  1. Did you use a brake tool and turn the rear pistons in, not just compress them? If you just compressed the rear pistons in they are damaged and you'll need to replace the rear calipers.
  2. Try a new belt from a different store. Be sure to follow the under hood decal exactly. Let use know....
  3. This was talked about in the past. As I recall there was a TSB for the dealer to reflash something. Hopefully one of the other members will be more helpful. Sorry.
  4. Your dealer is just trying to get your service money. Your 5/60 warranty is good as long as you have receipts for regular maintenance items (oil changes, etc) and you do the required items when they are due.
  5. I dont think the belt is on correctly. Blow up the picture and you will see the belt is not touching the pully on the right. Take it off and reinstall it according to the underhood picture. Perhaps they put the wrong belt on and "got it to fit"
  6. I doubt its because of the remote started. Try disconnecting the car battery for 30 mins, maybe it will clear the issue.
  7. Got it now! Although I have never heard of spraying oil inside the door sils, etc. I understand what you are talking about. We use alot of saltin Chicago during the winter as well, but never had to do anything like that to my cars. In the 60-70's undercoating/rust proofing was big, but not so much anymore with newer cars.
  8. Could it be undercoating? Maybe he translated from French and it didnt come out right....
  9. Thanks! Hate being a pain in the ass but he obviously didnt belong here. Dont want people turned off the forum because of one jack-wagon! Have a great day!
  10. Or a scrap yard. Might be able to find a wreck and talk one off...
  11. Well you are proving you are! You haven't posted one valuable comment yet!
  12. Service the rocker panels? Sorry, I must be having a tough morning, I have no idea what you are talking about.....
  13. I put the biggest one (both cca and physical size) that would fit. A bigger battery is definitely better. Never heard of such a thing as having to go to the dealer after changing a battery, but if you are worried pick up a memory saver (a 9 volt battery that plugs into your power socket) this prevents the computers from losing everything while you change your .battery
  14. Do you get any flickering with these bulbs? I tried led high beams but with the car running the passenger side flickered so much it was distracting. I tried resisters, a replacement bulb, and switching bulb sides. Same results. Only the passenger side. Weird. I have an 09 btw...
  15. Was there a recall for the clockspring?
  16. Look in the owners manual on how to rest the door lock rutine. I know on my 09 you can do it. Ive had to do it once before.
  17. I have an 09 that I bought in July of 08. All in all I've been lucky and happy with my ride. Nothing major ( engine ,trans, electronics) has gone wrong. Not to say I havent had issuse, just nothing that big. Couple of things that suck: the Kumo tires didn't last, but my Michelin's are just fine. The orginal rotors and brakes were terrible, but I switched to ceramic with aftermarker rotors and now they are way better, both in stopping and lasting. Not bad considering how heavy the car is. Its had a couple of recalls but what car doesnt. I've used Mobil 1 oil since I've had 300 miles on the car and do the required maintenance. What I really like: My MyGig radio with the hard drive, the hands free UConnect, the folding seats, the factory remote start, my lifetime extended warranty. Important to have a good dealer (so many suck) and I would purchase an extended warranty just because of all the electronics in the car. Good luck!
  18. Welcome aboard! Tons of information and knowledgeable people here! Feel free to ask questions or send a reply! Enjoy the car!
  19. I could get +20 mpg if I drove like an old lady everywhere I went. I love those people who are so worried about their mpg they hold up traffic, do exactly the speed limit (or under) in the left lane, and just putt along oblivious to everything around them. I really DONT CARE what my mpg is. I go from place to place, moving with traffic, not holding anyone else or myself up. I have a V6 for a reason. When I step on the gas i wanna MOVE, not putt along taking 3 city blocks to hit 30 mph. I dont lead foot it everywhere, my tires dont squeel and I get 16-18 mpg. I dont expect more nor do I care if I get less. I use my remote start both in summer (ac) and winter (heat). Sometimes I get 13 mpg! So what. It doesn't mean I drive like an ass. Haven't gotten pulled over or a Ticket in over 15 years so I would say I drive average. I understand where gwin99 is coming from and enjoyed his posts, but there is ALWAYS going to be somebody who knows better. GWIN99 continue to post your updates. Just my 2 cents.....
  20. That is strange...I was thinking the fob battery as well but if it works properly now thats questionable. Maybe in the mountains it was colder then you thought, or maybe your fob was in an outer pocket. If it were me, I would change both FOB batteries anyway. They dont cost much, are easy to change, and may be the answer. Let us know....
  21. How about some of that spray rubber in a can. The kind they show on tv. Pound down the dent and spray from the outside....
  22. Im sure if you go to the dealer they can order you one. I really doubt there are aftermarket. In the meantime, throw some good quality duct tape on the outside of the crack, that should help for a bit.
  23. Theres been a ton of people on this site how installed aftermarket hitches without cutting anything. Sounds like your dealer sucks. Search the site for hitches, youll find info. A Curtiss hitch cones to mind....
