 bucks, I will try these. Thanks for the link!
  11. I will go with Mopar when I am ready. I intend to let my Dealer do the installation. This way, there will be no problem with adding the "code". I already have the harness that terminates behind the spare tire and the oil cooler.
  12. OK. I guess I missed that one. Thanks for the heads up.
  13. #1. I am not arrogant. In fact, this is the first time in my life that I was ever called that. #2. Read the thread I posted on the Forum: A Tribute to my Wife. Now, tell me that I am insensitive. #3. Last time I checked, I didn't seem to be stupid. But, then again, I didn't spend the night in a Holiday Inn. #4. I would suggest that you fully read a post, before you respond to it. OP stated that she bought her DJ new. Therefore, she had a 3 Year/36,000 mile Warranty which would have addressed any of her issues. If she continued to have the same problem after her warranty lapsed, it would have been noted in her record, and would, therefore, still be covered. #5. She has made 2 posts on the Forum: both were bitch sessions. Every Forum that I have ever joined attracts these kinds of people. For all we know, she/he may be driving a Chevy Volt. Or, a Tesla. #6. Take a deep breath, and count to ten. Now, don't you feel much better? I do.
  14. What is the other one for? I guess that is the one I have.
  15. Isn't the DJ rated for only 2,500 pounds with the Trailer Prep Group?
  16. OMG - that old "Read the Manual Thing" OK. I just bought iPod and ITunes for Dummies. And, I have to read the manual too?
  17. Yes. Phone works fine. Music is another story. Uconnect only supports iOS7.01. I searched forever and finally found an iPod Touch with iOS7, but it does not play nicely with the Uconnect. I want my RBZ MyGig back!
  18. The sensor is the little dome that sits in the center of the defrost cover. I have one, but I do not have auto headlamps, so I do not know what purpose it serves. Another thread on the forum says the harness is taped to the steering column. I have been told by 2 different techs that I have a wire hanging down by the radio. If this is the harness for auto headlights, all that would need to be done, at least in my case, would be to connect the harness to the dome sensor, and exchange my light switch for one that has the AUTO position. My Dealer quoted me at least $2,000 because they have to remove the dash. If I could find the harness, and since the forward part of the dash is a separate piece, I was thinking that I could do it by removing the defroster cover, fish a coat hanger down to the steering column, locate the harness and pull it up to the sensor. I have the sensor; I am not sure about the harness.
  19. Welcome to another Crossroad to the Forum!
  20. That is a little over 1/2 that I paid for my Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus, P255/50R19. Good deal!
