I know on my 09 if the wheel lugs aren’t torqued to the correct value (95 for an 09) I get a vibration. Just a thought....

I live in Chicago where they put enough salt down to choke a horse, and my 09 battery tray is fine. Replaced the battery once so far....

Not sure but just take a test light and check it. Not complicated. -
2010 key wont start my car
OhareFred replied to Guerrerojp87's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
That’s not the recall I was talking about. It was for non-push button ignition switches. The ones where you stick the key/fob into the dash and turn it. That’s the one I was talking about. Had mine done a few years ago. New in dash ignition module a 3 new fobs... -
Can you give us more info? Does it crank? Any CEL light? Did you check for any stored codes? Have you tried multiple keys? Have you load tested the battery? Are the battery cables tightly connected to the battery? What’s your voltage at the jump terminals? that might be a good start.....

2010 key wont start my car
OhareFred replied to Guerrerojp87's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
They replaced the entire ignition unit along with new key fobs. It may have been for heavy key rings, but if it wasn’t done on the op’s car it may fix the issue. -
2010 key wont start my car
OhareFred replied to Guerrerojp87's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
There was an ignition key recall for 09-? If the car doesn’t have a push button it might be included. Was it ever taken in/checked for that? You can go to my mopar.com, create a profile, enter the vin and it will tell you.... -
DOUBLE POST. MODS LOCK ONE PLEASE
-
Wow. That’s a big undertaking. You need a new headliner, rear heat/ac controls, rear heater core, rear AC coil, rear heater hoses, new front dash controls, possibly a larger AC condenser, likely have to go to the dealer and have the BCM flashed and rear ac sales code/dual AC activated. Your talking big money.

I don’t recall how it’s done, but you are not the first to do it. Try a forum search on headrest maybe...

What had to be “relearned”? Changing the crank sensor should not require any computer relearn, right? Did the shop do something with the computers?
-
I think you can reset the headrest yourself. There are directions in the owners manual (I believe). Mine doesn’t have that type so can’t look for you. Not so sure the check engine light is on because of the headrest, might just be coincidence. I could see the airbag light on, but not the engine light, but IDK.....

Hey all! Who’s replaced there factory fogs with LED fogs, not just the bulb, the entire assembly? Do you need to remove the front bumper or can you just take the trim around the housing off? Any instructions or is it a simple process? Thinking of replacing my factory fogs with LEDs.......

Have you checked the water pump? It’s behind the timing belt, might be what’s leaking.

16 Journey Won't Start-Lots of Error Messages
OhareFred replied to ChopperMN's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
Are you sure the battery is good? These cars are VERY voltage sensitive. Just because the gauges/lights come on doesn’t mean the battery is good. NOW, if you have properly load tested the battery with a modern battery tester and the printout says it’s charged and good, the next step would be the starter. That may mean removing it to get it checked, but check the battery and see from there....let us know- 6 replies

Coolant flush @ 122,000km / 2011 Journey
OhareFred replied to Mayellah's topic in Maintenance & D.Y.I.
You can go to a dealer or most oil change places, they hook it up to a machine, and in about 30 mins or so your entire cooling system gets cleaned/flushed and new coolant installed. Mine cost about $200 at the dealer. -
Coolant flush @ 122,000km / 2011 Journey
OhareFred replied to Mayellah's topic in Maintenance & D.Y.I.
Yes, do the flush. It cleans out the entire cooling system. After awhile your coolant loses its protective qualities and needs to be done. If you can afford it, have it done with a flush machine. If all you do is flush the radiator, your only doing part of the job, but if that’s all you can afford, it’s better than nothing. the only way this might affect your AC is your cooling system may be running warmer than it should, making everything hotter. The AC system really is not directly connected to your cooling system. -
Door key sets off alarm
OhareFred replied to jtcowman's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs, Locks & Remote Start
Of course not. You need the fob or fob/key to start the car. The “hard” key is for when your fob won’t open the door. Even if your fob battery is dead, if you press the fob on the start button the car can start. -
Door key sets off alarm
OhareFred replied to jtcowman's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs, Locks & Remote Start
No way to change it, that’s how it works. You can open the door but need to start the car or the security system goes off... -
One post wonder. Save your breath, this has been covered to death....
