uConnect Mic Installation
OhareFred replied to mfeel's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
I have mine on the sunglass holder (the thingy above the rearview mirror) on the drivers side. Out of the way, not that noticable, works great there. -
Well, I have a very good charger for my Iphone and IPad. It has two 2.4A USB ports (4.8 A total) and a total of 34 watts, so a small 100 watt inverter would be overkilll. You should be able to plug that into a power outlet with no issues. May be easier (and cheaper) to use something like that. Not as clean looking, but should work for your needs.........just a thought....

No, every time u want to use it you need to push the botton (only once, not twice like the defrosters). Not sure how its installed, never looked to be honest..,

My 09 did that to me once on a road trip. Light came on, stayed on for a few hours and two gas stops, then went away never to return. Nothing was stored either. I found a code reader for $17.00 from an on line one saje a day site. Ordered it, thing works great! Plain english read out and can clear codes too. Best $17 Ive spent on this car! Of course, now that I have it no light will ever come on! Lol

Ive used a wide flat blade screw driver or a small pry bar. Reused mine several times with no issues. Not to be a smart ass, but do you realize they are two parts? A "pin" for lack of a better term and a "receiver" ifyou will. Slip your screwdriver between the pin head and receiver and carefully pry down. Sometimes if you get it started you can get some long nose pilers behind the head and pull down....not that hard

Check engine light -- low power then light turns off

One would think the dealer would do that....hopefully they just didnt clear the stored code on you. -
Rear Wiper Coverage
OhareFred replied to lytefall's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
I used aftermarket for my rear blade with no issues what so ever. Seeing you have tried several different brands with the same result, perhaps the arm is bent. Could be easy enough to do if your original blad was tuff to get off. Might want to check to makes sure its not pulling away from the window.... -
Somebody busted my antenna...
OhareFred replied to ckl's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
My 09 antenna broke in the car wash. Dealer replaced under warranty but it required the headliner being removed. Any chance you can use a broken screw extracter to remove whats left of the screw? Then u can just get the replacement antenna and screw it in..a word to the wise, I now always unscrew the antenna before using any car wash.... -
Be afraid......be very afraid......lol

Radiator cooling fan not running on low, high coolant temp
OhareFred replied to whitesxt's topic in Engine & Transmission
I would go back to the same dealer and tell them they did not fix it. If its doing the same thing it was doing when you brought it in they should be working with you. Im sure there are high and low temp sensors, maybe one is bad, but they should be covering it.... -
Hey Red, his car shudders and dies. Sounds like something with the converter not unlocking.....

Airbag light on and no blowers
OhareFred replied to Zues3976's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
When all else fails, have you tried the 30 min. battery disconnect to reset everything? You have nothing to lose..... -
Why dont you try resetting that option? As I recall there was a procedure in the owners manual how to setup unlocking the doors. My DJ isnt here now, so I dont have access to the owners manual. Do you have yours? Three years ago I had an issue with the auto up/down windows, so i reset them and havent had an issue since. Let us know....

Radiator over heating and interior heating
OhareFred replied to MissMindy's topic in Engine & Transmission
Do you have third row seats with temp controls in the rear? If so you have a seperate heater core for the rear, BUT that has nothing to do with the overheating. Could be a thermostat, water pump, blockage, or blow head gasket. Bite the bullett, you are going to have to take it to a competent mechanic who can properly diagnose what the issue is. He can tell you if its safe to drive. Can't do it from Chicago over the internet.- 16 replies
