  1. Did you have the recall for the ignition switch done? That could be it. Try putting the car in N and see what happens...
  2. If you are the original owner 09 had a lifetime powertrain warranty. You had to take it to the dealer every 5 years for a “checkup” but that’s it. Again, non-transferable, original owner only...
  3. Next time unscrew the antenna before you go through. I had one snap off at the base and had to change the entire base! Good thing it was under warranty
  4. My 09 RT had all the buttons and steering wheel controls and did not have bluetooth. The Bluetooth module was added by the dealer and since I have hands free phone control. Maybe your module went bad.
  5. I changed my battery and had no issues at all. Something got knocked loose, or something failed at the same time. I doubt changing the battery caused all this. On the neg cable there are a couple of wires along with the battery cable. Check by the battery, maybe one broke or isn’t connected. good luck!
  6. If my dealer refused to cover it because I was 31 miles over I’d be looking for a new dealer......
  7. The emergency brake has absolutely nothing to do with the car starting, trust us. What happened was a coincidence. Was the weather warmer then when it wouldn’t start? Even if it was just around freezing it could have been warm enough to let fuel flow, let the pumppump, anything. It was not the emergency brake, unless of course it was crushing a wireloom or something. good luck!
  8. Which engine? on the 6 they should be replaced around 100k (on the 09 at least) but to do it you have to take the intake manifold off, thus the high charge. I was lucky, my DJ was in the shop getting a new intake manifold so my service manager changed the plugs at the same time (82k miles). A little early, but all I paid for was $60 for plugs. No labor.
  9. If its turning over but not catching the battery is most likely not the issue. Couple of questions, 1: is it turning quickly or slowly? 2: how much gas is in your tank? 3: any check engine lights. with the extreme cold it’s possible your fuel line froze. You could try putting some Heat additive in the tank, but if fuel isn’t flowing it won’t be much help. I know in Chicago it’s going to be above freezing this week. Hopefully it will be by you too. If its above freezing and the car starts, add fuel line additive (Heat or any freeze preventive) fill up and drive for awhile. if it still won’t start, could be any number of things, fuel pump, sensor, just about anything. If the check engine light is on have it read so you get the code, that’s at least a good starting place. good luck!
  10. Mine just snapped by themselves. No rust proofing involved. I think the engine compartment heat makes the plastic brittle and they snap from vibration. Just a theory
  11. Thats is where I got my information from. Common problem that has been discussed many times here. A couple of UTube videos showing great short cuts without removing the dash. You don’t HAVE to take it to the dealer. If your handy you can do it yourself, or find a local mechanic that will do it. Good luck!
  12. My 09 has 84k on it......I think I need to drive more......lol
  13. You don’t need to take apart the entire dash. Check tube, there are a few videos on how to do it.
  14. Take it back and have them do the job correctly. Did they flush the heater core or replace it? Did you check your fluid level, is it full? What does the temp gauge say, is it in the normal range or low? It could be your thermostat. Cars need to be maintained and even then things brake or wear out. The cars 8 years old, gotta expect things to go wrong.
  15. That sucks when you put a part on and it lasts 10 minutes. Very frustrating! A couple of things could be wrong. Are you sure the starter is sitting flush/flat? Did you use the shims? Sometimes you need shims to properly seat the starter so it doesn’t hang up. Are you over/under tightening the bolts? Did you check the mounting surface for some kind of defect? The way its breaking tells me something is stressing the housing, obviously. The question is what. Maybe some others will have an idea.....
  16. The jet could be broken also. Easy fix, about 30 seconds a side. Got mine on Amazon, 2 for 8$ is ringing a bell.....
  17. If the engine light is on, there is a code stored. You need a code reader to reset it so take it in. Doubt the jump has anything to do with it. If something was hooked up wrong the battery light would be on or the car wouldn’t start.....
  18. If there was an error your MIL (check engine) light would be on. Is it? My 09 started fine, backed out the driveway, then died when my wife put it in drive today. First time that ever happened. It was also zero out. It started right back up and has been fine since. No reason why, it just did. Your issue is different, but I couldn’t guess why mine died, nor why yours won’t start/run. Sometimes it cheaper in the long run to take it to a mechanic. It could be something simple, or something else.
  19. Glad you figured it out! I would have thought for sure it was the AC system. What your are saying makes perfect sense. Fortunately for me I don’t see -25 on a regular basis..lol. Although today it was -3 about 6 am. A balmy 5 now....gotta love winter! NOT!
  20. I am not sure, but from what I have seen they all are 8.4 inch touch screens with UConnect Access on 2017 & newer cars. Might be earlier, but I don’t know. Maybe Bamfrank knows, he’s big on the radios..... my build sheet even says “nav activation available, see your dealer.....
  21. Looks like another one post wonder....
