I called the dealer parts dept. he looked it up and there might be replaceable bulbs, a #37. I’m goin to hit a auto parts store and grab a couple and look into it Saturday. Already did the 100k maintenance last fall, so even if I pay $100 to have them replace the entire thing, it’s cheaper than just the part. I will update Saturday. And thank you for the reply’s! I was getting worried...?

Haven’t gotten any reply’s. Are you guys seeing this? I’ve searched the web, everything says no serviceable parts, but it looks like there are 3 bulbs. Going to try calling the parts department at my dealer, see what they say. Will tear the dash out and look this weekend, but would really rather have the bulbs ready. I will update later. A favor, could anyone reply with something so I know this is being seen? Even a “let us know” would make me happy. thanks! ??

Hey all, looking for a little info. I have: 09 Journey, 3.5 R/T. 3 zone automatic HVAC. The issue is tonight I took the car to get gas for my wife (her car) and discovered half the display doesn’t light up. The temp numbers are there, but the lights behind the various buttons are DOA. The question: are there replaceable bulbs or does the module need to be replaced? The entire module would be covered under my MaxCare warranty, but if someone knows about the bulbs that would be easy enough to change. If so, would you have a bulb number (can’t find any in the OM or internet...

They sold it with a warranty, I’d make sure they honor it, or give you some $$ off your purchase price. What warranty did you purchase? I hope it’s a FCA warranty, not a 3rd party.....

My car is an 09. Yes I stream music, Waze, mirror screen without issue. Steering wheel controls work fine. USB and 3.5 was on factory radio, but usb and 3.5 on Kenwood radio work fine. No heated seats, climate on radio, (they are on the dash, always were) never was even with the factory radio. Dumped suck ass UConnect and use the Kenwood system, but the handsfree button works that just fine.?

Check out Crutchfield.com. Installed a Kenwood DMX9706S in my 09. System isn’t what I would call plug and play, requires some prep (connecting wires to each other, programming the Maestro unit, etc) but I did all that on my work bench. When I got in the car all I had to do was remove the old unit, cut a bracket, connect the wire looms together, and install the new unit. In the car took about 45 mins. Ran into 1 issue, called Crutchfield, they talked me through it. Never hung up, never said call back. I didn’t want the UConnect(it sucked, wouldn’t work with my phone, no help from UConnect) but kept steering wheel controls, hands free (new unit has its own system). Love my Kenwood system.

I doubt it. Too many modules that are different. Is the compass a 4x4? That will complicate things.

BCM maybe? Heard of bad relays doing this as well. New car electrical issues are a bear....

You would not believe how many people ask a million questions about repairs that would be covered under some warranty. When we are guessing, we ask about warranties.

Thinking about a Honda Ridgeline. My buddy’s has one, beautiful truck, zero issues.

I travel 30 mins to get to my dealer, Fields CDJR in Glenview,IL. They treat me like family, like I purchase a car from them every week! I didn’t even buy my DJ from them. Closest dealer is 5 mins away......

Not sure where the door module is, but it’s been discussed here before. Might be under the steering wheel, but I’m not sure. Let us know what you figure out!

2010 Journey Starting issues
OhareFred replied to Dxydarling's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
Have you checked your vin for recalls? There was one for the drivers door wire loom, one for the ignition win module/fobs, could also be the BCM. At 10/11 years electrical issues crop up and can be a nightmare trying to track them down.... -
There is, IIRC, a drivers door module that controls the switches, mirrors, etc. there is also complaints about the wire loom in the drivers door....the fact that it starts out working then fails leads me to think the module is bad.

If you get a low voltage indicator while the car is running, you may have a bad alternator or bad connections at the alternator. Why did you change the battery and alternator? Were they bad or just guessing? -

Well, did you do a test for a parasitic draw? A known issue is the Bluetooth not shutting off and draining the battery...l -
Sorry, mine goes to the dealer for everything except wipers and brakes. Those 2 things I do. I also have Lifetime Maxcare. Smartest move I ever made...

Trapped air? Did you bleed the system properly? It’s a PIA process....

only took 3 years, but now we know.... -
In my 09 the only thing BT worked with was phone calls. Eventually swapped the radio and BT system to a Kenwood with wireless car play/phone. Absolutely love it, works flawless with Apple and Android, and is free updates...
