Most of my driving is in town. I keep the small screen in the center on MPGs. Last fall I was running around 17.5. Now, in this cold weather, it is in the middle 14s! It's like I'm driving that Nitro again. But, I still love my Copperhead Pearl Beauty.

So, an HID bulb can reside in a projector housing, but they must be compatible with each other? Do the 9005 and 9006 HIDs put out more light than Silverstars or Phillips? Are they worth the $?

Looking good. How does the shark fin affect your reception? Also, did you add the V6 logo on the lift gate, or was it already there? Please explain how the lights function. They do look good.

I printed out the page from the forum where it stated that the sales code had been added again. I took the page to my Dealer. SM confirmed it, and added it for me. No charge, and they even washed my car! Now that I have DRLs, I'm starting to pick out DJs with or without DRLs. The Black Crossroad that I have seen twice now does not have them. I have seen DJs that use the high beam like mine does, but I have also seen a couple where the orange turn signals were the DRLs. When was that change made?

7F here. We are heading for the coldest February on record, but no where near what winter was like last year. Anyone see the videos of people in Boston jumping out of buildings into the snow? Looked like fun.

I agree with you 100%. Mine is also FWD. I thought that I might encounter issues without AWD, but so far, she's been a trooper!

Welcome to the forum. Got my Crossroad last summer. I have seen a black one 2 times now.

The old style MyGig radios had a separate Uconnect/bluetooth module. I'm not sure if the new radios are that way. When I had my Dealer install the rear view camera as part of my deal, they had taken a lot of the dash apart. I have the 8" screen; there was a silver box which looked like a MyGig, with out the screen. All of the normal MyGig connectors plugged into the back of this box, so it must be the radio. So, maybe the Uconnect/bluetooth modules are still a separate unit. They were a small black plastic box, but I have no idea where it would be if it were still a separate unit. But the connections piggy backed into the radio connectors.

Parts should be available. Body shop has to determine to replace door, fix the door or just replace the skin of the door. Same with the fender: fix or replace. If your Dealer has a body shop, go there first. And, then get a second opinion if your State requires more than one. The B post could be damaged. They should be able to determine this on a frame machine.

What are switch back turn signals?

Is the push to start button wired to the starter, or wireless?

My 2006 Jeep Commander with QD II developed a strange noise coming from the front. They replaced the gears in the front differential. I paid my $100 deductible, and was leaving my Dealer, and the noise was still there. Installed a new Transfer case. Noise still there. Removed transmission, tore it all down, and found nothing wrong. Inspected rear differential. Nothing wrong. Reinstalled transmission. Noise still there. Removed front drive shaft. Noise gone. Opened up the front differential. New gears, only 2 weeks old, wearing out with chipped teeth. Ordered completely new front differential. It seems that the original housing was cast wrong, so the bearings could not be properly set in place. Noise gone. Evening Service Manager Fired for not catching this on my first visit. So, extended warranties can be worth the money. I was on vacation out on Long Island, NY when the noise developed, and I passed my 36,000 mile limit on my way home. I did have it checked by a dealer in NY, but they could find nothing wrong. They didn't charge me, but I had proof that the noise started before 36,000 miles.

Both of those vehicles have the engine sit North/South. The Pentastar puts out over 300hp in the same configuration. The 283 is probably due to a restrictive exhaust because the engine sits East/West. Remember the days when Pontiac owners were bitchin because they had an Olds engine? Wait till the Cadillac guys figure they have a Chevy engine. What ever happened to the Northstar?

I guess that it is time for me to read my manual, too! I just went out and looked. I have never noticed the little slots in the door handles for a key!

I found an 8", 150 watt self amplified Kicker unit which fits under the drivers seat. It can pop my ears, and vibrate my pants if they are baggie enough. It will vibrate all of the mirrors. It came with a remote gain which is velcroed right next to the power port in the bin under the heater controls. I had no idea that it would sound this good. No RCA jacks required, and it ties into the 15a radio circuit. So, no monster cables going to the battery either. I put 6x9 Alpines in the door. I can turn the volume all the way up with no clipping or distortion, but my ears can't take it! I can now feel, as well as hear the music.

According to Crutchfield, there are no replacements for the dash speakers. They are not even listed. I may try to put a set of tweeters in there if I can find some to fit. All 4 doors are 6x9. I installed Alpines because they played the best bass of all the speakers displayed on the Best Buy display wall. Sounds 100x better.

There is a receiver in side the vehicle. I have no idea where it is. I have never used either FOB. I always lock it with the little black button on the door handle, and unlock it with either the door handle or button on the tailgate.

Glad that no one was hurt. What is it like to be in a car and have the air bags deploy?

I had a 2011 Nitro when I no longer wanted to make the huge payments on my Commander ($42,000 new, and a 4 year loan - my choice). I loved that Jeep, and hated the Nitro from day one. Even adding mods didn't make me like it! But I am now happy again with my vehicle. Not much out there to mod the DJ, but the few things that I have added make me like it even more. I saw a Dodge Ad on TV last night: 4 black Dodges racing each other: Charger, Challenger, Durango and DJ! This is only the second ad that I have seen for the DJ!

I weigh the benefits against the side effects. If the side effects get to be too much, I start reducing the dosage until I am comfortable. I have all the instruments I need to monitor whats going on inside my body. Of course, my Doctor does not approve. I sometimes wonder if Doctors get kickbacks from the pill pushers?
