Im not sure the cost would out-weigh any benifits. The seats dont weigh that much, and you basically have to rebuild the back end, but anything can be done if you throw enough money at it. I don't know first hand how much is involved, but it seems to me not to be worth the effort. I have the third row seats and used them about half a dozen times since 09, but I just keep them down. If nothing else, the third row may increase your trade in value. Hopefully someone else can be more helpful than I was, good luck!

Auto Enginuity
OhareFred replied to UltraNutZ's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs, Locks & Remote Start
I didnt see where it can add sales codes. Looks like a typical scan tool to me, but just did a quick look. -
Thinking about it, the Ford F150 I drive at works reads the texts and allowes canned answers that u can pick with the steering wheel controls. The Hyundai Tuscon I drove did it too. Must be some super duper tech people Dodge doesnt have.......hhuuummmmm......

Strange stalling issue - Tranny?
OhareFred replied to George Kalavanos's topic in Engine & Transmission
Maybe take it to a tranny shop. Could the torque converter be locked up?? I would think you would get a code, but ya never know..... 09 had a lifetime powertrain warranty, but only for the original owner...sorry. Let us know what you find! -
Since you have them, try a test fit, might get lucky. Good luck!

Welcome aboard! Good group of people here, tons of good information available to you!

I agree that the overheating and battery are two seperate issues. It does sound like a blown head gasket BUT that doesnt mean you need a new engine. You need new head gaskets (replace both), check the heads and block, change the oil and filter, BUT you must find the reason for the overheat. A thermostat or bad water pump are very suspect. Check the waterpump while the head gaskets are changed. Id change the thermostat just because your doing all this work and t stats are cheap. Good luck!

Random Chime During Hard Braking
OhareFred replied to lytefall's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
If your fluid is that low check your pads. Brake fluid doesnt just get used up. When your pads are new, the fluid will be at the full mark. As the pads get used up, the caliper piston stays further out, lowering the level in your master. If you are below the low mark either 1 you may have a leak or 2 your pads need replacing. Adding more fluid wont really hurt, but will make a big mess when your brakes get done. If you dont know about brakes, take it to a trusted garage and have it checked. Not something you want to mess with if you are not familar on how to do brake repairs. Good luck! -
2016 dodge journey- rear doors
OhareFred replied to devo13's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs, Locks & Remote Start
Who doesn't know about child locks on rear doors? They have gotta be at least 10-15 years old, right? My gosh, READ THE MANUAL or look at the door! See the little lock/unlock picture? Move the lever to the unlock spot! Good luck! -

Uconnect went out (temperarily
OhareFred replied to nvdale's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Well I'll be dammed! I did not know that. I was always taught if you had no continunity at the fuse pins, the fuse was bad, if you did, the fuse was good. Never too old to learn some new shit! -
Uconnect went out (temperarily
OhareFred replied to nvdale's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Fuses cannot be intermittant. They are good or they are bad. Circut breakers,on they other hand, can be. I dont think there are anycircut breakers for the electronics. More than likely if its not a bad unit you may have a loose wire, bad connection, dirty connection, etc. good luck! -
Did you notify the dealer they didnt fix it? If not do so. They should continue to attempt repairsbut you should not be paying deductables, etc. you should only be paying for the repair that fixes it. Leave the car if you have to, but if they changed the clockspring and its worse than ever, i wouldlook at the wiring coming from the wheel to the computer. Best of luck....

I can't believe thats a total. New door, fender, straighten, should be good as neww, unless there is a lot of damage we cant see. Best of luck! -
Im with you 100%! My last dealer was a pos, making me feel "privileged" to bring my new, broken, car to them for service. My dealer now is how a dealer SHOULD BE. They greet me at the car door, listen to my problems, keep me updated on progress and either give me a loaner or set me up with a rental. On top of it I didnt even buy the care from them! Love those guys like family! Yes, a car is a machine and machines break, even brand new ones. It is time for car dealers manufacturers start treating people who ask for service just like they do when they want your $$$. They only reason they do recalls most of the time is because they are forced to. I agree, recall times are too excessive many times but if new parts must be designed and manufactured, well if they rush it there will be another recall. It doesnt bother me to wait if im not having an issue. Someone who is stranded can have my part, ill get the next one. Sorry for the vent, I dont bleed Dodge, orChevy or Ford either. Owned them all. Just think dealers should treat people like they are buying, not repairing all the time. NO OFFENSE to our very helpful Dodge connections here, you guys are great!

Stereo usb
OhareFred replied to Princess Lucy's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
It can only handle so much, not sure what the max number is. This has been discussed many times, try a search if you need more information. -
I agree, try another dealer. I also agree that ranting on a forum may not get it done BUT it sure makes ya feel better! Rant on my friend!
