Paully
Had been having oil changes done by dealer but moved out of the area so now they wont cover them anymore. No surprise there but , while changing my own oil / filter i noticed the cheap little plastic bypass valve in the filter assy. had broken apart. So heads up when you do a filter change to check this little plastic piece of crap !

onecrazyfoo4u
Mine broke about a year ago too. I never replaced it. So what exactly does it do? What problems is it going to cause by not replacing it?
N87
In conventional oil filters, by-pass valve allows oil flowing in case the filtration element gets clogged up. jkeaton
N87
BTW, Here is a video on what it is and how to order/replace the by-pass oil filter valve for 3.6 Pentastar.
onecrazyfoo4u
Thanks for the video. I didn't realize it was such an important piece. I'll have to order a replacement for my next oil change. N87
