Merry Christmas ??. and a healthy happy new year ??? !!

People who have done it say $1,000-$1500. Taking the dash off is easy. The radio is what costs and unless you want to give up whatever else shows up in your display, aftermarket is a no. I know with my 09 aftermarket would be fine because no heat/ac fan, etc controls show up in the display. Search upgrading the radio on this forum, you’ll see what I’m talking about. Things like this are 1: the reason I get extended warranty when I buy a car and 2:suck that the car manufacturers are eliminating the aftermarket upgrade....

Is the key in the on position? Disconnect the battery cables at the battery for about 30 mins. While your at it have the battery tested. I don’t see how the brake job has anything to do with this unless a wire loom by the master cylinder got damaged....

I can just about guarantee it’s not the cold weather. More likely a transmission issue. You may want to have a trans specialist look at it sooner rather than later....

Help with 8.4 touch screen
OhareFred replied to Journey1456's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
Yea,that’s going to take a professional electronics repair guy. Try a computer/cell phone repair place, you might get lucky. -
Keep the faith brother....I had18 months of rehab, 4 surgeries including a total knee replacement when I put my femur through my knee and broke the tibia plateau. I walk pretty good, a slight limp. Cold damp weather kills Me so AZ here I come (as soon as my son finishes college). Do what they tell you, you’ll come out fine.

LED brake light out but... (2015 SXT)
OhareFred replied to rumblestripe's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
Well, we now know 2 things: 1: the eBay light is good and 2: your issue is the wiring. Normally I’d say check with a volt meter, but not sure what voltage you should be looking for. Maybe someone has a wiring diagram they will share. Again, check the wires around the grommets etc,....not much help, I know.... -
LED brake light out but... (2015 SXT)
OhareFred replied to rumblestripe's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
I don’t have led lamps on mine, but could you possibly test it on the side that works? It obviously won’t fit in the mounting location, but there might be enough wire to plug it in and see if it works. If so, start looking at the wires on the side that doesn’t work. Hope this makes some kinda sense... -
I am wondering if it’s the switch. Wiggling the wires may be making contact.....

Or look at the window sticker or build sheet and see if it has it. I thought all cars had to have a backup camera as of 2018....

Voltage regulator is built in the alternator. Check all connections at the alternator. Get a professional test on the alternator done. Could be a bad diode, could be something else. Hard to diagnose electrical stuff without being there....let us know

Did you check to make sure it’s in park? Did you try starting in neutral? Is it cranking or doing nothing? More info needed.....

Possible they need new batteries. Although my 09 still is working fine on the originals...

Wasn’t there a TSB about this? I recall something about a flash or something.. The clock in my 09is spot on, no navigation.

possibly not a drain but bad connection
OhareFred replied to poindexter's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
IDK. Replaced my OEM with an AutoZone equal a few years ago and never had an issue. If yours was undersized somebody put it there. If your car is operating correctly your battery will not drain. Find what’s causing the drain and stop blaming the battery.... -
My 3rd row headrest fold down when you lower the seat and to allow a better view when the seats are up but no one sitting in them. Unfortunately I cannot help the OP...

and I’ve been using 2 AutoZone batteries (1 in the DJ,one in the Sebring Convertible) for 3 years with zero issues. It really is a crap shoot, isn’t it

Navigation repair

Try Factoryradioparts.com -
Try wiggling the gear shifter as well. The steering wheel trick is mostly for cars with the key on the column, but it won’t hurt. Wiggle the shifter as you are pushing the start button with the fob (use the fob, not your finger, to push and hold the button in). If you still get nothing, I agree, get a tow to a mechanic or dealer that deals with electrical issues/. Could be any number of things. Good luck....

What oil additive and why? I have 95K miles on my 09 and never added anything. Change every 5K miles with synthetic. Never really heard of a ruff idle when you need an oil change but what do I know. maybe add some SeaFoam or other heavy duty injector cleaner to the gas tank, see if it helps. Could be something with the intake manifold. I had a condition where the car would die when cold going from R to D. Would do it once then not again till the next time it got cold(10+hours of sitting). Dealer replaced the intake manifold because some kinda internal valve was screwing up. Fixed the issue but I don’t know what code was thrown, sorry.....

^^^^^agree this is a Carmax issue, not Dodge if your out of 3/36 Not the first time I’ve heard of issues with Carmax warranty. i would be curious to see what exactly is covered by their warranty. Did they give you any paperwork that lists what’s covered?
