I moved my passenger side for the first time last night - smooth as silk. Did exactly what it is supposed to do.

You do have more choices for tires, when it comes to 17".

I just purchased a set of these to replace the dash speakers. The tweeter housings have threads to screw onto their base. They can be surface mounted, or reside below the dash grill. The base is slightly angled so they can be positioned to throw the sound in whatever direction is best. They come with an inline crossover, since the dash speakers are already full spectrum. In speaking with Crutchfield, there is no direct replacement made for the dash speakers, and I read on the forum that this is because of their shape. These tweeters also have an odd shaped mounting plate which may work, so they can be installed under the dash grills. Idealy, I would like them mounted by drilling a hole in the speaker grate on the dash. Only the top of the speaker would be visible, and they could be aimed in the best direction for sound. If the mounting plate works, they could be mounted under the dash grill. I will have the tech at Best Buy North Store install them as he did a great job with the Kicker Underseat Sub Enclosure/Amp. I have already replaced all of my door speakers with 2-way 6x9 Alpines; so this is the "end of the line" for sound improvements for me. I'll let you know how he mounts them and how it sounds. These are 4 ohm, so they match the Alpines in my doors. Depending on how they are mounted, pictures to come. If the 8.4 is like the MyGigs, they are 66w; 16.5w/channel. Presently, I can turn the volume all the way up with no distortion or clipping. So, I'm curious to see how these tweeters will sound. When I am by myself in the DJ, I run the volume around 20, but I have to turn the bass gain up or down depending on the song.

Did you buy your DJ new? If not, run a CarFax on to see if it was ever hit on that side. Either something is missing, or out of alignment. Also, do you have a sunroof? The drain tube that runs down the A pillar may not be positioned to drain properly. If there is snow on your roof, the sunroof will get warm on the inside melting the snow, and then the water will run down the drain tubes.

They may be able to move the top rear edge of the door by moving the bottom hinge. When I bought my new Nitro, both rear doors were out of alignment to the point of wearing off the paint. My Dealer's Body Shop fixed both in about 5 minutes. Since you just picked it up, there may be no damage to the paint, but check it anyway as previously noted. And if this were me, I wouldn't use the door until it is realigned to protect the paint.

if you want a cai for your journey please read!
dhh3 replied to 2011sxt's topic in Accessories, Modifications
I have the latest, and last Mopar Accessory Catalog for the DJ. No CAI is listed. To get an accessory now for the DJ, you have to go to the Dealer. They have an Accessory Section in their parts manual. I have always asked for an Accessory Catalog when purchasing a vehicle. When I bought my DJ, I asked for one, and was told that Parts had them. Went to Parts, and was told that they no longer print them. He looked around, and finally found one for me. There is not much in it. There are some available on ebay. -
Well, I learned something this week. I had never reset the AV MPGs to 0. When I filled it up Tuesday, I reset A trip meter as I always to track my mileage for the week. I reset the average MPG to zero and it immediately jumped to 24 as I drove out of the station. Now it is staying between 17 and 19 again. Is the average the immediate average, or the average over a period of time? If it is the average over a period of time, I will reset it to 0 every time I fill up!

As time goes on, the seat is getting easier to move. But, I only move the one on the driver's side. I have never moved the passenger side. Maybe, one day when I'm really bored I'll go out and try and move it!

You must be blond. If you bought it brand new, your 3 year / 36,000 mile covers everything except tires, which have a warranty from the manufacturer. What problems did you have, or are you too embarrassed to list them? Bought mine brand new last June and have had 0 issues. And, NO, I am not blond!

Aftermarket amplifier/subwoofer

What are "the sail panels"? I ordered the Alpine Tweeters. They surface mount - they have an angled mount so you can point them where you get the best sound, or they mount under the dash screens. There is also an odd shaped mounting plate which may align with the odd shaped dash speakers. -
Uconnect issues
dhh3 replied to Number-Six's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
When you take your radio out and reinstall it, it knows where it is; so you don't need a code. If you stole a radio and put it in your DJ, it would tell you to type in the code. -
I like my Crossroad Rims better. No chrome going on my DJ!

There are no replacement speakers for the dash, because of the shape of them. I'm looking at a set of Alpine tweeters to replace them with; either surface mount them, or drill round holes in the speaker grills. The sound should reverberate off of the windshield. If I do this, I'm done with the audio. -

Do you have an extended warranty? If you keep it you know what you have.

Looks really good with your Blue DJ. And I agree that you should do the headlights. Then, it will look awesome. Good luck getting the lights apart so that you can paint them. I saw somewhere on the forum where someone had a set of black headlights for sale. Might still be available.

Where did you put your sub? 2 row or 3 row? Pictures, please.

My Nitro was like that. On and off in less than five minutes. Looks like Dodge is going backwards on this one! Does anyone know if the Blacktop and Crossroad grills are the same? Just curious.
