  1. Man, what is up with DodgeCares?? What a useless response.
  2. My 09 I can take my foot off the brake and I don't move at all. I'm though it had "hill assist" or something like that built in.
  3. Sine my 09 has a lifetime power train warranty, I'm taking mine to the dealer. I might pay a little more now, but when the tranny goes maintence issues are on them.
  4. As far as I know u need to drop the tank. If the tank is dented, it should be replaced. Argue on that one...
  5. On my 09 there is an adjuster on the head light housing, about 1/2 way up the housing, towards the inside of the engine bay. Hard to spt, but you'll see a up and down arrow. It took me awhile to find when I installed my hid kit, but 2 full turns ( over a period of a few nights) did the trick.
  6. Dodge was offering an extended warranty on 09-12 brakes on DJ. Contact Costumer Care or have your dealer do it ( while you are there) and see if they will cover it. Nothing to lose. Search the forum, it's been covered to death! Good luck!
  7. You may be able to have the rotors cut. If the pads are fine and you are not having brake issues, do nothing. The rotors will rust in areas that the pads don't touch. If that's the case, you have nothing to worry about. Even aftermarket, which is the only way to go, rotors will rust. They are steel. Also, aftermarket rotors with pads, if you can do it yourself, cost about $75 for good ceramic pads, and About $65 a rotor, which you need 2.
  8. I have a FWD 09 my first non 4 wheel drive in years. My last was also a Durango. The stock Kumo tires are, in my opinion, absolute garbage. I put a different set of tires on and got through Chicagos last winter ok. Didn't go out in the middle of a storm, but when I did have to go through slush/snow it was ok. Not even close to 4wheel and I did start in 2nd after almost every stop. Now they plow pretty good around here so that helped a lot . Not sure what else to say. If you travel in storms a lot go for the AWD, if it's mainly after, try your luck.
  9. You have to file a lemon law complaint with your state. You MUST HAVE copies of EVERY TIME your car went in. If you didn't get a sheet from your dealer each time or threw it out, no dice. It takes a long time. Do not expect them to come to you and say gee we sold you a lemon, we'll buy it back. It can be done but it's a lot of work on your end. No cost to you ( at least in Illinois)....best of luck
  10. I have seen this problem once or twice on this site. Maybe you could do a search, or try a bone yard. Dealer will cost I'm sure...
  11. Those look really great. Mind telling us the cost and the guy who did them?
  12. I just read in yesterday's Chicago newspaper about a recall on a part ( a computer module) that starts with 2007 and goes to 2014's, multiple models, including the DJ. I will look for the paper and see if I can give more info. Supposed to be a recall....
  13. The same thing happened when I got my 09. Walked back into the dealer, told them they falsely advertised the car. They added unconnected and paid for it all. It also was my 3rd car I bought from them over the years. While I don't have steering wheel control for some functions, I can control the volume and have full voice control. Also the mike is not in the mirror, but I put it next ti the sunglasses holder (if you will) and it works great. I wouldn't pay 2 cents for something they advertised was in the car. I'd spend the money on a lawyer or file a fraud complaint.
  14. When I go my 09 the dealer thought the exact same thing, Bluetooth and voice command. It was not in the car. I am happy to tell you there is an add on modual they can put on and it will work. I didn't get the mic in the mirror, but they paid for everything since it was advertised as having it. Hope they do the same for you!
  15. I pay not attention to my oil change light. It comes on at EXACTLY 2,500 miles no matter what. Highway, city, it doesn't matter. I use Mobil 1 and change it every 5,000 I just reset it at 2,500 and when it come back on I know it's at 5grand. Also use my second trip odom to keep track. In my opinion the oil change reminder in the 09 is there to make the dealer $.
  16. I have an 09 r/t. Since day one, if you turn the wheel completely left or right, in other words pinning the wheel, it makes some noise. Back off a bit it goes away. This is normal. I also seem to recall some type of recall or flash that had to do with the power steering. Maybe you can check with the dealer and see if it was ever done.
  17. How about this. It's a 2014. Take it to the dealer and make them change it. Cleaning isn't going to do anything, it's most likely on the back of the mirror.
  18. That's what we get for "assembled in Mexico". Thank goodness you didn't have a major accident. I'd make the dealer do a lot more then say "sorry"
  19. If it can't be added now, wait a few months and perhaps Dodge will work a addon. In the meantime, turn the headlights on. I understand that DRL's are a safety feature, but they aren't required in the US, so why would Dodge waste time and money in case someone wants to turn them on? Really, it's not like the end all to prevent an accident. Give DodgeCares some time, he/she has always been helpful. Maybe they are sick, vacationing, or working on the problem.....
  20. I was under the impression if a warranty repair takes more then a day, a rental is provided. Perhaps that's just my dealer, but I thought it was part or the new car warranty. I know the couple of times I had to leave my DJ more then a day I got the rental no questions asked. I am in the US near Chicago if that matters.
  21. Have you looked at kellybluebook.com or true car?.. Check the internet. Don't be looking for what you paid, it will be thousands less!
  22. This sounds like your pads are wiggling around. Annoying yes, but not causing damage. There are two clips that hold the pad snug to avoid this. If you reused the old ones that's the cause. You need to replace the clips each time. A way to fix this is easy but you need to take everything apart again. You can purchase new clips and install them, and I always use a " anti-noise" coating. Every auto parts store sells a version of it. It's kind of a cream that's gets sticky. Apply the "cream" to the OUTSIDE (the metal side, not the pad side" of the the brake pad, reinstall the pads, and the squeak will be gone. A common mistake. Don't forget, you need to turn the caliper piston in, not just compress it!
  23. If I'm not mistaken, in Europe cars have a red "fog light" in the rear so others can see they are approaching another car. It's not to help you see, it's to be seen. Of course, I might be wrong on this.
  24. This sounds like a bad ground. Start by checking the ground for the reverse lights. A lot of times the same ground location is used for several different items. Look for a black wire under a bolt, etc. sometimes just loosening and re-tightening the bolt will do it, other times you need to clean the connector, bolt, and ground location. I don't know where this ground is located, but start by looking around the frame under the rear of the car. This may correct the dimness issue, but I really don't have a clue on the bright to dim show. Hope this helps!
