  1. Kinda sounds like a motor or trans mount. Hard acceleration will make the motor "twist" and make the clunk. Remember these engines are sideways so there is a front mount.
  2. You can always change the fluids early, no harm to anything but your pocket book. On my 09 with 60,000 miles, this fall I changed trans fluid, and coolant. I change the oil every 5,000 with Mobil 1. I never tow, but live in the city, in Chicago where temps can be -20 to 105! I'd rather change early than be on the side of the road! Owners manual are kinda like guidelines, stating the max. time and miles, imo. Good luck!
  3. I keep looking for thses on my 09 R/T and don't see any lights although the build sheet says they are there. Maybe they aren't even working! Lol
  4. I haven't hadrustproofing done to any of my cars since the 90's, never had rust either. Traded my 2000 (which I got in mid 99) Durango in for the DJ, not a speck of rust. Chicago uses tons of salt. I just wash the car when weather permits in the winter.
  5. My 09 with 60,000 miles had the leather drivers seat start to crack/peal on the side in two spots. Every other seat is perfect. I maintain the leather with leather cleaner and protector. Even the drivers seat is clean and not worn. Took it to the dealer, took pictures, dodge told me tuff crap. Another feather in the cap of Dodge customer service. I was looking for a 50/50 deal or something, they told me to pound salt.
  6. Read the third post, it describes his fix
  7. Oh, I hear ya Journey_SeXT! I've know plenty of neighbors who were the "keep the ball because it's on my property". I'm lucky now, my neighbors are great and living in the city, pretty close. Like you said, Fear thy neighbor!"
  8. Wow, kinda harsh don't ya think? I try to get along with my neighbors, it goes a long way. Just sayin...
  9. Now that's bizzare! Let us know what you find out!
  10. Have the car checked for stored trouble codes, write them down, then clear them. See if that cures the issue, or try the " disconnect the negative cable for 15 mins" and see I'd that cures the problem. The lite may be gone, but a stored code could be screwing things up. Good luck!
  11. Decoration. Really, that's all, no function at all other than making the engine look nice...
  12. How did they "make a new key?" Isnt it a fob? Did they send a guy to program a new key fob? If so, I wouldn't complain too much, I dontknow of a dealer around here who will send anyone anywhere for anything! Best of luck! You gotta expect issues when you buy a used car, hopefully all your are out of the way!
  13. Hey all! My 09 has the factory backup camera on it. My display does not show the red yellow green "guide lines". Does anyone know if a new camera would show them, or is it a computer thing? Thanks!
  14. I have a 09 R/T and if it was me, I'd go with the 12 because 1: 09 was first year and had its issues(brakes, wire looms, power steering pumps/hoses/res). 2: the lifetime power train warranty on the 09 is original owner only 3: newer is worth more down the line. I have FWD but would take the AWD if I had the choice. All that being said, choose whichever you like best!
  15. I have mine still, although I cancelled once, but then turned it back on when I started driving a lot. I pay $25 Us every six months. I have to call every six months, tell them I'm going to cancell unless they give it to me for $25 for six months. Worth the call every six months! Try it, you might get the same deal!
  16. In the city of Chicago, regular is around $2.479, just outside Chicago its anywhere from $1.899( costco) to $2.29.....
  17. I have an 09. I also replaced the rotors and pads with aftermarket and haven't had an issue since. If it has the stock Kumo tires plan on replacing them, they suck in snow or wet. Other than that, I really haven't had any issues with my R/T. Wish it was AWD though.
  18. The battery in my 09 lasted until 2014. The battery in my wife's 04 sebring convertable lasted until 2014. It was still going strong but I replaced it when I replaced my Journeys battery, figured it was time.
  19. You can always try the " disconnect the battery cable" cure. Try disconnecting the neg battery cable for about 20 mins. That should clear the codes, see if they come back. If so, time to visit the dealer, it could be something unrelated to the oil change.
  20. I didn't mean to imply you were not competent. I was only offering a suggestion on your post. Did you ever get interrupted in the middle of something and miss the obvious? It's happened to me, but maybe I'm incompetent! Who knows? Maybe you knocked a wire off reaching for the filter, removing something, etc. good luck. Ps: my V6 takes 5 1/2 quarts to the top of the fill line on the stick.
  21. Not to be a smart ass, but did you check the oil? Did you reset the oil change reminder? I don't know if that would matter, but who knows. Maybe you put too much, or not enough oil in? It can happen to the best of us. I have not seen this here before. Like bigstr mentioned, maybe a wire got knocked off something. Good luck!
  22. Would you rather drop it off and have it sit there for a week before they look at it, or keep driving it to see if it becomes more pronounced or perhaps goes away? Not every dealer has room, or enough help, to get everyone in right now. Bigger issues come first. Myself, I would rather have my car and keep driving it. If it blows up, it's on them anyway. I understand you might have wanted faster service, but your car was operating ok, you just "felt something". How about the guy who's car won't start, run, move at all? In the end, it was checked and found to be ok, which is good! Just my 2 cents worth.
