  1. There are a couple TSB's for battery drain on the DJ. Go to your dealer and see if they were done ( not sure if you cancheck yourself). Not sure, but I think a TSB is done for free (but again, not positive about that).
  2. Sorry you were offended. Shit happens, thats why we have insurance. Your high deductable is your choice, myself, my deductable is $250. Yes I may pay more, but if something like this happens its not that big a hit. I really am sorry if you were offended, I'm sure the OP didnt mean it to be nasty.
  3. Hey bramfrank, glad to hear you will be willing to share your fix if someone wants to try! While I dont have nav in my DJ, its nice to see that if someone is willing to try it your fix is available. Good work!!
  4. I get Goodyear blades from Costco for mine. Last about 8 months and are 4.99 when they are on sale. Work great. As for the rear, I just went to AutoZone and got one there. Working fine for almost two years, no issue with lifting, etc. Dont have a clue what brand though. Obviously I dont use the rear wiper that much.....
  5. I call every 5 months and tell them to cancel, then I get another 5 months for $25 US. Been doing it since my free year ran out. They will try to keep you.
  6. Go to autozone, pepboys, etc. give them your year and mosel they'll give you one that fits. I bought mine from autozone(Duralast brand) and it was around $150 US. The battery is in front or the drivers side front wheel but not a big job.
  7. The timing belt should have been changed around 100,000 miles also. While you are changing the timing chain, might want to replace the water pump while your in there. 100,000 miles is an expensive maintiance milage mark. Plugs, timing belt/chain, water pump. Likely around $1,500.00 US $. If you take it to a shop. Must remove intake manifold to change the plugs. The water pump is internal, so you may as well swap it while your in there changing the timing belt/chain...,,.
  8. On my 09, the outlet with the battery on it is always live, the one with the key on it is on in accessary or with the care running. I think the one in the back of the center council is always live. The one (s) with the battery should always be live....
  9. My 09 RT battery lasted exactly 37000 miles and about 4 years. On the other hand, the battery in my wifes 04 Sebring lasted until last year and about 100 K miles. It was still good but I changed it anyway! Go figure. I used a battery from Auto Zone (Duralast) was about $150 USD but has a 6 year guarntee, bla bla bla. Its in front of the drivers tire, but not that bad to change. I agree with you, if its just the battery I wouldnt go to the dealer, but if its the charging system, take it to the dealer for sure. Good luck!
  10. Try disconecting the battery for about 30 mins. If everything seems correct, maybe that will do it.....works for alot of things on the DJ.
  11. Agreed, match the wire colors up with the other end. I would solder and shrink tube each wire on the repair.
  12. The nav is not a program, you need a different radio. Cheaper and easier to use a portable device like aGarmen. Easier to update the maps also. The bluetooth is a module that you can add, but after you install it you must go back to the dealer to have it activated.
  13. Good luck. Don't think you'll get any help from FCA....
  14. Fogs and high beams fit with no problem. Havent done low beams. You may need a load resister with the led. Might get an error message or flickering without it.
  15. My bad. Your insurance will go after them, still no reason to go nuts. Lol
  16. Now now, lets no go nuts just yet! Plenty of time for that. Just remember, no one got hurt, you both have insurance, and its just a car. Could be alot worse. I know you are not happy about it, one of your prized possessions was violated due to someone else's carelessness. Id be pissed too. When you get it back, it should be good as new. Bodyshops have come a long way! Keep the faith!!
  17. Read it again. How would my headlights blind me??? I gave them a couple turns down so I was not blinding others. I do not get flashed by other drivers, so no need to readjust for the high beams. Also, lets not get the light bulb war going again. Lol
  18. Dont see why, not going to have them on if another car is approaching, plus when I put in my HID bulbs I turned them down. I get noone flashing me now, so all should be good.
  19. My guess is the battery cracked or shorted internally. Not an uncommon thing when you get wacked in the front or drivers fender. Insurance will cover it.
  20. No, the battery light will come on if your charging system is bad. Does the car crank? Did the airbags deploy? It doesnt take much to turn on the headlights, but starting the car is another issue, espically with all the computers in them now.
  21. Jumped on the LED High Beam bandwagon. Got some Stark 80watt (40 watts per bulb) LED conversion bulbs off EBay fo $39.99. All I can say is WOW! Nice white, bright high beams for travel in the boonies. Took about 10 mins to install because the drivers side is such a bitch to get at lol!
  22. Your battery is located right in front of the drivers side tire. Might have been damaged in the accident.....
  23. You could try hitting the gas tank a few times with your fist or a rubber mallet. It is possible the sending unit is stuck at the full position. Perhaps the tank was overfilled? Put a little more in after it stopped ( we all do it ). Dont get carried away and dent the tank, just a few taps should do it,. Who knows, you might get lucky! Also, some auto parts stores will check your codes for free, then you dont need to buy a scanner tool.... If its the sending unit, the fuel tank needs to be dropped so I would take it somewhere for that. Good luck!
