I still have my 09. Has only 97k miles. Had it’s share of issues, but I have a lifetime extended warranty so don’t worry about it... I did just replace the factory radio & Uconnect system with an aftermarket Kenwood system, which was a breeze, sounds and works great.

Maybe your oil additive plugged the filter?

I just love when people buy used cars and expect them to run like it just came from the factory. When you buy used you buy someone else’s issues... just my 2cents...

Key fob
OhareFred replied to Sheryl's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs, Locks & Remote Start
If the car is starting by itself I think it’s more then a fob battery issue. The car is getting a start command from somewhere. I suppose you could take the batteries out of both FOBs and see if it still happens. Thinking you may end up at the dealer. -
I got 4 years out of my factory battery. Replaced it with the biggest AutoZone top of the line and have no complaints. Factory is not always best. In my Jeep Cherokee people are getting 3 years on average and run away from the factory batteries,

Did you find the door after your only post? Hope it didn’t hit you in the ass.....

Did you have the Dodge computer flashed for towing? That’s the only thing I can think of. Even though the tester works, the fact that everything on the trailer works properly with other cars leads me to think the bulb draw is too much and the Dodge is reading the increased draw as an issue. I know if you want to use the factory trailer wiring the car needs to be flashed, might be the same here....let us know what you find out.

I yanked the stereo out of my 09 and put in a Kenwood with car play about a month ago. My unit did not have any heat controls in the radio. It was just the radio, sat, and worthless UConnect. That being said, Crutchfield has and adapter, Meistro I believe, that allows you to swap out units and not lose things. Try looking there. Good luck!

I’d start by having the alternator tested even though it’s only a year old. Did you get the correct size battery? If you are having electrical issues you need to fix that, then see if you still get a mil light. Electronics in new cars are very likely to do bizarre things if the Voltage is off....

Knocking sound from rocking steering wheel left to right
OhareFred replied to SylvainB's topic in Engine & Transmission
That doesn’t sound right. Any needed “adjustments” (alignments, etc) that are required after a warranty repair is covered under the warranty. It might be different in Canada. If your not in Canada it’s time to start complaining. If you paid by credit card contest the charge. Contact FCA and file a complaint. PM dodgecares -
Knocking sound from rocking steering wheel left to right

Quick question, if it’s under factory warranty why were you charged anything? -
Headlights Full of Water
OhareFred replied to JeremyJ's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
There is a rubber vent tube on the back of the headlight assembly. If it’s plugged it can cause this to happen. The fixture needs to breathe especially with halogen lamps that burn very hot.. -
Dodge journey 2008 2.0 diesel crd won't start

Let’s not forget this is a diesel either. Could be something else we are not familiar with as well... -
That’s why 1-I always buy an extended warranty and 2- I buy new, not someone else’s troubles....

No check engine light, but car won’t accelerate
OhareFred replied to Marley's topic in Engine & Transmission
Sounds like the trans is toast. It starts, runs, but won’t move=transmission issue..... -
You need to flush the entire system. Both heater cores, the lines, block, and radiator. Sometimes squeezing the rad hoses and heater hoses while the car is running can work the air bubble out... check the heater hoses, both in and out should be hot, if not there is an issue....
-
Thinking you have an air block in the lines and may be low on coolant. It looks full but because of the air bubble no flow. Not sure how to get rid of it, I take mine to the dealer for repairs. Maybe someone else will chime in....

touch screen not working

Did you check the fuse? Maybe blew when you jumped it. I blow a fuse for my drivers lighted mirror and Homelink installing a new Bluetooth mic. Wires look fine but it blew anyway. Since changed it’s fine. Who knows what electrical gremlins live in these cars......??? -

Did you check your coolant level? If you have 3 zone heating there is a separate heater core in the back. Do you have anything leaking from under the car? The hoses for the rear heat are low. Any wet carpet anywhere? Not sure if there is a separate blend door control for the rear. Could be any of these or a combination of all......dealer may be your best bet before you start guessing and replacing parts. The rear heater hose assembly is about $500....
